- What is the best truck? There aren't many, but everyone has a strong opinion. To help provide an answer, this time on Face Off we asked
Edmunds editors James Riswick and Dan Edmunds to pick what they thought was the best pickup.
James chose the best-selling Ford F-150. Dan brought a Ram 1500 along with an Airstream trailer to really see which of these equally priced V6-powered pickups was the most capable by towing it up a very steep grade. They also compare cab quality, features and comfort.
Edmunds Face Off: 2 trucks, 2 editors, you decide which 1 wins.

I've owned both F150 and GMC they were both the biggest pile of trouble I owned. Bought a Ram Crew Sport 8 speed Hemi and it's just the best and gets combined 26 MPG. As far as rust they all will if not properly mantained and looked after.
+Anthony Macneil I call BS on your 26 combined from that 5.7
+Daniel Bell Agreed. Plus my 2001 f 150 I bought brand new has very low rust considering I've live in Hawaii for 6 years and currently live in Florida. (I bought it in Cali btw)
Anthony Macneil. 27. mpg. with. my. 2017. and. how. can. I. do. side by. side. with. these. trucks. Ford has. tubo. wait. till. ram bring. out. there. turbo. v6. then. do. it. agian
If you want a good truck, you don't worry about gas mileage
454 big block
8 mpg
+gUYLIkESPIE7 Hahaha good ol block engines
With my gas savings I could buy a new deer rife every year and a hunting trip out west. REPEAT - Every year! AND eat porterhouse steaks 3 times a week. Yeah. I’d rather live more of a life than truck.
@@mikemead2315 dude u right about gas but trucks really hard to broke up ........but cars not same u need to repair
Not true. My V6 does everything I need it to do and I save alot of money for other great activities 😁🤣
I've had my 97 F150 for years now and only recently have I had some problems with it, that's that it's 2015. From my experience ford seems to be reliable, and it's really all my family uses.
If its a triton your full of shit but if one of fords older good engines like the 351 I can see why
+gUYLIkESPIE7 I have a 99 f150, bought it new! only been in the shop for brakes and a tune-up, 4.6l and about to roll over to 300,000
I hate how people say their particular truck is the best and everyone else's trucks suck it's all about preference. Personally I'd drive a dodge over a ford or chevy any day but I don't go around talking shit about everyone else's truck
I'm so happy to see they both memorized the sellers manuel..lol Who wants a V6 when you can get a V8?
I just bought a new truck in February. It was between the F150, Ram 1500, and Tundra. In the end I went with the Tundra. It was a really hard decision, but in the end price/content/reliability/length were the deciding factors. I went with the Tundra CrewMax 4.6 SR5 TSS. I really liked both the Ram and F150 though. The Tundra was 4" shorter than the F150, so it fits more easily in my garage. The Ram selection locally cost more comparatively than the Tundra with the same content. Tundra won.
If you're buying a truck, why are you buying anything below a v8 or a diesel?
Light weight engine with as much power as a v8 good for mudding and racing
+Edward Wright 4.9l i6 best towing engine a 1/2 ton
3.5L twin turbo tows better then most v8 engines. Id love too see an inline 6 diesel engine in a half ton truck.
Because now a days v6 engines make just enough and sometimes more power than an older gas guzzling v8. Moderns v8s are way over powered if you ask me. Like the new 6.2L Silverado for example, I'm sure all of that 460 ft lb of torque feels better than sex but that's a lot of stress on the powertrain. Modern v6s are more efficient and sometimes more reliable than a v8. That's why we have them. Not everybody needs 400+hp to get to work everyday or get groceries lol
because they don't use them as trucks.
Out of those 2 particular trucks I would pick the RAM. However I would not buy a V6 truck, with the possible exception of a Turbo V6
+Phu Doan Let me clarify. It has nothing to do with the size or capacity of the engine. These base V6 trucks do not offer the towing capacity that I need so I would not buy one. I would consider an Ecoboost because they can tow more than I need but that is the only V6 rated at over 10,000 pounds for towing.
If you want good mileage, buy a Prius. MPG should be the last thing on your mind while buying a truck.
I'll consider MPG long before I ever consider how "nice" the interior is. I'd get a completely sperate vehicle for that.
