I, as hethan/pagan/whatever other term others decide to lay on me. I think that an individual can forgive you for what you've done to them but that never makes it right. You can even learn to forgive yourself, but that doesn't make it right. There are consequences to your actions and you will pay for them in one way or another. It is delusional to think that asking for forgiveness to a God for something you've done to another person will right any wrongs. I personally believe that it's a cop out. Sure it must be nice to think you can be forgiven for your evil so easily. But reality does not work this way, and your actions will be carried with you into the afterlife. I know it must be terrifying to think that regardless of how you feel, you will be punished for the evil you've done in the world. It must be done. For the sake of all people you must face the consequences of any crime you commit. Regardless of how you feel after.

I'm an Irish Catholic Christian and most of our main cities were founded by the Vikings. I used to practice Celtic paganism, I felt drawn to it for cultural reasons but I didn't really understand that I had pretty much zero faith or trust in it. So whenever I felt at my weakest, I turned to God and I reverted back to Christianity after seeing that pattern.
I agree that Christians need to respect people's privacy and I don't see very much people being converted by ineffective intrusive spam, but rather mystical personal experiences.
I feel that it's more our duty as believers in Christ to introduce people to Him and to let people know that He is there for them and to let them how our life was transformed by Him.
Whether people want to follow God is their choice and we should respect that as annoying people will only deter them from the Church.
It saddens me that with each new Protestant denomination that arises, with it's own new theology, the word "Christianity" looses it's meaning a little bit more.
It's so hard to represent Christians via the most basic Christian beliefs these days..
Some sects outright reject the divinity of Christ, a central belief held by the Church for centuries.
Some of the preachers you talk about remind me of Protestant preachers that my Dad said were standing outside pubs annoying people who were having a pint and condemning their fellow Christians. This ideology seemed very foreign to my priest when I talked to him about preaching.
As for science, Pope Benedict XVI referred to religion and science as "complementary realities".
It was a Catholic priest who created the big bang theory and evolution is taught in our schools. There's no conflict, the real problem is fundamentalism and the complete literal interpretation of many Holy Bible verses which were intended to be metaphorical.

There are so many religions in the world that claims to be the true religion, but those are the paths of others and if it works for them, thats great. I show respect to all and get respect in return, But if a fight must be fault, I will stand my ground. It's really hard for me to explain the feelings I get, I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. With that I will say Goodbye and take care. Bra vind i ryggen er best.

Why I have become more resolved in my Christian belief:
"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:
For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! (2 Timothy 3:1-5)"
These are the days that we are living in today. Without the love of Christ, and there are many in the "christian church" who do not have the love of Christ, without the Love of Christ there is no hope. Regardless of what you believe, the Truth IS in Christ.
My opinion, maybe, or maybe it's the Truth.

I've been through a few beliefs in my life (leading to not having any belief at all) and one thing I found was people often confuse negative actions and words of a believer with the message of their faith. Europe was originally evangelized by the apostle St Andrew. The pagans eventually crucified him, but some people listened and little churches and monasteries grew from that. They were too few to convert others by force. Reading some history of the church will help, especially regarding the schism into West and East in 1054 AD. The Western church developed the concept of a universal Pope and became increasingly militaristic. This Roman Church began persecuting the original Christians in Europe as well as the pagans and "converting" by force. Abuses continued eventually resulting in the Protestant movement. As a European these two -- Roman Catholic and its daughter the Protestants -- are what westerners think of as the Church. If you look into Orthodoxy, you will find the concepts and resulting cultures are very different from western "christianity."
I respect all who search for Truth and am utterly convinced He exists. Godspeed, Bjorn.

It's like going to a baseball game here in the US, and discovering that there are a small number of fans who are drunk, obnoxious, disrespectful and getting into fights. They do not represent the majority who are there to enjoy the game. I believe that most Christians find your channel interesting because you appear to be a man of integrity with conservative values. In this video, you even showed a great deal of restraint, along with respect for the beliefs of others. The best way I can describe my faith is thru my life as a father. I want to have open communication with my sons, and I want the best for them. I desire to have great lifelong relationships with them, because I love them. Simply put, God wants the same type of relationship with us, because He loves us. My Christianity is about a relationship, not a religion.

Humanity has consistently demonstrated a penchant for virtue signaling rather than living up to and modeling what we profess to believe in. This is true no matter which ideological flavor we adhere to. It’s immaturity that’s obvious to those subjected to this treatment.
There’s a reason for not talking politics or religion to those outside of our inner circle. Evangelizing is just another form of leveraging neighbors as the easy route to feeling superior and safe. It’s not love, although often people convince themselves that they are doing “God’s (by any name) work”. If we’re true seekers, we eventually grow out of this superficial habit - for which our neighbors are eternally grateful.

