@MALOBEATS WELCOME TO THE FAMILY MALO! I GUESS I CAN EXPECT SOME THOROUGH & VERY INFORMATIVE TUTORIALS 🫡💯🔥🔥🔥
Solid choice. This + an akai rackmount sampler is classic hip-hop formula. I think you'll get along well with this. Congrats
Thank you brother, really means a lot coming from you. I enjoy watching your videos. ❤️🫡🤜🏼🤛🏼
The S 900, 950 were used for extra sample time especially with the original SP 12 and turbo which only had 1.2 sec and up to 5 seconds of sample time ( turbo ) and obv the 1200 famously has 10 sec. The new Rossum joints obviously have 20 sec so the S series are not really needed, imo. If you are looking for another flavor of hardware sampler, might I recommend the E-mu E4k series as they are more reasonably priced and have those crazy z plane filters and much more sample time. Great for bass sounds and pads etc. The Sp is great for grit and hard drums, drum seq.
And the filters. It wasn't just sample time.
Congratulations brother 💯💯💯💯🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you brother. I truly appreciate you.

Damn that’s deep 🔥🔥
@@malobeats my good friend DJ Ralph M of Funkdoobiest uses 2 original sp1200 & the sound is Epic! Has that crunch to the drums 🥁
Enjoy!

Congratulations 🍾🎊🎉 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yo !! BOLO thank you brother, really means a lot
Can u put a link for the audio samples the guy sent you?! With da names of the it. I want to hear what he sent you. I been wanting a sp1200 but never had a comparison samples to listen to to see what i like
Waaaaaaaaaahhh!! Felicidades hermano, deseando verte en nuevos vídeos con él. Daleee! 💣💣
Thank you so much, brother. Absolutamente vamos a estar dándole 🔥🔥🫡🤜🏼🤛🏼
Very cool concept for a video! I loved this!
Malo I just knew it was a SP1200 it’s a Beast. Please Do some videos on it. You will like it different workflow back to old school!
You have a good eye and this box is nearly as big as my room lol. Most definitely gonna push out some videos on this. Thank you, brother. I really appreciate you.
My man is about to get his ears right. Chopping samples with your ears is the way.
Oh shit! You went all out!! I was wondering if it was gonna be the s2400. Good on you man!!!
Man, it’s funny you mentioned the S2400 since now that I’ve been messing with the SP and I really enjoy it workflow and layout now I’m curious on that S2400. I’m really enjoying this layout. I’m.
@@malobeatsI love my S2400. Such a charming device and it already feels like a modern day classic. They also just started their DSP Effectboard sale which I might consider buying before I get a hardware module like that for my MPC 2KXL. Enjoy your new Baby, Malo! 🇩🇪✌️
🤣 no, no it doesn't. It does aliasing and it does it well.
Congrats, man. From what I've heard, sounds dead ass on the OG SP. BTW never woulda guessed you're a 90s kid. You must be older than you look!
Yo thank you brotha and I’m 33yo born 1990. Gotta stay doing what we love to stay looking young hahaha 😆🤜🏼🤛🏼
I got my first sampler (ASR-10) when you were 4, then. 😅 Look forward to hearing what you cook up with that gritty SP sound.
@@verbone yo !!! Hahahah now that’s a throw back 😆😆. Most definitely brother. And thank you so much for dropping back and showing some love. 🫡
Congratulations.
Thank you so much brother
4:26 look at this beauty... Pete Rock, Ski Beatz, Erick Sermon, Q-Tip all over it. What a time to be alive. This is history.
Qtip made his class albums by putting samples via s950 and drums via sp1200
💯
Easy Moe Bee 🔥
Amazing dude and congratulations! Im planning to also transition from mpc to SP1200. Do you keed to buy lots of expensive hardware or do you run it through a daw for effects and processing? Peace
Man, I truly is an amazing combo to have the MPC paired up with your SP
Congrats bro! Can’t wait for new vid about workflow on this bad boy 💪
Oh man, I really fell in love already with the workflow of it. Most definitely gonna be pushing out some content with this.
You deserve it so much my brother 🔥👊 that's insane my professor👊
Yo, this truly means a lot. Thank you so much for these words of encouragement.
Love this!!! That's such a dope process of finding what piece of gear you ACTUALLY love the most for its sound.
Congrats man! That ring is unmatched.🔥Looking forward to hearing beats you'll make with it!
Perfect for your style... your a boom bap producer and the 1200 is the God of boom bap...
I’ve had 3 different SP1200 and 1 SP12. If you decide to keep it, look into doing the HxC mod, which is very easy on the 1200. For me it ended up being more of a studio decoration. Be sure you’re not just sipping the “vintage sampler keeping it real now people online will think I’m hardcore hip hop head” lemonade. In the end it made my workflow too convoluted to have such limited memory and no stereo. MPC/DAW had so many non destructible options to get that sound. Keep it real bro 😎
The Rossum does not need to be modified, it has a SD upgrade.
@@BillyBatsonMarvel ahh! Any other differences?
Congratulations! I knew what this was before you opened it lol. You are gonna kill it with that machine. Very happy for you Malo, solid choice!
You done 🤬🆙 and brought the secret sauce of the greats.
Congratulations my brother 🫡
Man what a dream .
I feel you are a real Artist because its your Passion and not just a way to earn money .
I think its a cool bonus if you are make money with your music but the most important point is you are doing it because it makes you happy .
I make beats and rap songs since I was 16 years old and now I am 35 and I still do it because its my passion .
Once I got 50 € for a 20 minute rap Performance but thats secoundary for me.
I have everything what I need , I have a nice family and a sweet 2 1/2 year old doughter a good job as a carpenter what I also really enjoy , a house , and my mpc live 2 and 2 Synthesizers .
I feel what you are feeling , hip hop is a never ending Story and thats awesome
Peace ❤😌
My goodness, you have no idea how deep this is. There’s so much familiarity between us as I read this message. I would’ve gave up on this years ago if it were for the dollar, but we still hear out of heart and passion for this. I highly appreciate you taking the time to share this with me and I’m sure many others can relate.