Technically i agree with you, but if you could get both, mpg and still be able to do everything you want to do wouldnt you rather get both?
Team Wagy . LoL...too funny... Love my new big horn..I just purchased for 12000 Grand a 2008... I was already driving Mustang and also own v8 Caprice Classic so yeah the hell with the gas... Nothing like having a good year make and model vehicle...
I don't know why in some stupid way I looked at it. If you want to save on gas mileage with a V8 is buy a 2-wheel drive. I've never heard of a V6 lasting in a full size pickup truck. EVER. When I think of a full-size pickup truck I think of anywhere between 12 to 17 miles per gallon for a V8 with four-wheel drive.
Ram wins on styling alone. Best looking truck ever. And it rides like a magic carpet.
2005 Dodge Ram 5.7 Hemi, have never had any problems other than transmission work, tows trailers with ease, and can handle some serious weight in the bed. It's a very reliable truck, that's my experience
Couldn't watch past the V6 part. If I wanted a V6 id buy a Nissan. 2011 Ford F150 with 5.0 V8.....19-19.5 combined MPG. 20.5-21 on highway. BETTER than advertised performance. 360HP V8 in a 4x4 super crew cab getting that kind of mileage has far surpassed my expectation. Plus it doesnt run its guts out pulling a load.
I pick ford f-150 just from my opinion a little bit more reliable then the ram and more durable but again my opinion others can say the ram but again that`s what I think but the ram is still a pretty good reliable truck.
Ford and Ram are neck on neck in competition but dodge is more reliable. Ford is a great truck but it also has problems with engine and fixing the engine is not cheap. Dodge has been higher than ford in competition they made upgrades to transmission chassis and the engine and it just makes on reliable tuff truck
Luis Cortez I don`t know about the ram being the more reliable truck then the ford but your opinion.
Kyle Fitzgerald a little bit? Ford is way more reliable than Ram.
Graham Clarence I won't be buying another Ford anyways so I could care less lmao
Kyle Fitzgerald why wouldn't you get another Ford?
I have had all 3 Ford, chevy and Dodge and have had little or no trouble with any of them, Right now I have a 1989 Ford that owes me nothing.
I'm not a really big fan of Ford but it's good. The ram tho,was the powerful because if doesn't suck all that much oil like the Ford does and it goes uphill like he's going on a normal road,so with al the details in it and the price are awesome Ram is the winner!
I'm a little surprised at their "choice" based on the simple fact they said the RAM ran the steep grade better. They said the Ford felt like it had more space, rode every bit as well, offered better transmission control, went down hill better and that means it handled better...
After all that, they picked the Dodge because it ran up a grade most people in America will never have to contemplate, better in their opinion. Speed tests? EQUAL... Oh, and the RAM did offer 1-2mpg better HWY economy. Personally, I like them both about the same and would've called it a draw or had to give it to the better handler. Then again, if I need to conserve more fuel, I'd have to side with Dodge here... Eh, it's a DRAW!
Enter the 3.5L TT 1/2 ton and Ford wins over Dodge, period.
RAM has proven its self and getting better every year
Transmission sucks shit. Pram is Italian crap.
For me personal. If it’s not a RAM it’s not a truck
@bloodstained actually the ford 3.5 v6 ecoboost has more towing capacity than the ram ecodiesel.
no gas engine outpulls the smooth torque of a diesel
jeffrey gussman the ecoboost holds 90% peak torque from 1,700 to 5,000 rpm (peak torque is 420 lb-ft, 90% would be 378 lb-ft). That is an incredibly flat torque curve.
still cant out do any diesel in current trucks
I bought a Big Horn Ram 1500 with the 5.7l Hemr about 2 months ago great Truck
My 2013 F-150 SuperCrew 3.7 V6 gets 31 MPG highway at 80mph lol. I was shocked when i did the math after driving from California to Arizona.
Coils in the ram give an amazing ride and with the simple addition of some bags I can tow as heavy of a trailer as I want and keep the sooth ride. Ford needs to step up their design for their half tons both inside and out in my opinion.
guts, glory RAM!!
tufkid91 did you know that in 2012 the Dodge Ram 1500 was named the most dangerous car (truck) in America according to 4 very reputable sources, there was an article about it in the new york daily news, it's on google
Who cares about safety? It's a truck not a mini van.
