So glad you made this video. My Bernette 234 has been sitting idle for nearly 25 years, I can't remember where I put the manual, and couldn't remember how the red thread goes, you absolutely saved my day, thank you very much!!
Thank you so much! I spent 2 hours trying to get it threaded by looking at the diagram in the instructions, and I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. You explained it so well and I really appreciate you moving the machine so we can actually see up close!
Thank you for making this video. I too am struggling with that red thread. Now I'm waiting on my new needles but I look forward to trying out my bargain machine.
Wow, thank you so much for making this video. I was able to fix my sister's 4 thread serger by watching your video and threading the serger correctly. It helped so much and she didn't have to send it to a repair shop.
This is the exact serger my husband found and surprised me with!! I was so scared I wouldn't be able to find a tutorial on how to use it. Thank you so much for uploading this video!!!!
Great video but you didn't show the threading right at the top and I wish you could zoom in to the places where you thread but thank you, the video helped a lot.
This video is very helpful for threading this serger, however one thing is not correct . Just above the tension dials each thread has two holes to go through down on the left up and over and down again on the right then to the tension dial
I inherited a Bernette 234 Seger, and I am learning how to function it every day. Can I blind hem for a stretchy fabric on this machine? What kind of thread to use for the stretchy fabric on this machine? If anyone know, please let me know.
Yes, absolutely, you can serge the bottom of skirt and pants fabric and then turn it under, but it's much less noticeable if you hand-hem the surged part on the inside. The best thread is standard cones of polyester, they even have them at Wal-mart now for about $3.99 so you don't have to spend a lot at a fabric store/sewing center.
I bough this serger for $25 at an estate sale. Thank you so much for the instructions. I did pause/zoom a few times but your demonstration was very helpful. Thank you.
Thank you so much for creating and sharing this tutorial, I followed your instructions and now have my eBay bargain working!
Glad it helped!

Hope this will reach you. Need help using Bernett 234 rolled hem attachmen
Nice concept
Thanks for the effort, but it would be much more helpful if you did a closeup, especially for the lower looper.
Thanks for your feedback.
