Have visited this pub many times, although I'm from Sheffield. An old mate of mine was the manager for many years, and stayed over on numerous times, enjoying the banter with the Leeds fans. Such a shame, always had a great atmosphere, and close to Elland Rd for match day drinks. RIP Drysalters 😪
sad to see this was A very busy pub had many good nights in there just brings back memories and hopefully this video stays on RUclips for people to remember the drysalters
@@roastedicons1234 I fear for the pubs because its much cheaper to go to supermarkets and drink at home I know the atmosphere aint the same like but good old days are gone for pubs now
The only time I have been in there was after Dads funeral cremation over the road at cottingley in December 2019 and it seemed thriving and a nice pub .
Yea sadly it will be another coffee bar. just something for profit and not the community. I dont know if it was decreasing numbers that closed this pub, but ive been told it was busy a lot of the time.

I went passed a few days ago. Its now fenced off but it did have guys there tearing it down.
Had my 18th birthday party in here. Many years ago now but was a fantastic pub in its day xx
It seems a shame to lose a pub for a drive through coffee shop!!
The pub.... something synonymous with Britain.... and here we are losing them one after another.....it's not good....
Yea. There’s been a few close to his one that are now gone!
Was a busy pub on match days, loads of Leeds fans used to go in before the home games.
Yea, I heard it was a busy pub. Sadly it'll be making wat for another huge corporation.
I was watching a band called " The Locals " the weekend before the place shut . Good band and great local people. Real shame.
It will soon be knocked down i would think. Looks poorly Built sixties work. A shame a new bar wont be built.

It seems it was busy but a sad loss to the area.
hi, yes from what i have heard it was a busy place.
Haven't been to a pub in many years, last time was my local, Middleton Arms, which is currently a Aldi and will soon be a Farm Foods.😕
Yep, the government has no interest in keeping these places going. They need a break in price rises like all businesses really.
Had one or two pints in there in years gone by 😢❤
Its all fenced off now!
It will make a lovely mosque.
I believe a drive through coffee shop is coming!
My old neighbour was manager of the dry salters years ago it was a decent pub then there gone and and make it into a crappy coffee bar

Yea that makes sense as starbies is at the other side.
This place housed the homesless and helped the community in so manyways and the council shut it down just because of some odd fights.
I see its now currently fenced off and no longer accessible.
i worked here for years
i bet it was a great place, I used to enjoy working in bars.
