@@hothotheat3000 It's frustrating I'd stopped recording moments before. And if i"m honest, given her anger it was not on my mind at the time. By the way, thanks for watching :)
Appreciate the honest reviews! It's absolutely UNACCEPTABLE for you a paying customer to be yelled out by their staff. I don't care if it's business class, economy class, or at McDonald's, that's just horrible.
I assume that member of ground staff was trained by U.S. customs and immigration as they seem to have dropped the words pleas and thankyou from their vocabulary.
@@Lakesider52 it does seem that way sometimes, but I have met some really nice folks at the US airports too. You just don't remember them usually, because you are in a rush. People mostly remember the bad experiences.
@@leflores91 Who is "we?" TSA staff or Turkish Airlines ground staff. If you work for the former, you really should have a better standard of English but more importantly, being polite to customers does not cost a penny so always say please and thank-you.
@@leflores91 I'm not making any assumptions apart from perhaps incorrectly assuming that staff working on the frontline at a major international airport would be given some "cultural awareness" training. If that had been the case, I'm sure staff would have been advised about using the words please and thank you. Even staff at airports in non-English speaking countries I have visited use those words.
I flew Business Class from Hong Kong in August this year with Turkish Airlines. It was an emergency as my father was ill in the UK. My hubby booked business to ensure I was fresh when I arrived as I was going straight to the hospital. At Heathrow, my luggage didn't arrive and the line at the Turkish Airlines baggage desk was endless, I asked the guy there that I had to get to the hospital asap and he said I could fill out the details of my lost baggage online. So I left. My father died within hours of my arrival. After a number of attempts to fill in the online form I had very little luck and my son even spent 2 hours at Heathrow the following day to enquire about my luggage, but no joy. To sum up, I ended up buying clothes, a dress, shoes and jacket for my one-week stay, I did not get my luggage until the day before I left to go back to HK. They asked for 60gbp to send it to me the day before, which was madness. I have since written a complaint letter to the Turkish Airlines London Office, and filled out endless forms about my baggage to get compensation for the expenses I incurred to buy a few things. It is a matter of principle and compassion...but nothing from Turkish Airlines. I am quite shocked at their silence and complete disregard for my situation, considering it was their own man who told me to go online. I don't normally travel business class, but this was a very sensitive visit and the days that followed were very sad and stressful with all the hassles with Turkish Airlines.

Plenty of great honest reviews. Just because it suits your opinion or negative doesn't make it more honest. Majority of ppl would disagree this is not the Turkish standard and every airlines can cause negative experiences, especially during covid 19
No more Turkish Airline. They are horrible. Don’t speak English in the airport, they are scammers as a scam my sisters nine $450 to check in a bag while flying Economy class and they lost one of my sisters luggage for her entire trip. We were offered an apology and no explanation whatsoever and she had the hardest time is treating her bag! No more Turkish Airlines for us and our families!
imagine being yelled at like that by airline staff, REGARDLESS of what type of service you booked, as a person, not even a passenger, I wouldn't accept being spoken to like that
We never see any of this. He records everything except himself being yelled at? It seems like that would be a pretty important thing to document, but he didn't for some reason.
WOW!!! Unacceptable being verbally abused by staff! Absolutely no excuse for that. For the price tag you should, and receive better all around. Thank you for this review. I will know never to make such a costly mistake where I won't be appreciated.
You definitely got served an economy meal as your main course. I flew Turkish several times the past couple months including one time in economy and that was the same exact meal I had in economy. In my business class flights, they served actual steak filet. In short, terrible customer service if they’re feeding J passengers economy food. Perhaps they ran out of the actual steak given you were sitting in the back of J but this just incriminates them even more
when i worked at an airline, part of my duties was to “cater” the flight. regardless of the amount of passangers in first/business those were ALWAYS ordered full capacity. while economy was ordered with a +10 meal count in case of last minute add ons. so someone didnt order the correct meals OR things have changed since covid.
Thank you for the review, much appreciated. I have used Turkish Airlines many times and have a complete mix of experiences with them; sometimes, some of the kindest, most hospitable service and other times a bit gruff and cold (but I don't think ever actually rude). Usually they are a little bit late leaving, and they go immediately to "last call" when they start boarding. I have to say their Anadolu Jet has been impressive the couple of times I've used it.
People seem to get weirdly patriotic about their flag carriers (not unique to Turkish Airlines) - it's sort of weird. They're private companies; paying customers should be able to criticise and expect certain standards. Just because it has a flag on the tail doesn't mean it's in any way intrinsically linked with the customs, culture, or standards of a country, it's just a private business riding on the massive safety bubble of patriotic patronage.
im Turkish and I don't like those fanatiker too... with out flying with Turkish airlines saying its good company .... or they see the food is shity but pandemic ...we have to say nothing about negativ I don't care I pay it ......I wanna food, not trash or second ones .... personal that idiot personal they know company get fired not the costumer but they always side of the company ......when I work them I do everything everyday for costumer they come back but Turkish people loved the kissing the boss asses ... they don't care that's very selfish !
Must be all the schmoozing Chui does with the flight attendants. I can't imagine being naive enough to think an ordinary member of the public would be fawned over the way Chui is: I'd rather hear how I'm likely to be treated.
@@gerrypower9433 Absolutely. Watching him set my expectations so high for many flights I took, your channel is a fresh breath of reality. Flew TA from LAX to IST last November by the way and I hated both the 777 and the 787 flights and services, especially the old seats on the 777. I have an Armenian name, and was discriminated against by the flight crew and they were extremely rude.
