    No windows. I have a 56 Ford Panel van and while windows are more driving friendly, they change the whole character of it. That style of window definitely not. Love the channel! Continued success

    No windows, sand dune matte paint, 31 in ATs, black trim, black steelies, black roof rack, roll out awning, low buck camper vibe. Great project. 🤩

    Good decision on “no Scooby van”! There are too many of them out there and they just don’t do anything for me.
    Windows? To be honest most people who own the 60s vans don’t put windows in them, unless it’s a small one like a porthole style in the far corner. The bigger windows like you have are used on the 1972 and up full size vans. I wouldn’t put them in my 73 Dodge, but it has portholes in the far back on the sides.
    Sunroof? That would be cool. They can leak and cause a lot of problems down the road. Your call on it.
    Wheels would be easy to find in the size your van needs. I see the 5x4 3/4” pattern wheels all the time in vintage mags, especially slots on Marketplace. I would put a mag wheel on it. I think for now the wheels off the El Co look fine. I like the Rally Wheels on the El Co.

    Your 76 El Camino is my favourite car in your collection. The ugly duckling. Love the rally wheels. You’re right, Paint them black with the chrome centre caps, no trim rings. It’ll look awesome.
    And those wheels look perfect on that van! Don’t listen to all the naysayers! I like how you Work with what you’ve got. That why we love this channel!

    I think changing the the rims was a positive thing for both vehicles. The electric sunroof would be cool as long as the arch of the roof matched curve of the sunroof. But I definitely think the conversion van side windows would not look good, And degrade the structural stability of. God bless

  • @ryanmiller7588
    @ryanmiller7588 3 месяца назад +7

    I don’t know about the side windows, Lee. What about a 70’s style circular window in the upper corner instead? Also, since you’re asking for opinions about rims, that van is screaming out for Cragar Mags. I know budget will prohibit it, but if there was ever a vehicle to invest that kind of money into, this may be it.

    Those large windows with the small bottom tilt out or slider windows are a product of the 1980s and later which IMHO would look terribly out of place on a 1960s Chevrolet Van. During that time period, the camper van conversions utilized jalousie windows that would fit between the top and the character crease that runs horizontally along the side of the van -- the easiest example of the type of windows used would be to search for photos of the late 1960s Volkswagen Campmobiles as they are more common than the Chevrolet/GMC camper vans although there were several manufacturers who offered camper van conversions on the Chevrolet and GMC vans of that period. The jalousie and awning windows used in the 1960s camper van conversions were often shared lines with travel trailers of that period.

    They're Diamond Bubble lites ( windows ) most were installed with dark tint on cruisin' vans that later became boogie vans it's not Disco it's just a mood coz you could be into BOC and the grim reaper and still love the boogie van and you could even have a mural of the grim reaper on the side of the van that's why they had those small bubble lites in the back of the van allow light in and not take up valuable mural space for your cool grim reaper !!