Hey Jared what if the Ford blows up going uphill ???
Well you need to expect that out of a ford.

+guy proulx - We're in fucking 2015 now, jackass.
I’m debating what is a better truck, I really am leaning towards the Ram 1500.
Oh and for people who still are pissed off about the bailouts I distinctly remember Chrysler coming out with some kick ass cars after they were bailed out same story with GM
I'll stick with Ford who didn't take my money and still makes kick ass cars and trucks.
Needs more RAM
I bought a 2016 F150 2.7 4 door 2wd. It bounce n the back like it need shocks. I rented a 2017 Ram 3.6 8 speed 4 door and it ride like a truck with good shocks.
The 3.6 power is cool if u don't drive an ecoboost first. I wish my transmission was a 8 speed or at least shift as smooth as the Ram.
This is year... Ford just came out with a 10 speed auto for all their trucks above base engine, your 2.7L ecoboost included. Unfortunately, It is the first model year having the tranny, so it may have hiccups.... Personally, I just bought a RAM 1500 with the 3.6L and have loved every minute driving it. Of course, my last car was a Ford that had too many problems, so I was unlikely to want to buy an F150....
To be honest fords sales numbers are skewed a good bit because of cheaper fleet sales not necessarily personal vehicle sales.
I think Ram 1500 is better , because of pricing in my area. I almost bought a Ram 1500 Tradesman crew cab for $26K total but opted for a smaller Nissan for $23k. A Ford in my area is going for about $33k minimum. I had Ford's before and for some reason, I almost all ways encounter electrical issues with them. My last Ford was the Expedition, which only had 130k miles before it started experiencing transmission issues.
Yep shopping now and both ford and ram appear nice. But I think I like the Ram 1500 because of the V6 and 8speed transmission. The way gas prices are today fuel efficiency will save you some big bucks over the long haul. Its just the way it is. Sorry Ford but Ram selling points seem to work in this current day!
People are still fighting over which pickup its the better choice....first of all they are basing their choices on the reliability from their old trucks and which company needed a bail out. The fact is a truck from 2005 isnt gonna have the same reliability as a truck from 2014. Manufacturers are constantly changing their production ways and constantly addind new tech to all of their vehicles especially thier trucks. To say that your truck is better because it had no prblms since 2004 isn't really viable anymore you have to base reliability issues on current trucks. The fact of the matter is the past is gone a 2004 truck isn't going to have the same reliability as 2014 truck and mostly all American car is sucked in the early 2000s. And for the people who won't even consider Toyota as a viable alternative that's bullshit because the Toyota tundra has 75% of its parts manufactured in America that's more than any other truck and it can tow just as much as the competition. The only manufacture today that is truly behind in the truck world is Nissan. People need to stop basing their views on trucks they've had and start looking at the differences between the trucks today because I'm pretty sure the new Dodge is more reliable than the Old dodge same story with Chevy and Ford.
Wrong my friend. www.edmunds.com/car-reviews/top-10/top-8-most-american-trucks-for-2014.html
Good Comment. Brand loyalty is great for sales (of that brand) and little else. People need to do their homework before putting their money down on anything.
Why don't you show 0-60 time and just discuss it in chairs? That is stupid. Try to make race with load uphill and see who is the winner. That's all! 8 minutes for nothing but talking...
You guys should do a video of the RAM 1500 EcoDiesel we own one and it is amazing especially the fuel mileage absolutely amazing we love the Ecodiesel best truck we ever!
He does speak the truth when he says that people will pick the brand in their driveway as the best.
Not Quite. I have 3 Chevy's in the drive way a ford in the field and a Ram in the garage. I defiantly choose the ram.
It's funny because you can make the Ford as powerful and tow as much as you want, you just have to go to their website and have it built. It doesn't cost much more than if you bought one out of the lot, but you'll never find the truck you can make sitting in a lot. I'm just biased, though, my father and grandfather both worked for Ford manufacturing for 40 years
As soon as I saw the Ram had the v6, and not the Hemi, totally lost interest. Video off!!