Your main course looked like it was something that an economy passenger rejected. I would be ashamed if my company provided that bad of customer service.
It was an economy meal. Those aren’t the steaks in business class. They started catering with a chef last year on 8 hour plus flights for business class. The meal he received is not what they serve in business class on Turkish Airlines at all so it’s very bizarre
I can totally agree. We flew business with them on two seperate occasions and they managed to make us miss our connecting lfight in Istanbul each time. This resulted in 6 hour layovers there. All we got was food vouchers for the Istanbul airport public food lounge.
When you pay substantially more for Business Class, there are some expectations: a comfortable seat, a good meal and a bit of pampering from the flight crew. One out of three doesn't cut it. I hope there will be other reviews of Turkish Airlines to compare this to.
What a great and totally honest review. I got bumped by Turkish on a flight from Istanbul to LHR late one Friday night after a long work week. Zero support, empathy or care. Never again and I would happily tell everyone I know to steer clear.
@@siddrajan I'm would not count on KLM. They had subpar meal service during most of the time all the way back to covid start. And the main course in business is subpar compared to Delta for example.
SAS Cabin Crew here ☺ as some of the other in the comments have stated already, you definitely got served either economy meal or a crew meal. I have heard stories (actually only from the US so far) of crew changing their meals with the business or first class.
This isn't a review. Sorry, but he make claims without video evidence. Dramatisation of supposedly misbehaviour of their staff again with no video evidence. After that video I wouldn't even want to share my view rather of someone else from Manila to Istanbul with a very different experience. ruclips.net/video/tVotPrwXhwo/видео.html&ab_channel=AviationMike
Just landed in Istanbul from DFW on the the Turkish air 787-9. Delta left is stranded so we booked this at 5:00 am on the day we left. I watched your video and panicked a bit. I’m glad to report most of what you experienced didn’t happen. Boarding was smooth and segmented with clearly defined areas for various rows and business class, food wasn’t great but had several courses and wasn’t rushed, and they even used the fancy cart with stainless steal coffee servers being served by a guy in a chefs hat!
Similar terrible experience in business class for me with them recently: cold/almost rude interaction, do not bother with service at all - they would not collect that food paper box for 2 hours after the meal and plainly forgetting (or running out of) to bring my breakfast (after confirming the choice) altogether :( Really sad as it was a great airline before 2020.
As a member of Qantas' ground crew, I can safely say that if that happened onboard a Qantas aircraft, the ground crew would be disciplined. Our job stops at the door of the aircraft, and what happens onboard is entirely at the discretion of the Captain and Cabin Crew. I was actually appalled to hear about what happened in this Video. Given that I know little about Turkish Airlines, I can only make assumptions. But it feels as if they were quite heavily going beyond their limit of control either way. On behalf of Airline ground crew across the planet, we don't claim that manager as one of our own.
Seems to be quite common across several airlines to be honest when it comes to ground staff. Not to say this is always the case, and there are far far more awesome ground staff who provide amazing service, but it's not all that uncommon as well for the ground staff to act like the passenger is an inconvenience to them. Five to ten minutes of that interaction was spent on him repeating every sentence of the whole spiel when they ask if you packed your own bags or carry any explosives or anything - except instead of asking a single sentence, he separated it into asking the question regarding every item, and would audibly sign, close his eyes to compose himself as if I just failed to provide my parole officer with a correct answer, and repeat the question if you answered "yep" or "nope" instead of "yes I did" or "no I didn't". Was a first for me, a weird one, definitely out of the ordinary, but also not that uncommon when it comes to not overly polite interactions with ground staff XD Didn't put me off flying Quantas to be honest (back when we used to travel normally) - air crew are great and international flights are great, and by then I've come to the conclusion that ground-staff can be weird regardless of the airline. Except the airliners originating around UAE. And SE Asia. Those seem to not have the same 'quirks' with ground-staff, at least in my experience....
His lying that never happened he would have had proof trust me and the way he said everything and the words he used and the order he used it was very British not coming from a turk using English as a second language

Good to see a truthful review. I had a similar experience being yelled at by the staff and forced to close shade to darken the cabin, but I was in economy. Then the staff disappeared for almost 2 hours not even responding to lights. People placed their trays in the aisle and you had to step over them to get to the washroom. Our seats were spread far apart having been changed at the gate and we never got to sit together. The departure from Istanbul was delayed 45 minutes because a couple were sitting in the exit aisle with their child in their laps and refused to move. The pilot decided to let them stay so we could take off which I am sure is a violation since children are usually not allowed in that row. This kid had to be well over the age of sitting in anyones lap as he laid across both of them and his legs were still in the aisle. Not an airline I will take again unless there is no other choice if the business class experience is just as bad as the economy.
Hi Gina. Nearly time for us to get out. Can't wait. Something I have discovered. If you fly to Singapore and fly to Europe from there it's a truckload cheaper. I have found Emirates BC for 2600.00 in August return to Singers to Munich. I'm in Perth so I can use my Qantas FF points to travel BC to Singers. Makes for a diet cheap BC flight Perth to Europe. Just a thought. Other airlines were cheaper as well. Ie Qatar. But I won't fly Qatar as a female through Doha after what happened to those Aussie female passengers.

