I don't know how this video didn't include Vince Carter over Frederic Weis (Olympics) and Baron Davis over Andrei Kirilenko. If you can find it, it's worth seeing
@@jartstopsignI’m sorry, I’d rather be the cool ref that doesn’t call the foul so the crowd and players can get hype rather than be a buzzkill and call the foul 😂
There's a term called "getting posterized" because back in the day if you got embarassedly dunked on, there's a chance you could end up on a poster hanging on the wall in some kid's bedroom haha
Honestly I was disgusted with the NBA after the DeAndre Jordan dunk. They allowed Brandon knight to get murdered and then replayed it. Disgusting behaviour
Fun fact about Anthony Davis is that he he was 6'2 at 15, and was a top college prospect as a PG in his sophmore year. He was 6'7 at 17 and was a top point forward prosect. At 19 he hit his current height at 6'10 and went to Kentucky as a PF/Center.
The reason the guy stands there and takes the dunk is an attempt to get the offensive charging call. To get the call The defenders feet have to be planted firmly on the ground and not be directly under the rim when contact is made. Most of the time they don't get the call because their feet move. Or they are in side the crease, the half circle directly under the basket.
Those were indeed Ant's first two seasons in the league. It would be great if you watched some of his highlights from this season. He's one of the best in the league now and the Wolves have been 1st in the West all season
One thing that annoys me in sports highlights is clips from just before HD cameras look 20 years older than clips just after HD cameras even though they might only be a year or 2 apart.
If an offensive player initiates the contact it`s called a charge or a player control foul . A defender cannot draw a charging foil inside the arc under the basket.....the defender must have BOTH feet clearly outside the arc .
if i'm being honest, i dont find dunk highlights all that exciting. They're always the top in top 10 plays but i find a nice crossover shot or step back WAY more interesting and skillful. But im probs in the the minority it seems
I like the posters of people jumping but for a different reason than most. I like the dudes are willing to try and block it. There is no poster if a guy is trying to take a charge in my book.
Almost all the defenders in these highlights are trying to draw a charging foul on the offensive player. They have to sacrifice their body by establishing position outside the restricted semi circle and wait for the offensive player to try to get the bucket by going through them. It’s hard to time it right but if they can get their feet planted without sliding under a player already in the air or leaning into it to create the contact but if they are able to get there in time and take it on the chin then it could result in a big play if the referee calls it on the offensive player. Other than trying to jump up and get a clean block, drawing a charge is about the only other options the defender has. Got to give them some credit for trying but it sucks if you don’t get the call. Not only do you still have to give up your body to take the contact but then you might also end up on RUclips with Daz joking about some dude’s balls in your face. Drawing a charge is an art and can be some of the smaller players only chance of getting a stop.
"Charging" is the call they are trying to get--they have to be set for a short count and can't lean right or left to take the charge--and make sure you cover the family jewels (just as those boys do on a free kick in UK football). If they successfully take the charge, the basket does not count and the ball gets turned over to your team. So some of these dunks were just stupid plays by the dunker.

It's because VC dunked over him, not on him. The Frenchman was still standing unlike every player who got dunk on in the video.
Every defender here ended up on their ass
@@NatTurnerswitBurnerzthat’s honestly a perfect explanation. Vince’s dunk was TOO clean
Because these dunks are only from about the last 20 years or so. I guess they didn't dunk before 2004
1:01 Its called taking a charge, so the player dunking can get a charging foul
Exactly, and to be fair several of these should have been called charging

10:06 kemp also had one where he dunked on someone and dapped him up afterward lol

We gotta have a put back dunk Compilation coming soon. 🤞
The craziest Vince Carter Stories told by NBA Legends and players is a little videos Also, Aidan I think you mean when they try to take a charge
Shawn Kemp one is still the funniest with the finger point 😂
As A Ja Morant fan I agree with Daz
Oh, and they have to be set before the offensive player leaves his feet--otherwise the defensive player can be called for "blocking".

Soon as the video started I was guessing how long it would be before he mentioned, Proper Teabag :)

You should react to AND1
it's called a Charge
React to the NFL combine , xavier worthy just broke the NFL combine record for the fastest 40 yd dash time.
Charging foul but they rarely call those in the NBA
James Harden on Draymond Green should’ve been included
It's Anthony Edwards 4th year, far from a rookie lmaoo
react to anthony edwards or sga highlights. they are next up
Too bad they didn't show Vince Carter jumping over the 7 foot guy.
This is why fans don’t watch women’s basketball!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