Thx malo . Your Channel is still one of my biggest Inspirations 🙏✌️❤️
Congrats 🔥💣🔥💣🔥💎⛏️🎧😤 dope video 📹! I was horrified when I saw a SP1200 user of this new machine saying that his sample input stopped working after purchase on this new unit 😳
Hey brother, thank you so much for taking the time and dropping by mentioning this. Man, I hope he was able to get his fixed. I’ve had it for already 2 1/2 weeks and it’s been solid so far.
Poor MPC Key 37, you left it eating dust in the floor.
This cracks me up lol so many people mentioned the same thing and I did not realize it till I rewatch the video lol 😂 she’s going to get some Love this upcoming week
I have ordered my S2400 today.. Congrats !!! 💥💣💨
Dude !!! I’m excited for you and it’s funny you mentioned that since now that I know I love this layout and workflow. I’m actually thinking of trying out that S2400 down the road since it’s a very similar workflow
@@malobeats 💯💯💯🙏
The sequencer doesn’t flow like the 1200. It’s not a knock but the 1200 sequencer have dope beat fairies in there helping out.
The Rossum. That's the GOAT made by the GOAT who designed the original. Terrific choice
Sick dude. I was thinking it was gonna be a 3000 but excited to hear the beats you make with this. You ever worked on an ASR10? They have a really inspiring workflow. Effects are second to none as well
Dude congratulations! Some how i knew right away it had to be the SP1200 when you said "its not a MPC". personally i think the SP1200 has the best sound of them all as well, Cant wait for more videos of the SP1200!
Nothing beats the Mpc 3000
Oh wow!! Congratulations! My dream sampler aswel and i assume for many others! Look forward to your videos on this beast 🤙
Hey, thank you so much. This truly means a lot for you to take the time and share this. Most definitely gonna push out lots of content with this
Noooo!!! I watch too many of your videos and I buy a lot of the equipment that u have. Mpc live 2, sp 404 mk 2, Tascam 12 etc…. I already know you’re gonna cook up some fly shit that’s gonna have me convincing myself to get one! 😂🤣😂🤣 anyway congrats can’t wait to hear what u cook up with this!
Hahaha oh man!!!! This has always been a dream of mine to have since a kid even though I know my MPC will still be the center of my studio, but this piece was a must have before I leave this earth lol 😆. I really appreciate you, brother. Thank you for being here and being a part of this channel. ❤️🫡
My dream all in one is the MPC Key37. I might trade in my Korg Kross2 and pay the difference.
The Korg is awesome but the sampling is what Akai does way better.
Yo 💯 on this. MPC are so fluent when it comes down to chopping up samples in general.
The SP1200 is a 12-bit workhorse, CONGRATS!!! There's so much rap history with that machine. I've heard many producers from the 80s-90s say that the SP1200 contributed more to the rap genre than any other piece of hardware. Personally the sound reminds me a lot of my Ensoniq EPS-16+ with allowing you to turn off the anti-aliasing filter.
💯 thank you brother. I really really appreciate you taking the time and sharing his input with me. Nothing but love and blessings to you.
Man if only these things didn't cost $4000. I would pick one up so quick. Glad you you are blessed to receive one man! ✌️
Amen to this !! 💯💯💯
Let me tell you man nooooo lie the ensoniq ASR10 sounds amazing!!!!!!
Man, thank you for telling me this and I’ve heard nothing but great things about the sound coming out of that
Did you know there is a successor??? It's
the "isla instruments- 2400"
That 2400 looks really nice
Damn... brand new? shit! Looking forward to new vids with you cookin on this legendary machine!
Man, I can’t wait to put out some tracks with this. Thank you so much, brother. I really appreciate you being here.
This is exactly how I feel owning the mpc key 37 and leaving fl studio behind the mpc made me fall in love with making music again 💯❤️ can’t wait to see what you cook up !
Me too , just with the live 2 instead the key 37 😌🙏
@@christophschumacher640 word I been looking into that live 2 . I know the creativity level when up 3 levels 💯