You are one of the 5% for me who does a very honest review about an airline experience. Maybe was not shouted at but treated indifferently by the crew IST to SFO on B777-300ER. One of our worst Business Class experience. We spent over $4,100 Rt SFO to IST. We were in Turkeyi Sept.-Oct. 2022 for 25 days. Catering was almost pre-pandemic unlike yours. SFO check in was quick and easy because we were the only ones in BC line. Boarding was not orderly. Three different ground crew checked our boarding pass. It was their Dreamliner. We got window seats. Crew was average. A "lone" 40ish grumpy rude male crew dressed as a Chef don't even answer questions about what food he was serving. Just mumbled in Turkish and put the food on my tray. Dynata was the logo of the food container. Salmon so dry and hard. I did not eat half of it. I'm not sure if I finished my appetizers. Signature Lemonade was too sour. Baklavas have weird taste. We ate Baklavas in Turkeyi and they were very good. I did not eat breakfast. My friend said he just got fruits, yogurt, bread on a tray. He said there was nothing special so I did not miss it. Egypt Air we got a nice omelette shaped like a Giza Pyramid. Something I will never forget. Only 1 toilet working in front so expect a line. The other one behind was Kaput?? A lone female crew in BC insisted on putting sleeping mattress even I said no. She did and put the huge case in the footwell instead of putting it back to the overhead compartment. I could hardly move my feet. Layover for 5 hours for our flight to Denezli. Employees not helpful. Almost 3 hours extra time in the lounge and could not tell us the delay. They said if the shuttle bus is there, then your flight will depart. Arrive to our final destination Goreme almost midnight instead of 8pm. Our female crew was friendly and helpful but food was average. We had food in the lounge and it was too much stress. Return flight IST to SFO. B777-300 ER worst. Inspection at the gate, they took our 3 bottled water and 2 small orange juice. Boarding was chaotic. BC and Economy free for all. Good we were near the counter. There were 2 young crew in their 20's dressed as Chefs. A female was on our side. No smile not a single word said. My friend asked her if it comes with wine. She just stared at us blankly. I told her Fish for both. She moved away. I "never saw" her again the entire flight. The guy in charge on our side was always smiling. I thought he was friendly. Nope. He told me no pictures. Against airline policy. No bottled water. They only give some few passengers. He was so indifferent. We have to ask for water. He will give us about a third of a cup. It was so annoying the 3rd time so I let it pass. We were so thirsty when we landed in SFO. Salmon was very dry also did not finish it. The lounge has much better food so as the employees. Pre landing meal, I asked him if the chicken is spicy. He said he will ask the Chef. He came back and said, " The chef said it's very spicy." Which one? I did not see her. So I took the almost not edible dolma. I asked my friend about the chicken. He said, "not spicy but Tough." Food at the Lokantasi and local restaurant are way much better than Turkish airlines catering. But check in at Gate 6 was our best so far. Separate gate for BC, check in , immigration and security. New IST airport is huge but clean. Lounge is very good. Domestic side confusing check in and chaotic security. We used this side twice. We like Turkeyi especially our Royal Hot Air Balloon experience in Goreme, Kapadoccia. If we return to Turkeyi someday, we will take another airline. The only problem with Lufthansa or BA, they only use A320 or 321. Economy seats for Business class ticket. Happy safe travels.
As a Turkish person who has flown multiple times with Turkish Airlines in all kinds of destinations I can say that flying TK is a gamble. You either hate it or love it. It’s amazing how “not standard” the flights are. Ignore the ones criticising. This can happen in TK. It has happened to me it has happened to any frequent flyer. There have been economy flights that were more comfortable than business ones. BUT you got served economy. Business meals come in porcelain plates and look much better.
I can agree with him bc the on time I went onto Turkish Airlines my dad got yelled at and almost kicked off the plane because he wouldn't switch his seat to a different passenger😮
Love the honest review, having flown Turkish in 2019 I am sad to see how bad the airline is now. I still remember the amazing food and to see that steak you were served saddened me.
I had a little déjà vu watching this one. Flew DFW-IST in September with miles days after the inaugural flight. I actually had the filet, and you didn’t miss much. Quite disappointing to not receive the candlelit service that TK advertises. I hope to give it another try someday, particularly out of IST because I think the catering would be better. Enjoyed the video, and looking forward to the next one.
Turkish airlines customer service is beyond redeemable. They booted me and my 10.5 month baby off the second leg of a journey. They allowed me to fly into Istanbul(both flights were with Turkish) and I went to board in Istanbul at 1am local time to Malaysia. They refused then citing my baby's passport validity. It was an overbooked flight to KL and they booted several people off... but I never imagined that any airline would use these rules to strand a mother and baby in a FOREIGN AIRPORT in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!!! After letting me run around the airport (I am a business class passenger but staff felt they didnt need do anything to ease the situation on me or baby). Afrer an hour and having me book a business class flight last minute to my original port.. one staff member offered me a bottle of water. Incredible... listen to trek trendy!
Turkish Airline hid behind not speaking English or any other language beside their own language. That is a horrible service right there. As a result they can scam you and never apologize either. That’s the way they operate as it’s happened to my sisters and I!
I’ve been a product and services reviewer for decades, which is why I appreciate your honest reviews so much. Too many travel reviewers seem caught up in the excitement of travel, and forget the nuts and bolts behind it. In regards to Turkish airlines, while I’ve used their lounge at IAD, I’ve never been tempted to fly on their airline. Too many horror stories. Good luck on your plans for Honolulu. It’s one of my favorite destinations.