Yeah really, if there's no hemi no video 👍
For sure
Haha! As soon as he said V6 Pentastar I moved to the comment sections.
Ram is moving up in the world! There design inside the truck is top notch! Thank the Italians for that one! FIAT BABY!!!
Thank them for what? Making a decent truck worse?
I have a 2012 Dodge Ram and she's been good to me... Love my truck
Please watch a hemi take over I thought the ford was gonna break down soon cause it was hard at work
To me I have to go with ram. My uncle had an F-150 and when he got a boat it didnt have enough power to haul the boat for some reason so he traded it in for a 2007 dodge ram and loved the way it hauled. To me i think that people get ford because of the saying "built Ford Tough" but i still think the Dodge ram is better. Ram allll theee waayyy!!!!
you must be crazy. dodges are UGLY and they fall apart. did he ever have to replace the transmission in that ugly Dodge? bet he did...
Real question why would you two not compare the same platform? Crew cab vs Extended.
Dodge Ram with the HEMI all the way!!!!
Ram is better
You're kidding. I know it
USA_IS_THE_BEST who has been the voted best truck of the year for 5 years in a row?????? O yeah ram has
Why didn't you guys use v-8s for this test?
The Ford is quite a bit more expensive and Ford says you can't plow snow with the 4x4 F150 due to electric steering will shut down. The new 5.3 Chvy will get 6 cyl mileage and pull 10k lbs. I'm waiting : )
I know that neither of these were turbo, but I am curious. Is it true that turbos don't usually last more than 80K miles before needing replacing?
You got that right Ford marketing gimmick will come back and bite them as well as all the suckers that fell for it.
I have a 2002 f-50 4.2l the olddddd v6 still kicks ass and runs perfectly dodge eats shit coil springs is gay on a truck built ford tough with out your tax dollars. The 4.2 was a small as motor but ran its ass off
4.2 ....noisy vibration bucket....in 60,s and 70,s chevy used coil rear springs successfully
Train cars also use coil springs, I think most ppl tend to forget that all newer light trucks use coils on the front been that way for a while now So what ur saying is ur truck is gay because ur truck uses coils on front so even if ram uses them on the back also all other pickups use coils anyways just only on the front
I had a 2000 f150 xlt with the 4.2 and a 5 speed manual. It spun a bearing at 160k, it was a nice truck but i felt it was pretty gutless.
he,s obviously a young excitable boy with his first truck, i luv how he considers an 02 very ooooollllldddd. ...lol.....tell him rear coil springs were common in chevy trucks in the 60,s
I'm only 16, i like to wheel and deal so i don't normally keep a vehicle for 3 months or longer lol, although i'll probably keep my 95 ram 2500 for a while. I'm not to familiar with old chevy rear coil springs.
1:28 look at all of the space in that engine bay!
Are we really comparing V6 models here? So dumb.
Why? If you don't need that much power it's more economical and saves alot of money. I mean other than sounding cool and doing the whole gorilla chest pound Has to be a hemi thing. Please explain.
What I love about videos like these is that fact that all the fanboys come out and argue over trucks.
Trying to see which truck is the best truck is kinda pointless (unless the trucks are night and day different). Many truck buyers just buy whatever brand their family has used for some time.
again !...the underdog beats the over estimated ford.
can you make an update of this video? please
First off. Fords are junk. People buy them and sell them when they realize that quality was not job #1. Dodge is hot on the heels of Ford. Why is it better. No probably not. In fact they all are about the same. It's all Marketing. Buy what you like. Personally I'll buy a Chev first, then Titan, then a dodge, then either the tundra or ford. But that's just me.
Chevy, using American tax-payer dollars to build factories in Mexico since 2009.
They build mostly for the mexico market, Not like Ford. The escalade and truck used to be made down their it's built in Arlington since 2013. some sub compacts were built there but were either discontinued or just for the Mexican markets.
I love all American vehicles, but to simply call one "junk" is a bit absurd. All trucks have ups and downs. All are great in their own way.
It's true. Really. The all are good in their own way. I actually have 0 brand loyalty now. i used to but buy what I like and what i'm in the market for. Right now, it's a Nissan. Meh
That new titan is pretty awesome, who can't love that new 5.0 cummins?