If you want to understand the differences between religions, first look at what they share in common in terms of what they do for individuals who follow them, and then the neural circuits they share in common. Then discard everything else.
The conclusion I’ve come to is this. Religions first and foremost allow humans to deal with death terror. Look at animals - what happens to them when they learn they will die? They experience a terror and level of stress so great, it can kill the animal then and there. Animals only learn of their death when they’re about to die, so short is their time horizon. The time horizon for humans extends past death, so merely contemplating death is enough to induce a level of stress that is utterly toxic. The idea we will live forever is the solution to knowledge of our mortality.
Religion is also the most advanced form of psychotherapy known to man,
requiring nothing but faith. Also necessary in a world that is defined by trauma. Just look at the ever greater medical and pharmaceutical intervention required as we are slowly losing our religion.
Religion also allows nation sized groups of people to form tribes and to co-operate together in pursuit of shared goals. It is easy to see how evolution starts with the individual, then the tribe / collective, then nation. As with an arms race, this necessitates competing groups, each with their own religion.
Religion also functions as a collective memory. There are only a limited number of ways to live successfully in a given geographical area. Religion, through the process of memetic natural selection, allows these ideas to be codified and passed on to future individuals. Again, another competitive edge in the arms race of nations sized tribal competition for resources and survival.
Now look at the way religion operates at the psychological level. Clearly, the mental machinery infants use to learn from their parents, to derive self value and confidence in the world, goes to waste if abandoned in adolescence. Religious adults are children - children of god - who continue to use this powerful machinery to build and maintain their ego and sense of purpose into adulthood.
These days I see God as good, and good as God. I believe Good exists. I want to serve Good. If I live my life serving good, my life gets better, as does the lives of those around me.
The advantages to the individual in terms of survival, health, and reproduction, and the group (which religion allows to expand from a tribe of max 150+ to nations) are absolutely enormous, can not be overstated, and atheists and scientists for some strange reason are totally blind to these advantages. I think that’s because to acknowledge the advantages as an atheist, is also to acknowledge you have opened Pandora’s box and lost so many advantages in life.
I know that’s what was motivating me when I was a hardcore atheist. I’m still an atheist, but in learning what I’ve lost, I regret having opened Pandora’s box. In fact, I think inside this particular Pandora’s box is the destruction of any individual or group who decides to open in. Destruction by what? Destruction by other religious groups who didn’t open the box. The destruction might be slow by the way, simply by means of demographic replacement. Hedonistic atheists reproduce below replacement rate, so once a population adopts this position, they’re destined to be replaced in short order by groups who follow their gods instruction to go fourth and multiple (see now how religion is a psychological Darwinian mechanism?)
The religious will always outcompete the non religious for all the reasons I’ve stated. Unless a group of technocratic communist atheists manage to seize all global technology, government and infrastructure that is - if that happens, and it looks like it is happening, one group of people may well secure power over all humanity forever.
Christians would describe these people as Satanic, and many of them actually describe themselves as satanists, and I would say what they’re doing can only be described accurately in religious terms - as evil. Again, I point you all back to the ancient wisdom in the books. What is happening now is not new. The ancient wisdom that informs us what we must do is in the books, all we have to do is believe together, and together with God on our side (another powerful psychological Darwinian advantage) we can take action that will make a difference. I can not believe so this power is not available to me, but I am trying my best to support those who do, over those who don’t, and to follow what is in the book. I believe the wisdom
encoded there far surpasses any conclusion I can come to in my short time here, or at the least, is my starting point from which I can take refined action.
I never thought I’d end up in this bizarre position, as an atheist rooting for Christianity, but here I am. It’s taken me over 20 years of reading, thought, experience, pain, mistakes, anguish, to come to this conclusion, I didn’t do so lightly. Neither should you.

@@markj7612 maybe the Celtic church, the Church of Iesa, the Essenes, Cathars, the gnostic writings. Once you start this research you see how good ancient beliefs overlap. Take the overlaps, disregard or shelve the rest.

I am a follower of one of the Abrahamic faiths and I believe that none of them have a monopoly on spirituality.
There are good, bad, confusing and weird parts of the 3 Abrahamic faiths, much similar to other faiths and belief systems. I am just glad that we live in a world where we can learn about different belief systems without first chopping each others heads off.
And lately, Bjorn, a Norse religion believer, has given more knowledge and light, in my life, than members of my own faith. For that I am very grateful and humbled. Thank you Bjorn.

Hello from Australia to a fellow heathen! I was brought up as a seven day Adventist.... Being in Australia and married to an native of this country... I know what damage Christianity has done to these people!!!! They believe in what they are doing at the time. But the things they have done are unspeakable to most natives... My husband cannot trace his family tree because his family has been part of the stolen generation!!!! Most records have been wiped! Because in the past natives were not classed as humans... I have read of the horrible things they did to these people... It makes me want to cry the things they did to Australian natives... Even now Christianity is used as excuse to do horrible things. No one can convert me again... So agree with you so much Bjorn!!! Thank you...

