You can do 2 diferent type off slide. 1st: slide --> jump = long slide cancel 2nd: slide --> slide --> jump = short slide cancel. The 2nd option ist my fouvorite for check and push corners. Sry for my Bad englisch ist not my first language 😊
I think it has something to do with tac sprint/ ATS, but it’s not much. It happens when you either try to cancel the slide before you actually begin the sliding movement, or when you hit slide and jump at the exact same time
It’s something to do with the timing of the slide into jump. If the jump input is too soon after the slide input, it’ll force that dumbass dive. It happens when the inputs are hit exactly at the same time, or if you try to cancel before the sliding movement can actually begin.
I may be tweaking but you dont need to press slide slide jump to slide cancel into a standing position. You can just press slide then jump, I also have slide maintains sprint so that may be why.

I hate slide only, idk if it’s only me but i tend to somehow still dive with slide only on and i could never understand why 😤🤦🏽

Slide and jump, slide canceling couldn’t be more easy this game. I suggest learning bumper jumpier tactical if you don’t have paddles to use
