Andre Maquarre- Daily Exercises For The Flute… THE best daily workbook ever. Melodious, all keys major and minor, all flute ranges. I can’t believe few flutists know about it. My professional peers in LA do…
Hi Tatiana I can’t thank you enough for all your teachings, Thank you for the books that you recommend us I started with the 30 exercises, the first one.
GOD BLESS YOU! 😍
A big hug from Colombia, SA
Pleasure and glad to hear it!
thank you, nice overview!
Your explaining well. And cover much subject into details.
Know your helping a pan flute player too. Thanks!
Ah, I studied in Italy on exactly the same books! Sadly I'm not able tu play professionally due to a chronic illness diagnosed when I was 25 BUT I find it sweet that all over the world, musicians study on the same books :-)
Your videos are so enjoyable and you're so nice, why don't you do also more "light topic" videos, not only educational ones?
Hey there!
I definitely feel I want to do some more of these. Totally agree. What type of topics would you enjoy seeing with a good dose of humor😜
@@TheFlutePractice oh wow, obviously the exact moment i read your reply my mind became a blank slate... no ideas -_- ... veeery annoying. I'll think about it.. but in the tradition of good old brainstorming, why don't you do a video about it so others can suggest their wishes? so you could gain inspiration ...
awesome!
Even as a trad player on a Boehm instrument I would recommend these .
I have problem opening the free source links. Are they still available?
Thanks.
Hi Tats, the Moyse 480 is written in triplets, that way the notes on the downbeat alternate. You seemed to demo ex.
1 in 2's. ??? ...
Whats the best book for beginners self learners for fingering and notes? Thank you
Hi there, nice video! Can I ask, what microphone do you use in your video?
Great video, but couldn’t open the free resources. Are they still available?
Į have a question: after playing my jawbone is cracking. Iš it something wrong with my playing, ambouchure ir something?
mn z hmmm. Sounds like you may have a bit too much tension in your jaw. Try focus on letting. The jaw just hang a bit feeling space between your back teeth as you play!
This was very helpful! Do you mind if I ask where you purchase your music/technique books being in SA? The local shops are quite limited, and I'm always afraid to try Amazon or Sheet Music Plus because I have no idea what the customs costs would be.🙈 Thanks!
I have done both and had better and worse success. One book arrived, the other got completely lost! grrr. Sheet music plus does work though. Otherwise, give All Music in Brackenfell a call. They are pretty good and will probably be able to order the books for you :)
Are these books also suitable for baroque flute?
I'm confused-my copy of Reichert doesn't have the thirds and sixths at all for #6 and #7. What am I missing?
The 3rd and 6ths are in the Taffanel and Gaubert 💪🏼
@@TheFlutePractice, ah! No wonder I wasn't finding them in the Reichert, then! 😁🤗
@@TheFlutePractice , found them-but only in C major! Are we supposed to mentally transpose them into all the other keys, then?
wich one with a complete begginer? :) (I do not have the luxury to have a teacher because of where I live)
Ale rgon for beginner i think you dont need any, you can learn how to play the flute from youtube. Until you decided to push your limit and get a book that talks about your weak spot.
I love your videos, but I never can find these links you talk about.
They are in the description but here they are again:

How Marcel Moyse smoking a pipe will help with your breathing exercises?
As long as its pipe tobacco and not weed I'm sure he was able to manage, but ya I was a half a pack a day smoker for 3 years 20+ years ago and I'm not sure how I could do it again and play the flute as a smoker now. Pipe smoking is not the same as cigarette smoking though. I mean the smoke is still bad for your mouth but most pipe smokers don't inhale. You still end up inhaling some but on a scale of 1-3 I'd say cigarettes are the worst due to the frequency and emphasis on inhaling, cigars are next but if you don't smoke them often then they aren't as bad long-term. By that I mean maybe one or two cigars a year or one every 2 or 3 years. Pipe smoking could be placed though in either the #2 or #3 spot depending on frequency. My father smoked a pipe quite a bit and was a guitarist but he never played wind instruments. Sadly he died of cancer and the pipe smoking may have contributed to it even though there is a hereditary genetic component to the type of cancer he had. My grandfather some how lived a lot longer than my father and smoked all his life which is strange to me since he was a pack a day smoker. I like cigars once every few years but since I decided to start playing the flute last year I've decided never to smoke again. Smoking in general is bad if you play a wind instrument. You need strong lungs to play well and at your fullest. I regret the 3 years I smoked. I used to get really nasty saliva, cough, and headaches. Not worth the trouble. In Marcel Moyse's time though it was perfectly acceptable without much taboo and there wasn't as much information or concerns as there are now. If you play the flute and currently don't smoke don't start smoking as you'll only hurt your progress short term and long-term.
You don’t inhale pipe smoke.
