I haven't driven a Ram with the 3.6 but some other FCA vehicles like the minivan and Chrysler 300. Those felt a little lacking, I would that that would be amplified in the heavier truck.
I bet you could widen the gap ($10,000) price difference between those two trucks if you sat down and negotiated. Let’s say they discount the big horn by $15k and the new Hurricane motor only $5k to 8k until the shininess wears off the new powertrain
@@austindavis1984 That is possible. So interesting enough I have a ram 1500 rental with the Pentastar. I have had it for 2 weeks now. Just took a trip to Maryland from Monmouth County NJ. I averaged 20.8 mpg going to Perryville and coming home literally right around the same. I want driving 75mph ballpark the whole time. Honestly, its a heavy truck but although not terrible I do not think giving up the hurricane is worth it for that mileage. If I got 25mpg or more I could see it. It is adequate in this size truck but If you need to tow anything this engine would struggle for sure
@@lucyfan1976 I've never driven a pentastar. However I was planning on getting one due to everyone saying the mpg is better, they are reliable and more reliable than the Hemi from what I have heard and it's good enough to do what I would need to do which is drive, haul stuff on occasion but not super heavy and not everyday. But in this case of the new ones, I would say the hurricane is worth getting over the pentastar due to the power and the mpg not being anywhere close to being significant enough to not get it. I'm interested in seeing the reliability long term of the hurricane and how long it may last. It seems like it will be a good engine. I'll miss the V8 but as long as the reliability is there with the hurricane then I will not complain.
It has a traction motor generator, battery pack and regenerative braking classifying it as a mild hybrid. And because of that fact I got a tax break and HOV clean pass because it falls in that category.
@CTECH-REVIEW Stallantis has 14 brands under there belt. I bet not one is in the top 10 for reliability. That's what they should focus on if they want to keep customers!
I recently purchased a new 2024 Bighorn with the 3.6. Now at 3000 miles on it. Cruise set at 70 mph flat land in getting 27 mpg.
I believe it, that engine is incredibly efficient!
I have a '23 with the 3.6, set the cruise at 75, and can get 22-24 all day
I did too as well
The v6 is definitely more than most people need. But this is America, more power!
Heck yes!
I'm keeping my 2017 Ram 1500 with the hemi forever. I get 22 on road trips 17-18 mixed city. Paid $33k for my truck brand new.
Thanks for watching
For a long term daily driver the Pentastar is the better choice IMO.
Thanks for watching!

There surprisingly not bad in the truck !

Good point!
I'm wondering how much horsepower the 3.6 would have been if they'd put dual turbos on it?
That would be interesting!
Does the v6 engine has the dipstick or Ram removed it too?
I do not know yet!
Can you shut the start/stop feature? Usually you can.
Yes I believe so!
@CTECH-REVIEW fantastic. great review by the way. Loved it.
Can you put a turbo charge on the 2025 1500 3.6 pentastar
Great question I am not sure. I believe there are some companies that make superchargers for them
What about a super charger 🤔
There is no demand!
Thanks for watching!
The difference is so minor I would do the hurricane all the way.
That’s my thoughts also!
If the pentastar mog does not increase in general then I would agree with this by far not worth losing power if the mpg stays that slight.
I say this because I have heard once you get 8-10k on a pentastar that the mpg increases due to it getting broke in. Correct me of I am wrong.

Hurricane
Thunder!!
And a mechanic renting your spare bedroom.
The Pentastar powertrain is NOT a Hybrid, not even close!
Thanks for the watching!
That’s why they call it a mild hybrid

Do some research. If you have to have a RAM. Stellantis is hurting. Rams are just sitting on the lot.. call the shots on pricing. Major discounts.
I agree. Get a deal!

In my opinion v6 car are for teens not a grown adult
Thank you for the comment
That makes absolutely no sense. However, I like looking at the Ram but would never own one. Reliability blows.
@@joeb2588The 3.6 is a very reliable engine. 3.0 however, no.
