- Jazz Dispensary is the sub label for Craft Recordings that is focused on great jazz vinyl titles from the Milestone, Prestige and other catalogs, with the caveat that they usually have a soul jazz or post bop vibe. Joe Henderson's Power to the People was a pleasant surprise when it was included in their lineup, so I had to get a copy and here are my thoughts.

If you're new to my channel, what you can expect from me is a vinyl collector's approach to the jazz genre. For years, I've only collected vintage pressings and prioritized originals of Blue Note, Prestige, Savoy, Bethlehem, Riverside, New Jazz, and more classic labels. Lately, with the resurgence of the medium and more collectors coming to the space, the music industry has taken notice and prioritized putting out high quality reissues of some of the best albums ever recorded. Subscribe to my channel to watch me navigate how to rationalize how I used to buy vs. how I buy vinyl records today.

Super happy this got a proper reissue. Hopefully they'll release Multiple next
My dream would be a Joe Henderson Milestones boxset. Im sure Im not alone in this. Thanks for the review!
One of my favorites from his milestone recordings!
REV!!!!!!!!
I watch you too from time time.
Your flare is unchallenged
We have to remember the Milestone releases came out after his Blue Note contract where he released some of his timeless classics! 😮
Just got my copy one of the few Joe Henderson I never head until now sublime music!!!
I very much appreciate your taking the time to do these videos. It’s so refreshing to have someone who has a background/knowledge to speak on the actual music. We have plenty of people on RUclips who give little to no insight beyond superficial info. I don’t care to listen to people say it was mastered by Kevin Grey on 180 gram vinyl with Stoughton jackets etc
Appreciate you
I feel exposed
Great album!
This is by far the best reissue of the year, so far. The classic series is also killin it..
Very much agree
nice review, just subscribed.
thank you!
I’ve been looking forward to the Lyttle release since they first announced it. Hoping to get it in a couple of days. I’m probably on the fence about the Henderson so I will wait to get it, if I get it at all.
Copped the Johnny Lytle reissue yesterday. That one also sounds so fucking amazing.
Great to hear! I haven’t heard it yet but was waiting for positive feedback like this before purchasing
Same here (via the Craft Recordings bundle), and completely agree!
Excellent review. It's interesting to compare the version of "Lazy Afternoon" here with the one on La Roca's Basra, which Henderson played on a few years prior.
oh good call, I'll have to check that out
To me the music is great.why u compare him with other players
Not for me, gave this one a pass.