Europeans cannot trace theirs and more so Americans. I've given this deep thought. There is a blank where there ought to be a spiritual connection instead. It shows itself in many ways and most strikingly in disregard for nature. We are disembodied souls. Disconnected is what I'm getting at.

There is a BIG difference between our beliefs and The Truth. I don't think we've been given the truth in ages. Our beliefs are mostly based on things we've accepted as true from those who were our teachers growing up. I once had a person tell me I was going to "hell" because I wasn't "saved", even though I had been Baptised early in life. I told this person, "Neither of us really know if I'm going to hell or you're not because you've been recently "saved". When you die you'll know the truth. When I die I'll know the truth. Let's leave it at that." People should worry about what they are or are not doing, not what others are or are not doing. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Can't pick and choose what parts you will and will not follow. JMHO. We very much appreciate you Bjorn. Your perspectives on topics and openness. Wishing you a life free from "the haters", whatever their beliefs.

I liked the way you addressed that comment in the beginning. People can't say their belief is truer than others, it is a form of arrogance. Since we do not know, religion is just a human made set of doctrines, while we can hope it is of God, but we do not know. We know life is full of struggles, injustice, sickness, poverty, death. As humans we have to survive this world from our own standpoint, then religion only messes with the human mind. I believe in simplicity, down to the main boiling point of spirituality; That there is good and evil.

I'm not stuck on the legalities of religion. As a Christian, I'm ashamed too at how other Christians outside myself are so judgmental (aka HATE-FULL) towards those whom they feel are not "Christian enough" & non-Christians. I prefer the way Jesus taught & exampled to be all about having a pure genuine loving relationship with God our Father & towards one another. I stopped going to church due to their diehard judgmental hateful attitudes. I simply prefer to listen to Charles Stanley's sermons off RUclips anymore & follow the teachings & examplings of Christ. Forget the hateful crap those ones love to spew at me. I walk away from them. Because I prefer to keep on being loving. Love is the key. The cruelty is not my cup of tea. I don't push my beliefs on anyone. In fact I'm friends with a Wiccan. Wiccan is not a witch. Wiccan is basically a herbalist (in a nutshell). Ppl are ppl. And we should never be mean/cruel towards one another. If a Christian is truly a Christian, they'd knock off the narcisstic parasite judgmental hate-full speeches/attitudes.

Bjorn as a Christian I want to say you reflect the attitude that Christ had towards our fellow man. It was all wrapped up in respect all things, unless your are getting messed with, then still respect their life, have compassion for them to change, but stop putting up with it.
I don’t see you being ignorant or disrespectful. Just calling out the worst of our tribe.
Do I think you’re going to Hell? I don’t know maybe? I wonder about myself a lot too. I find myself wondering if these critical Christians are the same people that would have condemned Christ to the cross. It’s weird man. You can lead someone to love but you can’t make them apply it correctly.

It shouldn't be pushed on anyone like that. As you said, these zealots believe that they are acting out of love, but the way they do so is anything but loving. It's a shame.

Hi Bjorn - I have been learning quite a lot from listening to some of your videos - and this one then
appeared in the youtube feed - I am quite shaken by your report of your experience by a person
(Christian or self deceived person or a deliberate impostor, I cannot tell ) who phoned your number
at anytime but at night also.
Yes, some people ( Christians, or self professed, self deceived people) can be over zealous and
misguided - and from some comments I see can be ignorant and brash - I expect there are some
people in those type of comments who are mischief makers pretending to be Christians
( I have found many people with channels on youtube pretending to be Christians but spreading
false information and false impressions ) Christianity is having it's own information wars.
Yes some may even be Christians, misguided by poor instruction from churches ( most
of which nowadays are led by non Christian infiltrators ) and from personal flaws and
personal instabilities and from personal neglect to build themselves properly on their
faith foundations. This gives me pause to consider my own errors in this area.
Some of this I have explained in a couple of other posts here in response to some other
commenters. so I won't repeat it again in this post.
I have found your videos informative on ongoing issues of great significance which affect
us all and your mature, calm manner to be very encouraging and comforting at this time
of challenge for all of us and due to some of my own personal challenges have found
a connection and comfort and encouragement from what you share and how you
share it. Your manner of communication in the videos I have watched and in this
video here, is helpful indeed and also humbling.
Quite unsettling to me that you had this disturbing experience ( I know that Christians
are called to go out and offer our message, on the streets and even door to door ) and I
know that many can have more zeal than decorum - and this is an issue for us not to
take lightly. I am also saddened that you have been disrupted from holding the
"hang out" chats that you want to do with people of like beleifs. As a Christian believer
myself, I know we are called to proclaim while we are in this life, and that can
meet with rebuffs etc, at the same time, we are to work on how we act and
communicate that message and not be acting in the iinappropriate manner
    which you have encountered.
Thank you for your stand, for sharing relevant information, sharing the wonderful
locations, for your encouragement , kindness and generosity of spirit.
