- This is the Third part of Raga Yaman. Here we discussed Alap and Vistar on Yaman. Yaman is regarded one of the grandest and most fundamental ragas in Hindustani music. Yaman emerged from the parent musical scale of Kalyan. We hope you would enjoy this lesson like the previous one. The journey on Raga Yaman continues...

sir. .. the 7th whole of my flute is far from my little finger so I couldn't MP. ..MDP. .MDN. .as u hv given.... but when i'm playing ma .. opening all whole open with .. Da or Pa .. its goes higher octive .... plz suggest ..
The first problem is about ur flute. The hole is placed distant. Choose a good flute. and the second problem solves with playing more and more. what is the playing condition now?

from transition from ma to pa when we have to close all initial 3 holes
sometimes i miss the holes and air leaks
U can overcome it by practicing more and more, this is the solution.

It has no rule, no shortcut. The more u play, the more u will be fluent with flute.
Sir where is ma in lower octive....i cant understand lower octive maddhyam...plz sir
Its reached either by tilting your flute inward, or by using the 7th hole

You're wrong teaching on the note of ma of yaman raag. While play note ma you close the all hold. That's wrong. On the note of ma play like every fingers is free. Only one finger is half holding.
After is correct play note (pa) while playing note pa close the all fingers or hold. But when was played note ma and then also close every fingers..
Now which is correct?
Sir please tell me on the yamana raag no difference between ma and pa
It is not a way to say 'wrong' to a person like Murtaza kabir. u should ask first. lower ma can be played on pa by lowering the air pressure so that the pitch of the sound match with Ma, though the fingering shows Pa. We hope u understand now.
