Balm to my soul, having been born in Middle Tennessee and raised in North Alabama. I had to live 85 years to realize this is the good life. May God bless all your efforts to teach people the real meaning of life on earth. I am not on social media now, but I will find a way to share your Life in Appalachia series. Thank you for your gift of love to us.
Nancy-that means a lot to me-thank you for sharing!! So glad you enjoyed the video!!
I agree Nancy Patterson. We got a touch of paradise. I have loved everything I have seen about Appalachian living. I love the music and PAP was amazing on the guitar and I think his son was too. I am trying to put the names together, and I think it was his son and granddaughter’s singing with him. They had so many blessings and I think they all knew it.
Tipper, I love these silent posts! Well their not entirely silent they have music and a few words, but you know what I mean. I love the way it floats into and out of different parts of your life with no need for comment...just life being lived.
If there was no musical background I think folks would be surprised how very silent it can be here in the mountains. The profound silence is one of the things I love about living here in the mountains!
Miss Cindy-thank you for watching! I love the silence too 😀
Amen Cindy there us nothing better than the stillness in the mountains. I thank God that He let me live her.
They are good, hardworking people who live with less material things, and seem like loving, strong people. They remind us that America is a melting pot of people, they make their lives work with less. Musicians as well! Thank you for opening your lives for us to see. Reminds me that people with strong values, love of God, country and family are still out there, and it’s inspiring to see . Honorable people. Thank you.
the people of these mountains had to be hardy and helpful to each other. My husband spent almost 2 yrs working in the north GA mountains and he fell in love with the mountains and the people.
The simple good life......the rest of the world do not know what they are missing. I grew up back in the holler in West Virginia and I can relate to so much of this. Thank you for a great video....you have a fine family.
@dw hunter -- Me being from a large city, the moment I moved to a small town, I had no idea of what simplicity was until I moved out here. I'd rather live with simplicity than in the rat race drama. You know what I mean?
I was born and raised up a holler in southern West Virginia
Thank you for helping me see the culture of where my family comes from. I always wondered where was the culture of America but now I see it right here. God bless you!
This was just wonderful! I enjoyed every second and can't wait for you to do another! Such a blessing to visit with you this morning and see peeks into your Appalachian lives!
So glad you enjoyed it!!
Now THATS a good cast iron skillet and perfect egg sammach.
Thank you for watching 😀
I sure enjoyed the series of videos. I grew up as a kid goin 2 my uncles farm in the MO Ozark mountains so cud relate 2 some things
@@andreacloyd3672 hill people are hill people. doesn't matter on what side of the Mississippi. I was raised in the Ouachitas

I’ve been watching this channel for a few months now. I never get bored. I always come away learning something new, every time. I love the Pressley girls channel, as well. I am sure you are very proud of your family. 😊
Great to hear! Thank you!
Beautiful scenes and a flood of memories has kept me busy all this morning! Thank You for your video efforts..... I am enriched by your works!
Your videos are story time and teaching I love them bc even when you don’t talk I’m listening and learning - and watching you cook with cast iron brings memories of my mom and aunties omg that breakfast sandwich with Mayo yes mam. 😋👏🏽 🥪 .
So glad I make you think of your mom and aunties!!
Cooking eggs in the bacon fat in a cast iron skillet. Doesn't get any more home cooked than that people
So nice to be reminded of daily chores and routines x o
Thanks for watching!!
This is why I love my fireplace. Best asset ever.
Damn ! An egg sandwich ,that's some Tennessee mess right there ! I grew up eating egg sandwiches . I live in rural Wisconsin now. Love your channel. Can't wait till y'all do some videos on canning and preserving food.
Made it real for me when I seen the Helman's.🤣
We eat egg sandwiches in Texas too. A favorite. When I was 2.....67 years ago....we had a family emergency and had to make a rush trip about 4 hours away in the middle of the night. While we were packing to leave my grandmother made us egg sandwiches. She had never made them before. A while down the road my mother gave one to my father to eat while he was driving. The runny yolk ran down his arm. What a mess! 😂
That's our daily breakfast but it's Duke's in this house.
Here it is, springtime, and I'm totally enjoying your Christmastime video. I remember my Mom made our little house so festive and cute for the holidays in the same way.