Felicidades. Out of my reach right now, but hopefully one day I can afford one.
Thank you so much, brother. This has always been a dream of mine but also out of my reach but just grateful to be in the moment right now. Much love and blessings to you, brother.
7:00 The MPC KEY 37 is the old toy now so it’s gets tossed against the wall and on the floor😂😂😂
Hahahahahahah no no no, I absolutely love my keys 37 but this SP1200 is so damn big. I need to find some space lol 😂
ths intro beat is phenomonal.
Yo thank you so much brother. This intro heat was my fist beat on the sp1200
Congrats! Whenever I hear the SP1200, it feels like home. The first music I deeply fell in love with as a kid back in the 90s was Hip Hop, so that 12 bit ring is pure bliss for my ears. I hope to get one too at some point.
*pauses the video…
Box is big so I’m guessing a MPC 3000 or a 60 maybe… I’m gonna go 3000….
*After the watching
I got it wrong but this is even better!! It’s the perfect companion to what you have too. You can use the sound from the SP with the functionality of the Live or the Key 37! Best of both worlds!
Man, I’m so glad you took the time to pause the video and share your thoughts. Absolutely brother, about to use best of both worlds. I really appreciate you, brother.
@@malobeats No doubt! Down the line you may want to consider getting a card reader on the SP so you can chop on the Live/Key 37 then play the chops in the SP and run the outs back into the Live/Key 37
Sorry I think I’m living Vicariously through you lmao 🤣
My first official sampler copped mine from rouge music store back in 92
Hey! Thanks for the vids.
I think Im gonna buy Live 2 but I cant find info about stock FX plugins that come with MPC Live 2. Are there plenty of them or just a bare minimum (limiter eq compressor) Can you make video about it please?
Grate question and yes they come with a solid amount of plugging, the only ones that I would recommend that you might have to purchase from the store is air flavor pro but other than that, all the other plug-ins that it comes with are very good
@@malobeats wow that was fast, thanks for the answer
BROOOOO I knew before i even clicked on the video what it was!!! and then the beat you played confirmed it!! You're gonna have a good time with the SP can't wait to hear all the joints you make with it!!
Best sampler in the world….
I made most of my hits on an SP💯
Also make sure you learn how to use looping points when editing the end of the samples …. Or one shots ,, it’s a game changer
Congrats! Your journey has been inspiring. I remember watching you in the early days! I have plans on getting the S2400, but one thing at a time. I'm going SP404, Analog Heat, then SP. Can't wait to see you cook on that!
Yo, you have no idea how much this message means to me just the fact that you’ve been around since I started in the garage with my RUclips channel. Thank you so much for being here to this day. It truly means a lot to me. That 2400 looks so nice and considering picking one up down the road.
I’m just curious here. For us that don’t have an sp1200 can you achieve that sound we all love by using sample packs with modern mpc equipment?
Absolutely, depending on the sounds that are within that specific sample pack. I feel like the modern MPC are very transparent, which is a good thing so depending on the type of sounds you put inside of them. It will only reflect what you’re looking for.
@@malobeats how well do you think the sp1200 mode is on the live2
Beautiful machine😮
we have ableton, no limits! But we want limits for the rush and hard work and that connection with choping samples, hittin the grey / black pads, faders, amazing
💯 on this. Thank you so much for sharing this input
@@malobeats waiting for beats videos from you with the SP1200
@@malobeats by the way tracklib, the subscription plan, if i do like only 1 month which no need in sample clear, i can use it for release commercial songs only if i still subscribed? I dont get this 100 precent what can / cant i do

