Brings back memories (and butterflies!) I have done open calls (cattle calls) before. You have to have a tough hide - show business is tough and not for wimps. I've made some shows (musical theater) - and some you hear "thank you" and thats that - you might stick around if that is ok, or you might just grab your dance bag and head for the stage (or rehearsal hall) door. .... On to the next. You never know what the choreographer, producer or director is looking for - you just give it all you've got and hope for the best. If you give up you have 0 chance of making the cast. The thing I love so much about "A Chorus Line" and Mr. Bennet's choreo, is that its how it is. It doesn't matter if its local theater or Broadway - Although the bigger the show the more people show up for the call. To those trying out - break a leg, all my love and best wishes...
It was such a wonderful show. I highly recommend The King and I to everyone. They all did an incredible job. Thank you.