This popped up after tonight’s vlog! ITS CRAZY GOOD! Then I noticed it’s from 3 years ago AND I LOVE IT! now I have to watch 1,3,&4 OUTSTANDING and now at 9pm I’m hungry all over again! Love u TIPPER❤
Thank you!!
So happy that I found your channel!! Great videos. Living with in the mountains is not easy. A lot of hard work but so worth it!! God bless!!

Greetings Ms Tipper, so glad your channel has grown strong...wishing you all the best..blessings to you and your family 😇 👪...
Thanks so much 😀
I’m a city girl who’s lived in California almost all my life. I’ve always dreamed of life in the wilderness or off grid in a beautiful picturesque place like yours. I’m really enjoying your videos. Thank You so much for sharing your life with us. I find a lot of peace watching your life. God’s Blessing to you and your family✝️
And folks who grew up in Appalachia do not want anything to do with CA residents. Hollywood, your governor, your big town and 'wrong in all those ways life' is what easterners reject, with good reasons.
like it or not they are coming because they have ruined their own state LOL
@@DougHinVA What a mean response. I bet you call yourself a christian, too.
@@wolfgangi You've obviously never been to California. Besides, many of the appalachian communities have been ruined by mining and chemical leaks in the water sources, so don't be so smug.
She made a kind comment and you have to come in with “we want nothing to do with your kind”
What compelled you to make such a nasty reply? Not a good look.
Your videos are so relaxing. Great content, getting back to basics!!
The glass in the yogurt section with the froth from the yogurt. Looks like the glass my Grandmother’s snuff use to come in.
I like the deer rack on top of the Christmas tree instead of a star. Nice videos. I’m in Winston Salem. Just found your channel.
My family andI were recently in Franklin and Murphy. Are you in that area? I wish I was closer to the mountains
My wife makes her cornbread the same way with oil in the skillet heated up and ready for the cornbread mix.
I love to watch you cook !
New to your beautiful channel. It’s 9pm and now I’m wanting breakfast!
Loved the song and love your channel! It’s a nice mix of a little bit of everything.
Thanks so much!!
I am new to your channel and enjoy it very much. You have a beautiful family and an awesome way of life thank you for sharing
Thank you so much!
I enjoy your videos, such great things you share.💕👍
Thank you so much!
Even just the music on this video was worth just listening too. I enjoyed it all. Thanks
Oh my gosh! 69 yrs old and I’ve never seen the pipe used for watering the tree! Alll those years crawling under the prickly tree!! 😂🙄🤷🏼♀️
the life these people live has to be the greatest life in the world i envy them to the upmost
I've always dreamed of living either totally off grid or partially, and owning chickens and meat rabbits. Right now I'm learning to make bread and I've just bought wheat berries to make my own flour. I do garden and grow herbs🙂
Beautiful tree ,and that sandwich was my dads all time favorite !!you all are awesome !!!
Thats awesome...pretty much the same way in northern lower peninsula of Michigan and the upper peninsula of Michigan
There's an art 2 startin a good fire & keeping it goin
Maybe do a video on Pentecostal churches in your region! I love your cuisine...I am a guy and cook my own vittles.
I LOVE YOUR VIDEO'S IT REMINDS ME OF MY CHILDHOOD IN EASTERN KENTUCKY . GIVE THE MOMMA IN THAT HOUSE HOLD A A+ SHE DOES A FINE JOB KEEPING EVERYTHING GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION .
Was that Miss Cindy's hand that was cutting on one of the girls hair? These videos are very special and something to look back on. Like the old time home movies ❤
It was 😀 glad you enjoy them!
I love the Christmas tree! That skillet gets a workout! I was wondering what was that you were making when you poured the whole bowl of a milky batter into the skillet? We never saw the result!
I thought it was cornbread :)
I think it was fried bread. My Grandma fried biscuits. They were delicious.
Hoe cake (small bread round) but I could never turn it over right.
Having been born and raised in the hills of the Ouachitas and now living in the Ozarks this doesn't seem different.
Eventually, I get around to watching all of your episodes at least once. I’m in admiration of your way of life, family and that glass iced coffee pitcher. Do you remember where you got it???