My ram rebel is great and with the ram box and four corner air suspension hands down best ride BUT ford f150 would be my 2nd choice though I hate the time you hit bumps in that light aluminium body but is good truck.
FORD RULES
I can tell your a ford guy just by that statement. You probably know little to none about ford except that you or your relatives have one.
Jared Flaba that just some thing a dodge or chevy guy would say
Just stating probable facts.
as was i
AT SUCKING
Good vid guys!
I'm on my second Tundra. The first was a 2001 and now I have a 2013. They're completely different to each other, but both are great. I traded the 2001 Tundra in on new Silverado years ago (2006) and I have long regretted it. The Tundra was WAY better than the Silverado. The Chevy was in the shop at least once a month for different things. I'll never buy domestic again. MAYBE Ford, but I'll probably stick with Toyota.
Ford is a lot better
ford suck, even in power wheels
No.
Ram wins
ford is junk. ford just have a better sales game. ford have always made rust bucket vehicles. ford is so deceptive with there sales numbers. they include all f series trucks not just f150 s. they will not give exact f150 sales numbers. witch mean they don't sell as many more as they claim
Ford Mustang
Furd .. Built Turd Tough!
If u want to catch on fire and die then buy a gm or ram
ocala 1885
Google Ford Cruise controls fires... Not to mention Ford Pinto, Ford Crown Vic... All fireballs... Ur an idiot
Ecoboost + Max Tow and this isn't even a contest... .
even though the 4 coil setup is light years better than the torsion bars dodge was stuck to for so many years its nicer and more comfortable than the ford right out of the box but if you beat on it, it could break...the ford will put up more abuse as this is a corporate fleet truck and the dodge is more of a daily driver and weekend hauler...its nice to have three viable choices here in the usa again
Pick the truck you can afford and not what you can't afford. That is the real answer
Ok, let's discuss the price difference.
I'm happy with my 5.0 Supercharged Range Rover. But those trucks are pretty cute
Ram looks very nice in the interior and f150 seemed like there was a lot of plastic... Another reason to choose ram... How come ford does not have a cool name for their truck?
The Ecoboost out does the overrated Hemi. Stats say so, and tests do too. Dodge does have the best diesel, but transmission goes to GM trucks. They have the Allison transmission which is the best out there.
the 8 speed makes dodge total winner with close ratio where as the 6 speed trans puts engine rpm to high on ford and chev
Dodge doesn't have a diesel. The diesel is built by cummins which is a completely different company. Incidentally the truck itself is now built by Sterling which is why new Rams won't say "Dodge" anywhere on the truck. So technically speaking Dodge doesn't have a truck, period.
if you read my post i talked about transmission facts. ford is up to its 6th generation of diesel engines .its questionable if the 6.7 ford is a success. but dodge has basicly used 12 valve and 24 valve 5.9 and 6.7 . all a large success no matter how you hate them. cummins is the only real commercial built diesel. gm,s and fords diesels are consumer built.
Carlos Salinas
Haha... Ecoboost is pure shit
Best truck is the one that's paid for!
Both trucks are beautiful. But I love the f150 more.
short beds, four doors, no lockers or limited slip... why not just buy a minivan?
of course finding any base model truck (IE the useful variant) at a dealer is like looking for bigfoot these days...
These are the same trucks im trying to decide on getting when i get my licence
Ram is a lot better and looks like a beast... The f150 looks kind of weak and seems like it was having a tough time towing with all the noise it was making. In my opinion, Ram just looks cool and is quiet
Ram ecodeisel beats the Ford ecoboost all day long. It gets way better gad milage too. All the truck compqnies are going to start copying ram on that aspect. Plus the ram is tough as hell and it is still comfortable inside. When your outside the ram it looks mean, and when you are inside, it feels like a luxury car. Plus the ram has air suspension and it levels itself when carrying heavy loads.
When Dodge/Ram can make a truck without transmission and wiring issues and can make a truck that the front end doesn't rust and fall apart, then come talk to me.
Want to compare the PRICE of diesel vs gas ?? Then tell me that better mileage is more economical. Better mileage does not help if the fuel is too expensive.