I do understand your point but what your saying is also very rude just because one person had a bad experience doesn't give you the right to say stuff to people as if they were servants . A flight attendants job isn't to wipe your ass it's to save it
I’m from the US and I’ve only started to recently fly domestic over the past few years and just had my first business class experience. I mentioned to someone about going to Europe possibly for my first international trip and they recommended Turkish Airlines. After seeing your experiences and the comments agreeing how they are, I think it’ll be a hard pass.
if you want a luxury experience id recommend the ME carriers( ie qutar or emirates) if youre just looking for a comfortable experience virgin atlantic and lufthansa are good choices.
Try Austrian or even AirFrance business class if you fly from US to Europe (Finn Air maybe), I flew with all European airlines as I lived in few countries and traveled inside Europe a lot from one country to another.Lufthansa , BA and even KLM went down in quality in the last 2-3 years(apparently like Turkish which was really good before)
Hey there! I flew Turkish from Chicago to Istanbul back in October. I had the best experience, we even had 2 chefs onboard. The food was excellent, F/As were super friendly…I really appreciate your videos, I love watching everyone of them. I’m flying to Europe again in June, I’m now reconsidering Turkish. Thanks for this very thorough content.
Thanks for the great review! Your videos on TA stopped me from making the mistake of purchasing a cheap round trip from Singapore to the UK with TA. Because of this, managed to hold out and got a cheap Q Suite deal!! Thanks, mate!
I’ve had the same kind of experience with Turkish air as far as the crews and their service. In my case they didn’t get the trays so long after everyone was done, I believe in order to avoid people getting out of their seats. It was not nice since we couldn’t use the bathroom before they gathered the empty trays.
I shouldn't smile as me & my wife had the most awful flight of our lives using Turkish ( couldn't organise a p@ss up in a brewery ) airlines , but ours was not as costly an experience as yours mate. I would rather fly by Sopwith Camel airlines than ever use the Turkish one again. I honestly admire how you handle things with such a British stiff upper lip. How can you get bad feed back ? Your so polite & impartial.
Turkish Airways are excellent.. That's why they have been voted Number 1 in Europe for several years.. So please don't criticise this excellent airline.. Now , if you really want poor service and food try British Airways.. I think you are just biased against Turkish people...
@@ianjameshodges2999 It used to be good. But after covid, the service dropped a bit and it become really expensive (not in line with other airline prices after covid). For that price point, it is hard to recommend Turkish Airline.

4 flights on TK, 2 in J and 2 in W when they had W. J was in the old seat, so the wife and I got to sit next to each other (so not a big deal) and the food was fantastic, this was in 2014. In 2015 we flew in W, outstanding service all around, I was 3 months out of open heart surgery and everyone from the ground crew (LAX) to the flight crew were first rate. With that said, I was supposed to fly on TK a few months back, luckily I saw your video with the sandwich and reached out to TK to find out what the catering would be for LAX-IST and yes it was the sandwich. I cancelled the ticket and went with QR instead.
As a Turk, I can attest that all low, mid and high end experience with Turkish Airlines and it's subsidiaries are gone down the drain. It was superb around 2013. I think it has something to do with countries economy, need of being greedy for profit and underpaid workers.
Very sorry you got treated like this. My experiences on TK starts mostly by chaotic boarding and end up with broken baggage. The service on board wasn't constantly stable at all. But never saw that rude you mentioned. Thx for your resume in TK. 👍🏼
I flew this exact flight in business 6 weeks ago, and returning ist-lax. the boarding was also a mess both ways, the food was much better from van-ist and better than what you got. the crew were nice except for one, who "spoke loudly to me" telling me to hurry it up and use the restroom as there are others waiting. that really pissed me off because as you said economy passengers kept going into the business class bathrooms. I of course reacted and said yeh thx they can wait until I am done as they shouldn't even be here. just completely disorganized and no one gives a shit about anything. they made the cabin really warm to the point where its impossible to sleep as u are sweating. flew several airlines in business class and this was by far the most unorganized flight ever.
Turkish has lost my entire family as customers. 12 years of Business class gone down the drain. We had a shocking experience last year August, with poor handling of an engine failure over Cairo (JHB - IST). My 73 year old father was travelling alone from JHB - SKG. Being a pilot myself, the engine failure wasnt what the complaint was about... It was how they handled the entire situation throughout and after the event. The entire aircraft passengers were all packed into a Boarding gate for roughly 9 hours. After 5 hours did someone from Turkish arrive to consider feeding the lot and offering something to drink. From snappy and shouting Turkish staff who didnt consider some of the trauma some passengers went through. They eventually got onto a replacement aircraft (the aircraft that was initially intended for CAI - IST). Being business class passengers I thought they would assist my father getting to his final destination (Thessaloniki) after this ordeal. Being 12 hours delayed, he arrived without much help in Istanbul. My somewhat dazed father called me at the business class lounge and ended up getting help from an Information stand. They then called someone from ticketing to assist him. As his original flight already left (hours ago) they offered him to fly 4 days later or as an alternative fly to Athens because they could not book him onto Thessaloniki with business (not even giving him the option to fly with Economy when he asked). We took this offer - as we booked the onward economy flight from Athens to Thessaloniki ourselves. My 73 father felt alone and helpless throughout the entire process and the whole trip took 39hours. And this is where we ended our choice of Turkish airlines, when trying to contact someone to complain about how this was handled. We sent a signed statement with the documents that was continuously bounced and ignored. You have to leave a feedback form which ends up with a different person, who uses an automated copy/paste response. Noone apologized or offered any sort of compensation. It was a face to the wall banging back and forth explanation which we ended after a week. Thank you for the initial 11 years of decent service Turkish, but last year was our last one. 5 Avid Business class flyers are now with Etihad.