Thank you! My mother n law gave it to me ages ago. It was her grandmother's. I'm not sure what came in it originally, but she said her grandmother used it for milk 😀
@@CelebratingAppalachia I wrote a reply back, and it disappeared.
I love that you have items that have deep sentimental meaning with a story attached to it.
I have purchased several pitchers with a handle that were made of mason jars, and I loved all of them.
But yours is unique that it seems to have a mason top lid, and yet the shape is unique.
@@KimOpperman I am very sentimental for sure 😀Hope you have a great week ahead!
beautiful video, music is also nice but after 5 minutes listening to the repetitions I had to turn de volume down but anyway I saw the video till the end, thank you so much.
I didn't want to click this, I had to. Then made a sandwich the same way!!
Awesome
so pretty...setting up
I still use a percolator coffee pot.
P.S. sound like us from Georgia deep south barefooted folk after having chittli fry 🤩😅🤔♥️
I notice I get hungry watching nearly every one of your videos lol. hey I have a question. I am originally from Northern California so I've been a big San Francisco Giants fan my whole life. Do people know who Madison Bumgarner is around where you are? He helped us win three world series so he's a big hero around where I grew up. He's also one of the greatest post season pitchers of all time. I think he's from not far where you are in North Carolina. A town called Hickory I believe. Is that considered Appalachia? I've been a big fan of his for a long time. MadBum!
Thomas-I'm not familiar with him, but that don't mean nothing because I'm not into sports 😀. Hickory is farther east in NC more of the Piedmont region than the mountains.
@@CelebratingAppalachia yea I just saw it on the map. I guess there’s a whole bunch of Bumgarners in the area. Apparently it’s a huge family.
Love your video, please tell what your making and how to make it, like that yogurt or what are you making when you put all that batter in the iron pan , beautiful music all so .
Where did you get those colorful mixing bowls? Love your videos
I've had them for a long time-my mother-n-law gifted them to me. Thanks for watching 😀
In Texas we see good o’l biscuits and gravy we say
“Lord have mercy!”
In West Texas usually in the cotton flats it sounds more like
“Lorda Mercy!”
It can be a positive or negative expression
Positive
Lord Have Mercy = it’s too much (too good) Lord have mercy!
Negative
Lord Have Mercy = Oh that’s terrible! Lord Have Mercy
That’s the video it skipped double comment I apologize
Swell job on violin
Dang squirrel. 🤣
Subscribed last week and working my way through. I love that Christmas Tree especially the garland, is it hand made? This has peeked my interest I would love to try and make it if possible.
Thank you-so glad you're enjoying my videos! Yes the garland is handmade. I made it years ago and to be honest I can't really remember where I got the materials from. I sort of braided them together to make short garlands.
😍
I cannot believe your not using Duke's mayo
Making Southern food on RUclips. ❤️
I'd think sourwood honey is common up your neck of the woods. The years I lived and worked the highlands of east Tennessee it the first time for tasting sourwood honey and ive been spoiled ever since. When I do have the chance to visit I load up the truck. I use for hot lemon and honey drink and honey baked pecans. Bout to visit again making hot lemon and honey very day it disappears rather fast. Its such a treat watching your video, if I believed in term fans Id be one
Thanks Larry! I love sourwood honey and you're right its common here 😀
Tipper, do you have a recipe for hone made yogurt?
Here't the recipe I use: blindpigandtheacorn.com/making-yogurt-is-easy/ 😀
I see he likes a little eggs with his mayonnaise! Lol!
By the way, what was that you were cracking/crushing in the plastic bag?
😀 Yep! The meat in the bag was fresh deer tenderloin.
@@CelebratingAppalachia that was my guess.

It's hard for me to watch a whole video.......for some reason I feel the need to fetch myself some vittles as soon as these vids start.....l do enjoy your lifestyle iffin I was there I'd help ya redd up the kitchen then go help yer man with the chores ta earn my keep
I ain't never tried homemade yogurt. Does it taste anything like buttermilk?
I wouldn't be showing your mayonnaise. It says it's real mayonnaise but it ain't. If it ain't Dukes it ain't real mayonnaise! Why I bet that Hellmans is made in China or one of them other foreign countries over there.
