I just bought this and there is definitely a learning curve if you want a decent looking result. I was a paste-up artist in advertising back in the day, so I know my way around scalpels and rulers... I'm having a hard time 😬

I own one of these which I used a lot about 10 years ago. I'm an art graduate, I'm dexterous and yet, I could not once get a neat looking cut with this.
Currently looking online for tips on how to get the perfect cut.

@@solcastro9180 Thanks for replying. I haven't used it since, but plan to practice using it at some point. I wonder if it's easier with the belonging ruler. The groove might just hold the cutter and blade in place, so the cut comes out cleaner. Do you have the ruler? And if so, did it make a difference? I wish you good luck with getting a perfect cut :-)

Mine doesn't come with a ruler and i figure the rule is necessary cause otherwise you can't slide on mark

I think it doesn't exist anymore. The modern revision of the MC-45 doesn't have a rim that you could drop into the groove. It's completely flat down under, which is a shame!
