Season 8 absolutely stepped up when it came to stakes and writing, as maybe the best season. Truly PEAK Ninjago! You can tell Lloyd's powers have dwindled severely because his eyes are no longer green. BTW this finale really left me with goosebumps to actually see the ninja lose for once, similar to when the Avengers lost to Thanos in Infinity War, as Garmaddon was giving major Darth Vader vibes with how powerful he was. Get ready for Season 9 because the stakes and story keep on getting better. I also love that the original 4 Ninjas are stuck in the First Realm with their former teacher. The fight between Lloyd and Garmadon was brutal to watch. I know many are mixed on Garmaddon coming back after multiple years of development, sacrificing himself in Season 4, and showing how much he once loved his son even back in the early seasons. Still, I do really like how this resurrection of Garmaddon was handled. He almost has no love for his son, and his humanity is completely gone because of Harumi's influence. I also like how they slowly have Garmaddon regain his intelligence and strength, starting out as a barely functioning zombie, as the next season shows there is still some level of humanity he still has deep down, despite his Oni side being so strong.
7:14 wu literally fought the main villain alone last season and that is why they are in this terrible situation jay. Lloyd just did what wu would have done

I love how this season explains why garmadon looked the way he did when he was evil, because he was tapped into his oni side