Way off topic lol do you work a regular job too or just RUclips? Love your videos by the way! Been inspiring me to go hardcore! God bless you sir!
Hey brother, this is a whole topic for another video which I enjoy talking about lol, my wife and I started our business back in 2020 When I also started my RUclips channel in a two car garage that we used to rent and live in. As our business started moving so did my RUclips channel and little by little both sides of the business has been progressing slowly but surely so now we moved out to Vegas, which is a lot cheaper than California lol so it’s been just putting ourselves in the right place to continue and grow our business. I’m very open with these type of topics and might do a video on this down the road..
@@malobeats Oh man thanks for sharing! Id love a video on that! I remember when you had the setup in the garage! at that time my wife and I were living with our little girl in a one room apartment. I thought it was great that you were telling about everything you did to set up you space. That mentally helped me make use of the space I had.. which was hard but I made it work. We also live in Ca. and have moved into a 3 bedroom house now! We both work full time, but I've been wanting to really get going with RUclips that I've had since 2015 lol. Just wanted to ask about how you went about some things. But yes if you make a video about it that would be amazing! again love the content! don't ever stop! I know so many people are blessed with your knowledge and beats!
Bro, you look bigger every time! Congrats on the SP!

Nice af. Figured it was a Roger Linn MPC, S900 series, ASR, or SP. Those are pretty much the most common sought after old samplers
I saw the video thumbnail and title and immediately thought, "You must have gotten your hands on the SP1200." The moment the beat started in the video, I was like, "Oh, damn!" Congratulations, man! the ring sound is so iconic, and the beat just shake my soul so hard
Man, you truly have an ear for Sound. It’s those small details that makes such a big difference at the end. Thank you so much, brother. I really appreciate you taking the time and showing up.
So Sooo dope, i had a really good hunch what it was going to be. My Holy Grail and definitely will have one some day!!! I definitely fell in love with that sound as well!
Congratulations Malo congratulations 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 bro I have the S2400 that was the closest I could afford... As soon as the beat dropped while you were speaking... I said SP1200.
🔥🔥🔥 The creator of the SP1200 said the only thing that changed is the sampling time (increased). Im so happy for you! That is a BEAST💪🏾! I CANT WAIT to see what you so with it. Don't care what anybody tells you. I've owned 3 asr-10's and an asr-x, pro, 2 MPC 1000's, a 2000xl, 2x4000's, a Z4 and an mv 8000 and 8800. NOTHING sounds like an asr-10...
I still got my original from 92”but it need some workto work properly! Gonna have to cop that new one with more sampling time!
I had the SP 1200 way back I had the black reissue back like 94... I could kick myself for selling it to get an ASR 10... but hey I plan to get it back someday but, that was a great choice bro! Your gonna love it!!!

The first box showed is not how Rossum sends the SP1200, the second one with two boxes is actually how it’s shipped by Rossum… So, did you get it 2nd hand or brand new?.. However, congrats on your purchase.
Congratulations. I used to own 2 x 12SP1200 in the 90s and did thousands of beats on them. Be aware, while it is unique in itself, the workflow is very slow. It takes time to get something good out of it . Pete Rock just mentioned the same thing on a recent video. But it is part of hip hop history. Just enjoy it as it is. Myself using now MPC x se with tube outboard gear which is a wonderful combination without being too restricted on the 12 bit sound.
That’s wild , i thought it was going to be a s950
Yo, it’s so funny you mentioned that since I was very close to getting one of those. I might still get it sometime down the road.
Well done! I was listening to Lord Finesse recently, and remembered that he used an SP as well. This should be a fun piece to produce with!
Another good sampler is the ASR-10
How is it they can re-create the Rossum with the same exact sound but can't create better converters for the XSE in 2024. or give options - Akai are shafting people
Now you got the dreamy machine... Wild dreams...
Congratulations 🎉
Congratulations it’s the last machine on my list. One day when the price is right. lol.
