Hi @nolongerhavetowork somehow I missed this question. Gmail is staying in business, the announcement that went out was a hoax. However, there are some new legal issues coming up for Google from a major anti-trust lawsuit. The Dept of Justice may be moving to break up the Alphabet Inc company which may or may not occur. There will likely be some changes as a result of this pressure to reduce the monopoly power that Google has.
