- “If you love them, let them go. If they come back, they’re yours forever, but if they don’t come back they were never yours to begin with...”
This phrase often comes from well-meaning friends or family who love you, see the pain in your relationship, and don't want you to get hurt. And while they’re well-meaning, this just isn't true.
For example, if your spouse is chasing after something (or someone) and it could cause them and others a lot of pain and hurt, you love them enough to rescue them.

Now is there anything you need to let go of? Well, yes. If you love someone, you need to let go of CONTROLLING them. Don't say, “If that’s what makes you happy, go do it.” Instead, accept where they're at. Don’t control and don't cling. Do the right things to stand for your marriage...

I've been wondering about this phrase. I think I heard what you're saying to do without being controlling. My problem is that my wife moves things really fast. Its been almost 3 weeks since she filed for divorce, but about 5 weeks since she told me her plan to divorce. I believe she found a new house before filing and is about to close on it. Where I live the divorce can be final 60 days after I receive the summons. Very little contact is made right now. MarriageHelper feels like the best support system. You can’t force them to be with you!! So you have to let them go! That’s what I believe. If they left the house and they divorce you... what else can you do?

This is excellent. I agree YOU CANNOT CONTROL ANYONE. But you can love harder without you being clingy.
I watch tons of your videos to try and help me wirk on making my marriage work as my husband has had this on off 5 year affair with the same woman. I could see years ago that she was a user. My husband doesn't want to watch ANY video or join a group to help us. If I mentioned for us to go to a workshop he'd run as fast as he could. This past 3 months of trying to make things work while he was seeing 'her' has been horrendous and very traumatic for me. Eventually she let him down big time and he's ended it with her which is great news. He then came to my house (we've been living apart for 2 years) to tell me what happened. I asked him what now, what do we do? He said lets give us another try. The problem is I'm niw not sure if I want to! I'm worn out and physically drained from any feelings towards him. I actually now feel like second best and I know I'm worth more than that. So what I've come up with is for us to see each other on specific days Wednesdays, Saturdays and every other Tuesday and for the time being I don't want us to share a bed. By the way he's 77 and I'm 62. His now ex mistress is 72.
If I let tgem go, then theres no coming back for them. When I let someone go because they are chasing someone else, then they're gone forever.

I’m 50 and she’s 45… we have been together 20 years and have 17 & 15 year old sons at home. She’s walked away from us and we are devastated. It seems family members have all the answers even when that family member is in an unGodly relationship. That family member has chose to have extra- marrital relationships yet is still married. That person is running around hiding all their cheating ways.
If you have to let them go your already in the wrong. We don't own or possess a spouse.

Sorry for yours as well. I’m actually doing the save my marriage course. So far things have been a lot better. Not like it was but better. I have proof of the affair but I have confronted her yet. It’s actually working in my favor. Their affair is so rocky I know it won’t last.
Rodney D that’s how I feel. Right now we are separated. So it upsets me he is there. But I know it won’t last. It’s just something she needs to see for herself. I haven’t told her about this marriage course or anything. Not sure she wants that. I’m just taking it a day at a time

That’s it bro. One day at a time. My wife affair partner is another woman 🤦♂️. Which I feel is worse. We’re not separated and still have sex sometimes but still painful. My is so jealous of the other woman. At some point it will eventually drive her away.
Well when you're married 37 year's she leaves in a cruel, ruthless manner and says that there's nothing to work on, don't let her come back. Suck it up, Pony up rent her a spot to move her stuff and stay,pay temporary support until the divorce you pay all costs for is final, then you will see alimony is not such a high price for peace in your home. No price is worth your peace.

I loved my husband for 29yrs....i fought for him against a lifestyle that was affecting us both, for 29yrs.... he chose that over me every day... in the end I left... he's still living that way... sometimes YOU are just not enough for them... you could die for them, and they still would continue... i now have a man that knows what it is to love me! We are all different.... my idea of a marriage was different to my ex's.... i still worry about him from time to time but it was never in my control.... love doesn't fix everything I'm afraid... and personally, if my hubby came home and told me he was wanting someone else... he'd be leaving with his suitcase!

Speaking of BS. If the man's wife wants to leave him to find herself, she is not concerned about her husband or the relationship. She is following her hypergamous nature and looking to upgrade (or has already done so). Why would you ever want to be her Plan B?
Why don't you share some of the reasons why I should not let my wife go? You are still presenting scenarios like I am doing something wrong. Working hard to provide for the home is my love. Cheating wife is not anything any man should fight for. Let them go!
I loved him and fought soooo hard wrong or right to keep him or get him to try and fight for the relationship. But he said implied and cheated and made him crazy so that's why he left. He also told me that I am drama, baggage and history and he is done. He is the one the cheated and lied and I forgave and stayed many time over that I lost my sanity and it about killed me.
I even went along with the fact he wanted the divorce so I gave him what he asked for ( it was a little messy).
Now that I gave up and stopped trying and do not want him back he is trying yet he is " FREAKING RE MARRIED" NO I am good I dont want that life again and I do not want a manchild. No man would have ever walked out after getting someone pregnant and no man would have told that woman to get an abortion because he thinks she views him as an ATM for asking for child support.
Did she just compare her husband to a 3 year old? WOW! That has got to be one of the worst analogies!