That is such a shocking way to treat passengers, especially elderly ones! Afterward, even a purely pragmatic response would have been to try and save the business by apologizing and offering compensation. They sound incompetent right from the word go.
The "steak & potatoes" looked exactly like the cans of food I feed my dogs. Sorry you had to endure this horrible experience but I thank you for this video for reference. I can't believe they called that steak. How did it taste? I know you said you were starving so I'm sure taste wasn't much of an issue for a starving grown man but I'd love to know how it tastes
absolutely the worst airline like THE WORST. i am so sorry you had to go through this. now you can imagine how i felt as a pregnant women in the economy being yelled at by the flight attendant.
Hey trek, the meal you ate that looked foul, was a traditional turkish steak/meat called kavurma which is served with rice and looks a bit yuck, but tastes nice. Sorry for your bad experience and even though i am turkish, i do not condone her bad actions.
As a Turk wow, I’m so sorry for what happened. I’m standing on your side since the cabin crew insulted a single mom with a baby, why she was insulted is gonna shock you, the mom couldn’t fasten the babies seatbelt…

I flew Turkish economy last week from Dallas - IST - Amman.. 1st on B787, I got 3 seats for my self, but they didn't give pillows or hygiene kit. We got blankets + amenities kit and children got 2 toys. Main course was either grilled Salmon or Pasta. No drink service to your seat during the 12h flight. Departure delayed for about 45min. They kept the tinted dark windows until 45min before landing. I went my self asking them to open it. They had snaks & fruits on the Gallery but always attended by 2/3 FA. I felt embarrassed asking them for things. On 2nd, A350 .. I got 2 seats but space is narrow. Departure from IST delayed for 1:15h. Boarding is a mess, 2 different plans on single gate !!! Meals were okay allover. In general, I liked Turkish over Emirates. Transit was 5 hours spent on the IGA lounge, with free shower and very great food. Internet is Bad in IST, you get 1h or 4h for IGA customers connected to your passport number. Who collect passport numbers for internet access?!
That's truly shocking! I can't believe you were spoken to like that, I would have felt so uncomfortable during the whole flight, if my dad was in your position he would probably get off the plane!
Spent the last month or so flying in between New York, Istanbul, Izmir, Cairo, and Amman, all with Turkish Airlines. Not in business, mind you, but economy. In general, I found their in-flight service to be good, and their off-flight (?) customer service to be absolutely atrocious. Flew with two different groups, first with a group of nearly 40 people. TK would't let us get seats prior to check-in time (unless you buy them, something that didn't use to happen with group contracts), then their robot makes a (predictable) mess of the seat arrangements that they wouldn't help us with (some people at the counter were clueless, others at the gate were downright throwing a tantrum, not kidding), instead telling us to sort it out between ourselves. Most people didn't care, but a few couples were nearly mutinous, and Turkish only begrudgingly helped sort them out. With the second group things went smoother because it was only 20 people, and the agency bought (on our dime, not the clients') the seats for the long haul flights to avoid the same mess. The rush come boarding time was a bit shocking at first, but after so many flights I got used to it. Hate it, though. The whole "are you finished eating?" thing isn't just the airline, it's more of a Turkish people thing as it did happen several times while in Turkey. Sometimes they would actually begin charging you for the drinks while you are still eating. So it's probably a cultural thing. (Turkey is wonderful and a place you can visit more than once, as I did; still got to point out some of the cons as I perceived them). I don't hate the airline but wouldn't recommend it either.
Having flown with TA's Business product twice I would never fly with them again. They assume they are in the same league as the Arabian airlines but have a very very long way to go. In terms of standards it is severely dropping and your experience unfortunately shows that! Your steak looked a right mess, and to have to suffer such service by ground staff is not on. But once again, you can see why they struggle, high fares with shit customer service they really do have a very long way to go....to even be in the premier league of airline. Personally I will not be flying them again. Gave them two chances and both had been poor and cost thousands. Well done on the great video and keep them coming!
airline crew(s) being rude to [in this case business class] passenger like you: totally unacceptable! Turkish airlines is a great airline, Turkish culture is one of the greatest in the world...to have someone like that tarnishing reuptation of Turkiye is outrageous
As a turkish flier myself I never had any problems I will tell you one time about a flight attendant So there was this lady that had a condition or smthing and she needed to take a shot. So she called a flight attendant to help her take it and the flight attendant did not know how to do a shot the best and she wanted the lady on the flight to be very safe and yes she did take to shot and there were no screaming it was so heartwarming hearing them say kind stuff instead of yelling mean things
Something that bothers me about business class is that the lie flat beds look very uncomfortable. The seats don't look too wide and the space for your feet looks very uncomfortable. Tell me people....is business class really worth it. I prefer to spend the extra money on more fun at my destination.
There's never a excuse for bad customer service. Even if you were an economy ticket you shouldn't be shouted at. A business class ticket makes it even worse.
Yup almost always my experience flying Turkish - just amazed how consistently bad & delayed it is on the DEL-IST-TLV route and a menu that hasn’t changed in 8 years. Rude staff make it worse . Almost everyone I know has the same feedback except for professional airline reviewers - glad someone had finally documented this
Wow.. this is shocking.. I've flown Turkish many times, and commented on your previous Turkish airlines flight during the pandemic having last flown in 2020 but had amazing service before then. It's very sad to see their quality of service has declined so drastically, Turkish was in my top3 favorite airlines before the pandemic((
You had me at hello.... Honestly if I am being shouted at by ground staff or cabin crew the whole experience is already ruined. I have always thought Turkish airlines was overrated and this is a confirmation. Thank you very much for sharing
So glad I watched this. I was about to book Turkish to UK. By the was, as a Canada Airlines shareholder I think you'll find they're one of the most improved Airlines rather than lines like Delta & SouthWest who seem to be on a permanent slide!