😀 Everyone has a favorite mayo! Yogurt doesn't really taste like buttermilk, but you might like it!
@@CelebratingAppalachia I wonder if there's a way for people to get their taste buds tested. You can get your sight tested, your hearing tested, you can even get a skin sensitivity test. But there is no test for smell or taste. What a shame!
You know I'm kidding don't you? I just don't know how to do them smiley face things. My great grandma was a Smiley so that makes me part of a Smiley. It just feel don't right!
@@papaw5405 I know you're teasing 😀 Now you've got me to wondering about taste bud testing LOL!
@@papaw5405 I ate dukes till i tried the best, Hellmann's . i never went back to dukes.
@@boathead22000 I'm the opposite! I tried every other brand until I discovered Dukes. I worked for 37 years at a food distributor so I am familiar with them all.
Dukes, by itself, is too salty but if you adjust that in your food, you achieve a far superior taste. But everybody's taste buds are different. Just remember though, Hellmann's is owned by Unilever. They make soap!
Sorry , but when I see you using Hellmans instead of DUKES , I must say that it makes me question yalls authenticity....LOL
Just ran across your videos a few days ago... loving them !
I have to mute because the music is irritatingly loud. Your video is nice as it is without the music, just the natural sound of your chores.
Watch "My Self Reliance" who works without music and has million subscribers.
I'll pass you on and try to watch you some other time.
Thumbs down for the loud music
Love My Self Reliance! Thank you for the feedback 😀 I've only been making videos a short time and have a lot to learn!
Your videos are pretty good, it'd be nicer if you just talk about what you're doing because your theme is a depiction of the Appalachian life with which a lot of your RUclips viewers are probably curious and more interested about. If I want music, I will just do Spotify. Curiosity about the Appalachian is what brought me to your Vlog.
Keep it going though!
I love the music, I just turn the volume down.
don't you dare stop the music.....don't change a thing this is your life not theirs and music is a part of your life....it worries me though to here you say there isn't enough time to do certain things you used to do and I'm sure its trying to keep up with all of your media chores that have made it hard to have a your normal life you had before....I know this is the path you and your husband have chosen to make some extra money ......but alittle extra money has ruined a lot of people including this country.....but in saying all that i do love your videos and hope you keep doing them.....just do in moderation so you can keep your life just the way it is....ps your daughters are priceless.....i wish my son was a few years younger id send him to the mountains to ask one for a date.....lol..... we live in the piedmont of n.c
@@CelebratingAppalachia that's right Tipper don't change a thing in your life! The music is beautiful! Please don't let these videos change a thing in your life or your families! Keep it up! I could watch your channel all day every day. Reminds me so much of growing up in my mamaw's and papa's house. They moved to Michigan when my momma was 9 years old for a better life than papaw working his self to death in the mines. All my memories are filled with all the things I learned from them, I see on your channel. Even though I grew up a "yankee" my heart and soul has always resided in Appalachia. Even though we were poor by mens standards we were rich in our history and family ties.

Love this. My daughter dated an Appalachian guy in his 20s. She lives in a rich area. He did not want to be in her world. He was scared. Hope he takes care. Always good to know what world you want to be in when you marry.
Nothing against your daughter, but I dont believe he was scared, just smart!
@@bdickinson6751 It saved them both a turbulent relationship. I think of him a lot. Unemployed, not concerned about it, 25 and no health insurance. He has a degree but not interested in making a way for himself. It is hard growing up. His own friend told him “she is out of your league”. That type of nonsense holds people back. I disagree. He was scared. It’s hard to decide to not live on welfare. He had all the right tools but what he told himself and what his friend told him will keep him unemployed.
🤮
@@mitzibritt4093 I know it sounds that way but I definitely do not want to live on government aid myself. My husband was an Appalachian and broke out of it like JD. Vance did. From 1995-1999, I lived off the grid in the woods of Washington state, in Port Townsend (just northeast of Seattle). My bf built an iron stove similar to the one here and I built many a fire in it...seeing this one brought back so many memories!
We, too, always kept a dutch oven of water on top for washing...we brought our water in on a wheelbarrow in 10-gallon jugs with spouts, and Christopher said, "We have hot and cold running water." No electricity, though, no internet or even a phone for two years. The best years of my life...so far!
