Many people mistakenly believe that joining ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) means abandoning their parents and becoming a monk. However, this is rarely the case. Only a few individuals choose to become brahmacharis (celibate monks) and live in temples, and this decision is typically made with the consent of their parents and when their family's financial situation allows it. Most ISKCON devotees are householders who continue to live with their parents. The fear that ISKCON devotees leave home without informing their parents is often based on misinformation spread by videos and rumors. In reality, those who may have left their homes without notice have usually returned, and these incidents are personal mistakes, not reflective of ISKCON’s practices. ISKCON is a large organization with diverse members, and while errors can occur, the organization takes responsibility and strives to minimize such events. Instead of fearing brainwashing by ISKCON, concerns should be directed towards more pressing issues like drug abuse, misleading media advertisements, online gambling, and addictive web series.

Since now almost 1.5 months I am visiting Iskon temple every day, after all my entrance exam.It's really a piece of heaven for me , after evening prayer there is a geeta session every day i always participate in it, really wonderful.
The beauty of having সাধু সাঙ্গ -(friendship with sadhus) is really of next level, one will never understand until one go through it. ..

Srila Prabhupada is 100% available in his vani and vapu forms. In a letter dated Dec. 14, 1972, Srila Prabhupada wrote, “Next you ask if I am present in my picture and form? Yes. In form as well as in teachings.” And on Sept. 4, 1972, he wrote, “There is no difference between me and my picture”.

When students are drifted away from Bhakti to Krishna and core teaching of Acharya, made a blind follower of charismatic centre leader / preacher etc. they are indoctrinated into fanaticism . It's not about just ISCKON. Many went on to become great Advaita teachers like Acharya Prashant, Swami Mukundananda, Swami Sarvapriyananda etc. I feel these people already had a spiritual upbringing within their family background and later on in their life realised the necessity to know and spread divine knowledge.

Then after sometime they can take sanyasa and move on their spiritual journey.. even if they want to take full time brahmacharya,they can work for sometime to support their parents lifetime and understand the need of society better by discivering the issues in various corporates or sectors of society..
We must focus on increasing the spiritual enlightenment of more established individuals rather than just students..

@@directioner9307 i went through it.....and iam still part of it......indeed i turned into a lot better person but i feel like our mentors are highly determined to turn us into preachers and its selfish to say I don't want to be one, i include spirituality (i follow 4 regulatory priciples and chant few rounds) in my life and i want to live my life as i dreamed as a child