Last week, I flew IAD-IST and IST-IAD with them in business. None of my meals looked like what they served you. 🥴 IAD-IST was kind of rough, rushed service, a similar experience to yours. IST-IAD was spectacular and it felt like pre-pandemic times. They had the chefs back in the aisles and fully loaded meal carts where I got to point at what I wanted. I had heard bad things about their pandemic service and was expecting the worst, but I feel like my experience was a great improvement and hopefully, it's only up from here. Great content per usual! The honest reviews are much appreciated
I've only flown American Airlines but I've flown them probably 10-15 times over the course of my life. I watched your review and it's pretty spot on to most of my experiences but I was once removed from the plane by the air marshal because apparently a VIP needed my seat. I wasn't given a chance to argue or tell them I was traveling with a group, I was literally grabbed out of my seat like a criminal and told to leave the aircraft. My group tried to leave with me and they were told to remain seated. It grounded the whole plane for about 45 minutes because I was forcefully removed and they weren't allowed to leave with me so I was about to be left behind. I was furious and lost my temper at one of the other employees. Finally I was able to cancel my ticket and get a refund, I told a manager everything that had happened and they called the pilot (?) and finally my friends were allowed off the plane. I was given 500 miles. That's it. Barely got an apology and the "VIP" who needed my seat was literally only riding until the first stop that was about 35 minutes away. I was going across the whole damn country. I have refused to fly since then. I've always flown AA and maybe I'm just stubborn but I won't book a flight with another airline. I either fly privately or I drive and I've only flown privately once so my car has a lot of miles on it.
Definitely a poor, inexcusable experience. I just flew Turkish biz from IST < MIA and had a great experience. I hope next time it’s much better for you, should you give them another shot. Btw the Turkish lounge @ IST is on point! Also their domestic and short haul business class is very solid. Domestic has their own terminal apart from the main departures specifically for business class. They have a private security check and lounge and take you by bus to the gate; a nice touch.
@@mediafire09 It’s located about 0.5 km before the main terminal on the right hand sign. You go through a gate that checks your boarding pass and identification. It’s actually really cool. It has its own check in, it’s own security and lounge. They take you by luxury mini bus to your plane when boarding begins.
Great review Will, honest and refreshing! Fully agree on the TK business class product being completely sub-par relative to the price point. Flew with them in Business this September short and long haul and both times I was served the exact same Beef meal that you had, which happened to also be the main course in economy. The rushed feeling of service was also similar and the much fawned over TK lounge in Istanbul is really nothing to be proud of. The neighbouring priority pass lounge is perhaps even better, hosting a terrace and actual bar with runway views. All in all, enjoyed your view and I’m as equally baffled by TK’s product and their misplaced sense of prestige as you are 😂
food can be sub-par, comfort can be sub-par but not the personal interaction. Turkish Airlines need to compensate you if they really value their customers.
Hi Trek Trendy! Great review and a lot of insights. I have a question though - did you ever heard about no filming policy on Turkish Airlines? Recently i was flying with them in business class and cabin crew yelled at me for... Taking selfie. They said filming on board is against the law and asked me to show my phone gallery to CC and to remove my picture. Thanks!
Im turkish living in turkey yes there is a law kind like that actually if you filmed someone , take a picture without permision they can call the police or sue you. Sorry for my english
Hi Trek Trendy, I like your reviews matey. Keep em coming. I've been to Turkey so many times. And, to be frank with ya, I find their customer service non-existent both in the airline industry and in the airport, especially if you are stuck in a sticky situation. Say no more.
another warning: Turkish sells you business class, and to some destinations (up to 7h flight time) they change the aircraft, to a 737, which means, you fly in a small seat that hardly goes back, for an absurd amount of money
Just arrived last night into DFW (trip originated Khartoum on TK) on the TK flt from Istanbul on a brand new 787. This IST-DFW trip was truly the best Business Class class Intercontinental flight I have ever had in my 30+ years of traveling back and forth from my homes in Texas and Switzerland to the ME and Africa. Beautiful plane, amazing crew. Food perfect. My 15th time to fly from IST to Texas over the past 5 years, usually to Houston, Texas from Khartoum, Sudan where I have lived and worked the past 5 years. TK is hands down my favorite airline. I'm Elite+ on Turkish. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I have never missed a connection in Istanbul (ok, only once when the new IST had just opened @4 yrs ago and TK was still getting its operational sht together). TK has never lost my bags, TK staff (esp. onboard) have literally always been efficient gracious and kind. The food is mostly very good. I don't drink on 12+ hour flights so couldn't care less about the wine or cognac selections. I was previously an AIr France/KLM Flying Blue Platinum level for 10 years when I had lived in West Africa. AF/KLM are still both excellent. But I'm very happy with TK and will stay with them. I do have choices from Africa to Europe and Texas, but I wouldn't even consider a US carrier on a transatlantic flight. I've tried many times but they have no idea whatsoever of the concept of 'onboard service' vs "the foreign airlines" on the same routes.
12:10-12:20 In regard to my experience with Turkish airlines, it is probably the best airline I have used compared to Delta and especially Air Canada. I usually fly from Atlanta to Istanbul on economy class, and it tends to be a pleasant experience for an airplane, with an airplane only a few years old, excellent staff, a pretty expansive entertainment system, and edible food. I think the benefits you receive from Turkish Airline’s business class are not enough to justify the cost, so I would recommend economy class on Turkish airlines.
