- Kit 1 was delivered on 28th November 2013. This is the first in a series of kits to build a 4" scale (1/3rd size) Burrell Single Crank Compound steam traction engine. I was going to just do a normal blog but why not video? Let me know if you want to see anything in particular. This is going to take me a while so subscribe for more videos!

Just come across this have subscribed and look forward to the build cheers Kevin
For some reason I can't reply to your comment directly Jamie but there should be another video next week. I've basically been working on my painting skills as have not had another kit come through yet. Thanks for watching :-)
Love this, just ordered mine from Steam Traction World, will be following you very closely :) Wish it was on DVD!
Ryan Curnow congrats! I have been a bit slack on the videos lately - just a lot of editing to do when I'd rather be in the shed!!
I got my first scc kit too we should keep in contact though the build.
Regards dan
Hi Dan, yes by all means! I have been busy elsewhere but have fitted my tyres and should have another video up soon. Chris

Hi Chris I was just wondering I've been looking online to try and buy a kit and I just can't find it is it ok you can send me a link to whatever site you bought of thank you 😄
did u build the boiler?
Where do you buy these kit?
How did u get and how much is it and how much are they please
i would like to build one can you help me buy and make a barrel from scratch
Hi Chris, quick question, what araldite did you use and what liquid rubber ?
+Phillip Stone hi Phillip, any 2 part epoxy resin should do the trick. I got a couple of small packs of branded Araldite at a local shop for cheap but then got one of the bigger two part kits from Amazon where it comes in bottles. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0006O8QQA
For the rubber I used Isoflex - you can get a primer as well as the rubber itself. Don't use it with nice paint brushes though as they will basically get destroyed! Hope this helps.
+ChriX Builds is pink grip okay for the fillet around the wheels as well or would I be better if going for jb weld ?
I used JB weld on the front and found it annoying (it chips/cracks and bits fall out) so used Pink Grip on the back which seems to be less brittle.
+ChriX Builds did you use the liquid rubber primer aswell or just straight on with the rubber
Hi Phillip, I used the primer - do not want that stuff coming off, ever! Chris
Were abouts can I buy this kit?
what basic tools do you need for this kit?
I would say, off the top of my head, spanners (metric and imperial), angle grinder, wire brushes, allen keys, twist drills, files, hammers, screwdrivers. Maybe some taps for cleaning threads. It is really only basic stuff. I have used my machines for a couple of things but that's only out of ease rather than necessity. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
thanks mate how much was the entire kit?
