I in think that brain cancer is the worst of cancers. It is just devastating. So many actresses and singers throughout the years have died from brain cancer

Quintessential Bette Davis role, despite miscastings of Bogart as an Irish horse trainer and Reagan as a playboy

Take away the Irish Brogue and you can see the man who would become Casablanca's Rick. If you want to see Ronald Reagan's finest performance, check out "King's Row"

Judith is getting headaches and blurred vision, etc. A doctor operates on her and then finds out she'll die anyway. Ann said "you shouldn't have touched her". Is she right?
I happen to be a medical skeptic because there is too much evidence that the "cure" is often worse than the disease. Even the doctor said he was leaving brain surgery because as he asked "do you know the mortality rate of brain surgery patients"?
I personally would never get brain surgery or most other extreme medical procedures because I know the risks. In Judith's case I would have prescribed her to stop smoking and drinking, have a holistic diet, and take herbs and vitamins instead of surgery. Maybe she would die anyway, but maybe she would get better without being harmed by surgery.
The hippocratic oath says "first do no harm". Unfortunately most doctors do more harm than good...except to their finances.

Almost all medical professionals have seen “futile care” being performed on people. That’s when doctors bring the cutting edge of technology to bear on a grievously ill person near the end of life. The patient will get cut open, perforated with tubes, hooked up to machines, and assaulted with drugs. All of this occurs in the Intensive Care Unit at a cost of tens of thousands of dollars a day. What it buys is misery you would not inflict on a terrorist.
It’s easy to find fault with both doctors and patients in such stories, but in many ways all the parties are simply victims of a larger system that encourages excessive treatment. In some unfortunate cases, doctors use the fee-for-service model to do everything they can, no matter how pointless, to make money. More commonly, though, doctors are fearful of litigation and do whatever they’re asked, with little feedback, to avoid getting in trouble.