@@talos_the_automaton2329 THY is average though definitely better than US and Canada carriers. But it is their customer care and ground services that are probably the worst in the world. If you had an uneventful flight then all will be ok. But the moment you have to interact with their ground crew or customer care for any help or compensation, you will be alienated and given a run around making sure you don't ask for any help next time ... true story 😄😅

I'm sorry about your father, however, it is funny and ignorant that you accuse THY , because, airport workers do baggage handling at the airports !

Hats off to the FAs and the other passengers checking in on you. There are good people in the world still.
MANY of them too.
imagine being yelled at like that by airline staff, REGARDLESS of what type of service you booked, as a person, not even a passenger, I wouldn't accept being spoken to like that
@@leflores91 How is he rambling, just spitting facts?
Just think, if you were to react to the violent treatment from the fa, you would have been put off the plane & arrested. 🤬
We never see any of this. He records everything except himself being yelled at? It seems like that would be a pretty important thing to document, but he didn't for some reason.
if he did that, he could risk getting kicked off.
Perhaps they ran out of the actual steak given you were sitting in the back of J but this just incriminates them even more
Pretty sure, they had no more steak and just gave him an economy meal...
Why wouldn't they just say they didn't have it? Would be much better. Turkish is terrible
when i worked at an airline, part of my duties was to “cater” the flight. regardless of the amount of passangers in first/business those were ALWAYS ordered full capacity. while economy was ordered with a +10 meal count in case of last minute add ons. so someone didnt order the correct meals OR things have changed since covid.
@@krazypyroboi05 I’m flying Turkish, I’ll let you know! They honestly might have not liked this customer tbh. It happens sometimes
Exactly, I flew economy with TK and those were the meals.
They are madly patriotic about Turkish Airlines though.
Meanwhile Canadians think Air Canada is sh*t

@@gerrypower9433 Absolutely. Watching him set my expectations so high for many flights I took, your channel is a fresh breath of reality. Flew TA from LAX to IST last November by the way and I hated both the 777 and the 787 flights and services, especially the old seats on the 777.
I have an Armenian name, and was discriminated against by the flight crew and they were extremely rude.
Your main course looked like it was something that an economy passenger rejected. I would be ashamed if my company provided that bad of customer service.
It's like something straight out of the frozen TV dinner aisle.
@@President_Mario Or the economy passenger puked and that is the meal for Businessclass
That main course was poor for Economy never mind Business Class.
Just out of interest, what is your company?
They are bad believe me and i am turkisch.
What a great and totally honest review. I got bumped by Turkish on a flight from Istanbul to LHR late one Friday night after a long work week. Zero support, empathy or care. Never again and I would happily tell everyone I know to steer clear.

Similar terrible experience in business class for me with them recently: cold/almost rude interaction, do not bother with service at all - they would not collect that food paper box for 2 hours after the meal and plainly forgetting (or running out of) to bring my breakfast (after confirming the choice) altogether :(
Really sad as it was a great airline before 2020.
Was a first for me, a weird one, definitely out of the ordinary, but also not that uncommon when it comes to not overly polite interactions with ground staff XD
Didn't put me off flying Quantas to be honest (back when we used to travel normally) - air crew are great and international flights are great, and by then I've come to the conclusion that ground-staff can be weird regardless of the airline.

He said, "not spicy but Tough."
Food at the Lokantasi and local restaurant are way much better than Turkish airlines catering.

Vietnam's Airline is decent too, but Singapore is the best in that region.
I am always happy to see a new upload from this guy, what he does is something I would definitely love to do, incredible content all the time
I can agree with him bc the on time I went onto Turkish Airlines my dad got yelled at and almost kicked off the plane because he wouldn't switch his seat to a different passenger😮
Love the honest review, having flown Turkish in 2019 I am sad to see how bad the airline is now. I still remember the amazing food and to see that steak you were served saddened me.
Same here. Food was amazing pre pandemic. However boarding and overall service was already a mess
I’m so sorry you had to go through such harsh treatment. Thank you for being honest about your experience.
Candlelit is back :) it started on November
Not for us if we go back to Turkey again.
It's hard to understand how so many things can go wrong in one business class flight. Just wow.
Horror Stories? Is there a serial killer in the airports?
IAD hmmm? well, I work in that airport
Keep up with your honest review. Don’t pull a Sam 😂
If paying 3K for a first class ticket they should have treated you like a king, you're the reason they have jobs.
Before the pandemic they were really good, but now...
if you want a luxury experience id recommend the ME carriers( ie qutar or emirates) if youre just looking for a comfortable experience virgin atlantic and lufthansa are good choices.
Turkish Airline was very good
If you had a good experience, why would you reconsider your choice based on the experience on someone else?
Truly sorry for this inadvertent mistake, I meant to say “I am considering Turkish airlines again”
Thanks for the great review! Your videos on TA stopped me from making the mistake of purchasing a cheap round trip from Singapore to the UK with TA. Because of this, managed to hold out and got a cheap Q Suite deal!! Thanks, mate!
Thanks for this candid detailed review. I was looking at buying Turkish Business class this weekend but no thanks! Ughh so happy to watch this video.
Also glad u always call out Sam C
Thats the most Australian comment I've ever read oi oi oi
😐😁😀
Turkish Airways are excellent.. That's why they have been voted Number 1 in Europe for several years.. So please don't criticise this excellent airline.. Now , if you really want poor service and food try British Airways.. I think you are just biased against Turkish people...