So, who has experience with Ram, Ford, and Chevy? I mean, have owned all 3 before? What's the better one out of those?
I have had all 3 at one time or another. It's difficult to say which is better than the other, because they are all so closely matched nowadays. The last new truck I bought was in 2005, so I can't really say about the newer trucks, but in my opinion Ford offers the best all around truck. It has a good balance between power and performance, the most offerings as far as options, and good long term dependability. My 2001 Ram was my favorite as far as styling and had the smoothest ride, but it couldn't haul or tow as much as the others, it was the least powerful, and had marginal dependability at best. Also, it had the worst interior, the dash crumbled to pieces for no reason. My 1998 GM had the best engine, a 350, with good power but fairly bad fuel economy, but it did have the most comfortable interior. Honestly, any way you go, you really can't go wrong.
What are the specs of the trucks?
Need to add the Chevy/GMC to the contest.
F-150 because Ford didn't get bailed out.
ive always heard crap about ford imo most my family runs dodges and my nephew ran a ford ranger and it was super tough and i can say that for dodge or chevy s10
Nobody's gonna get a regular v6 they are gonna pick the eco boost cmon bro
My top half ton pickup studebaker champ pickup
Um why does his roar so much? I have a 2015 3.5 liter v6 f-150 and it pulls better and quieter then that idk what he's talking about.
What package
vi tty quy co thah
Is yours Naturally aspirated or forced induction. I think the f150 in the video is NA and is struggling more.
Viktor Step but this was a 2013 3.7L.
Yeah its definitely what I have in my driveway! Wouldn't buy a full size truck with a six cylinder engine, don't care how much horsepower!
We had 3 f-150 eco-boost at the company I used to work for. None of them ever averaged better than 15 mpg under any condition. They also struggled to pull trailers even older v6 Dakotas pulled just fine.
The one falsity that Ford does is that it TOTALLY discounts GM combined. If you combine GMC & Chevy together, GM actually outsells Ford. That said, the new Eco-Boost engines are very good.
Well with maybe a v8 I would definitely pick the ford I would even take the 4.6 liter if they still produce it
So why exactly did they test v6 trucks?
Because they're the reasonable choice?
Please show me an F-150 with a 3 on the Vin. Please because I am interested to know where you are getting your information. I read articles about this stuff a lot and do my own research. When I'm in the Parking lot ill glance over at a rams vin or a Chevy/GMCs vin. The dodges are a 3 most of the time. Chevys/GMCs do a better job but there are a majority of 3s. I'm not sure which test your taking buddy but its circle the answer not the problem. Btw do you even drive a truck?
Ill buy Ram/Chevy any day over Ford. I currently own a Ford and am dealing with cam phaser and valve failure at 108k miles. Not to mention minor 4x4 issues that have already been fixed, as well as all my window cables breaking. If I ever buy a truck again, I will only consider a Ram or Chevy. Ford can kiss my ass.
Thats I-8 not Borrego springs
tundra is by far the best truck period
ford and dodge are good trucks never settle for chevy
That's what you think, but that's not really appropriate...
+Trial Critics dont get me wrong i like the new ones just dont like the 2000-2006 models
oh, well for that it's okay, but you can see that chevy as now "upgraded", if you compare chevy now, 2015 model to a 2000-20006 model, of course it'll be better than the old ones.
i own a chevy silverado 2015' midnite edition. and it's my baby' i have a 5th wheel that's about 9000 pounds and i can pull it where ever i want too :)
+Trial Critics nice bro im thinking about trading my old 04 ford for one
that's a good choice because the chevy' silverado is really economic. and it's powerful!
Sorry but when u compare trucks please get the ram with the hemi and the ford with the ecoboost. More people opt for these engines so it will be a better comparison.
You're right, but we have plenty of reviews of those. Its nice to see how the base engines stack up against each other.
In the real world nobody would ever tow a travel trailer with a V6!
Is it the V that's the problem cause. Every semi truck on the road has a straight 6.
I do. Does great too
Just give me that Airstream and I'll tow it on my back.