@@ianjameshodges2999 It used to be good. But after covid, the service dropped a bit and it become really expensive (not in line with other airline prices after covid). For that price point, it is hard to recommend Turkish Airline.
@@OfficialPandorAvatar I just flew to Antalya from London with Turkish and had a very pleasant and comfortable flight. The crew were most polite and welcoming and the food and drink service excellent for a short flight and I even asked for and got an additional free whiskey and ginger served with a smile and " certainly sir " .. You would not get this service on a British airline and certainly not on board BA. When I departed the aircraft I was greeted with smiles at the door and " have a God day sir " .. So.. this is my sincere findings of traveling with Turkish Airlines very recently..
I don’t know why and how because I wouldn’t think I would like an airplane review video but I love this guy
You sound like a fellow Flyer Talker 😀
@@martinasandoval5326 I post on there every now and again, not as much as I used to.
Those days are gone my friend sorry.
Good to know! Thanks for sharing this

I appreciate your candid honesty...all I could say at this point is WOW!
And I'm sure my family will not be traveling that Airlines no time soon.
I trust this channel over other vloggers and Turkish loyalist commentors
Bingo. He’s honest.
As a Turk wow, I’m so sorry for what happened. I’m standing on your side since the cabin crew insulted a single mom with a baby, why she was insulted is gonna shock you, the mom couldn’t fasten the babies seatbelt…
A premium passenger getting shouted at by a staff member? She should lose her job immediately.. once again you provided an objective critique of a major corporation’s product .. air travel seems pretty shabby atm .. and hugely expensive too .. thanks 🙏 for doing a great job ..
I’m half Turkish but I’m no FA, still I feel sad that you had to experience this. I know that us Turkish are great at comforting but this is something else, Im so sorry
This was an awesome review! Thank you for showing us how TK actually is.
Over one video. Literally. That's just not enough.
The cons don't really outweigh the pros though. The delays still happen especially recently.
Definitely taking note and never booking with a joke of an airline like Turkish
Great video!
Not gonna fly with them hahaha
This isnt just Turkish Airlines; This is Turkey in a nutshell. 🤦🏻
I am even thinking this is still very bad compare to Europe or American airlines
not just international but domestic
airline crew(s) being rude to [in this case business class] passenger like you: totally unacceptable!
Turkish airlines is a great airline, Turkish culture is one of the greatest in the world...to have someone like that tarnishing reuptation of Turkiye is outrageous
10:08 Emirates Economy Class meal looks better than that. wth
Oh absolutely! It was the worst meal I've been served on long haul business class
Thank you for the honest reviews!!!!
Dude, best flight reviewer on the platform. Thanks for all your hard work and transparency!
As a turkish flier myself I never had any problems I will tell you one time about a flight attendant
So there was this lady that had a condition or smthing and she needed to take a shot. So she called a flight attendant to help her take it and the flight attendant did not know how to do a shot the best and she wanted the lady on the flight to be very safe and yes she did take to shot and there were no screaming it was so heartwarming hearing them say kind stuff instead of yelling mean things
that steak dinner had my dog drooling
🤣
Something that bothers me about business class is that the lie flat beds look very uncomfortable. The seats don't look too wide and the space for your feet looks very uncomfortable. Tell me people....is business class really worth it. I prefer to spend the extra money on more fun at my destination.
I was on IST-IAH last week and had a totally different experience. The food was amazing and the dessert trolley is back.
Did you fly the 777 or the 787 by chance?
@@Icjmiller1I 787
There's never a excuse for bad customer service.
Almost everyone I know has the same feedback except for professional airline reviewers - glad someone had finally documented this
Wow I found you here Abhijit ji.
Learn some Turkish words to respond.
Thank you for the heads up. Keep safe.
Wow.. this is shocking.. I've flown Turkish many times, and commented on your previous Turkish airlines flight during the pandemic having last flown in 2020 but had amazing service before then. It's very sad to see their quality of service has declined so drastically, Turkish was in my top3 favorite airlines before the pandemic((
I appreciate your candid reviews! Keep up the great content!
Great review mate; keep up the good work 🙂
I've only flown American Airlines but I've flown them probably 10-15 times over the course of my life.
Why do people leave negative comments...? You are beyond professional and polite. Thank you for these videos
Ohhh no we already book with them for next April 2022 on business from Bogota to Cairo let’s pray for a better experience! We will keep you posted 💺🥶
When you fly out of Hawaii please consider heading to Canada on Westjet on either the 737 or 787 and let us know what you think!
That's really weird. I always fly Turkish Airlines economy class and have no issues, and the FA and food are always pretty good.
Thanks!
In most western jurisdictions they do not have the right to see your phone gallery.
@@brandrange2288 That's the issue. They're not Western.
Im turkish living in turkey yes there is a law kind like that actually if you filmed someone , take a picture without permision they can call the police or sue you. Sorry for my english
This is why I only fly emirates or Qatar when I fly international. Their customer service in and out the plane is world class
Hi Trek Trendy,
I like your reviews matey.
I've tried many times but they have no idea whatsoever of the concept of 'onboard service' vs "the foreign airlines" on the same routes.
keep doing what ur doing entertaining stuff

In regard to my experience with Turkish airlines, it is probably the best airline I have used compared to Delta and especially Air Canada.
True
First class was more good in Turkish Airline
@@mehmetkaya9089 are you dreaming? Turkish have never been offering First class.. i hope never will. They shitty service and attitude ..