My dad worked in the coal mines of eastern Kentucky for 20 years. His company bought ford trucks and they were turned on in the morning at 3 am and turned off in the night at 8 pm. They were rated for 3 tons in the bes and they would load 6 ton boulders in them and they would still hold up. These trucks were abused daily. They had 20 year old amployees going muddin and off roading in these things and they lasted 400,000 miles. After those wore out they experimented with Chevy. Lasted 2 years and the transmissions wore out also they had to replace the engines in them many times. No 6 toners in these 3 tom trucks. I'm not even going to talk Bout Toyota. Ford is a work truck and Chevy is a play truck. I'd like to see Chevy do an engine torture test just like ford did on their ecoboost v6. But it won't happen cause Chevy engine sucks!!!!
All engines besides ford sucks. Chevy is ok. Dodge and the other sucks shit
ooga guy
Sure dipshit... And all the Furd Turds at my work are shit by 50K.... Ur so full of shit...STFU

Furd engines are shit you fucking idiot.. From the Triton junk to all the Furd Turd diesels that need an extra 10 grand to bulletproof them... STFU
@@ramtrucks721 you're a dip shit! Just saying. Carry on Mr Ram.
@@ramtrucks721 Tritons are one of the most reliable engines ever made when given semi regular maintenance what are you even talking about
My 2014 RAM 1500 Quad Cab, 4X4, Hemi is a gem! It gets 20mpg on the interstate and averages about 13mpg around town. I have yet to hook anything to it that it could not pull with ease. And it handles heavy loads in the bed like no pickup I've ever driven or owned before....With possible exception of a Duce-and-a-Half that I drove now and then in the Army (I was a tanker not a truck driver). I grew up driving Fords and until I purchased a 2001 Dodge Dakota with the V-8 Magnum engine I did not know what a real truck was (Chevys and the various Japanese models are not even in the class as either the RAMs or Fords and I've owned several Japanese models and two Chevy/GMC pickups in my time) and will never again buy anything other than a RAM if I ever trade the one I have now!
v6 or not if you believe this truck gets 25 mpg pulling 5k your nuts
They barely get that not towing something let alone 5k
Finally a review on pickups people can actually afford.
All trucks are similar when it comes to towing and shit...we need to see some RELIABILITY TESTS... Which brands last longer... That's the best truck
Reliability as Far as these three trucks go:
Chevy>Dodge>Ford
Performance as far as these trucks go
Ford>Dodge>Chevy
Comfortness as far as these three trucks go:
Dodge=Ford>Chevy
This is probably the most honest list, all these trucks are great trucks, and are very reliable. Asian trucks are more reliable, but for whatever reason you can't do as much as these trucks.
Reliability and fuel economy are the most important features. Funny how all these review sights miss both of them.
*****
I never thought of that! Dam you've got a good point.
***** that's why the american government doesn't allow toyota to put diesels in their trucks because they know the big 3 will go bankrupt
guy proulx Proof?
All you haters of Dodge, Ford, Chevy, Toyota, and others are right and wrong. Yes, Ford sold more trucks, then Chevy, and Dodge. But remember the Lil red Dodge came out with its 5.2L, then chevy came out with its Syclone, and Ford with its lightning. It goes back and forth of-out-doing each other. All had its moment but for now it boils down to the V6 F150 vs Ram 1500. Ram is a 3.6L with 305 horse-power and 269 lb of torque. F150 is a 3.7L w/302 horse-power and 273 lb of torques. Only difference here is its transmission of F150 6 speed vs Ram 1500 8 speed and F150 4685 lb of weight vs Ram 1500 4514 lb of weight. Also F150 mileage gets 17 mpg city/23 highway vs Ram 1500 18 mpg city/25 highway.
Now the Ram 1500 came out with its Ecodiesel of 3.0L V6 of 240 horse power and 420 lb of torque vs the already two years running F150 Ecoboost of 3.5L V6 of 365 horse power and 420 lbs of torque. So it comes down to the mileage difference is Ram 1500 get 18 mpg city/28 highway.
So guys and gals do your homework because I know I did some but not all. Overall, is the fact is that each truck has its moments with its ups and downs. It all comes down again who will last this bragging rights before Dodge sold out to the Europeans and GM to the government.
Good Luck All and "can't we get along"
THANK YOU! Finally an intelligent comment!
