@Ashok Hegde I am ALL for putting a xoncept together and profitring from it as I am starting a home improvement company and as I do so will generate somewhere in the vicinity of 20k to 100k per month which means I WILL be able to afford to live WHEREVER I so choose bur WHENI buy properties in MY city I will not do what la and bay area do. They ABUSE the poor. Pigs get fef hogs get slaughtered. A man who did NOT earn gis properies in the bay area but was given to him in a will roughly 30 units was BRAGGING about overcharging peiple and sayin he was the wealthiest person in his neighborhood. My rwspons was at WHOOSE expense. Do you think if tou properties generate 100k pwr month you could survive on 60k ro 70k per month.

In Oregon, minimum wage has went up from $9.75 to $11.25 and our homeless problem has gone through the roof because Oregon has NEVER had a "Rent Cap" protecting renters from greedy landlords!... I am not exaggerating when I tell you that the average, basic studio's 500sq feet runs $1150+, 1 bedroom 685sq feet runs $1300+, 2 bedroom 850sq feet runs $1650+ and 3 bedrooms 1050sq feet runs $1850+ and this is to live in the poorest, dangerous and most undesirable parts of the Cities in Oregon.
To "Rent" a 2bed 2bath 1000Sq Feet in the heart of Portland Oregon runs $2,800-$4,800!.... That is just INSANE!!!... I have lived here all my life and my heart goes out to so many Co-workers, Family, Friends and neighbors that I watch move away because they simply couldn't afford to live here anymore. Single parent Mothers & Fathers, Ethnicity, Disability/Age, Broken Degrees (People dropping out to help family with finances) and so many more, have played a huge roll in our housing crisis and the struggle to live amongst the rich and higher upper middle class that want nothing to do with these people.
Drugs, alcohol & crime are not what played a factor in what I mentioned above, because all those that I know, were not inflicted with those issues, it was the simple lack of our city planners/politicians and government to fill in the gap and place Rent Caps on the city and help our citizens!... Greedy, wealthy landlords and rich foreigners who have bought up all the properties in many Cities are another reason all these families are being pushed out of their homes!... When housing crisis is turning into a major epidemic in every city across America, something is terribly wrong and everyone knows it!... 😡

@Ashok Hegde Unfortunately, its simply not that easy, let me explain!...
      1. Oregon is now set to pass the "First Statewide Rent Control Bill" and our State Governor; Kate Brown, along with our City Mayor, supports the new bill, realizes Oregon has a serious problem and is taking the first steps to addressing the situation and keeping it on the table for additional challenges & issues to be negotiated, implement more laws to protect ALL Oregon citizens!...
      2. Its a "Disservice" to any hard working, tax paying, educated, law abiding citizen, who has done nothing but contribute to society and be pushed out of their home, their Neighborhood or worse - forced to move to another city or state, simply because they can no longer afford to stay in their homes due to an unfair system & lack of fair pay wages!... It displaces the entire family and is simply unfair!...
      3. The goal is to create, stability, balance, fairness and prevent more people & families from becoming homeles, adding to the crisis we already have. It is also very expensive to relocate yourself or family, when they are already struggling & barely making it from one paycheck to another. Low wages, taxes, inflation, high interest rates, poor city planning, discrimination/ ignorance, are just a few obstacles on the list, that makes "Moving Away" so easy nor a "Service" to the average underpaid worker/disabled/veterans & aging seniors who are mostly on a restricted income!...
I guess until it simply happens to you or to someone you know, love or care about, you may never truly understand how damaging this could be to someone's life and the negative impact it has on EVERYONE once the ripple effect is in full force!....
I hope that answers your question my friend!....

    • @_A4A
      @_A4A 5 лет назад

@Ashok Hegde I answered your "2" previous questions, with a decent general response!... Your rebuttal is simply a long drawn out debate, spun into an even larger web of back & forth dialog, that will not help solve the complex issues happening in my state and the entire US!.... As with everyone I have a conversation with, you are entitled to your opinion, I appreciate the feedback because its important to see things from others perspective, beliefs & view!... I am just thankful that our state is taking the time, effort & planning to address our problem, in our state & Cities- Period!.... Enough said!.... ✌

    • @NTJedi

@@mrsmucha Here's a list which the media keeps hidden from you: First Trump reduced corporate taxes from 35% to 21% which strengthened US stock market and many businesses gave bonuses to employees as a result. Second Trump replaced NAFTA with USMCA which guarantees more cars are made in the USA and more dairy exports are allowed to Canada both of which increase jobs for our USA. Third Trump placed tariffs on China in response to China’s intellectual property theft and abusive trade practices which was stealing from the USA. This is extremely important for inventors and all types of businesses. Fourth Trump stands strong against Russia by imposing new sanctions on Moscow for violating the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty. Fifth Trump passed two executive bills for reducing the costs of medicines and another executive bill which give more options for people who desire to try new experimental medicines which have terminal illnesses.... see links below for details. Sixth Trump is fighting very hard to protect our borders and keep illegal immigrants out of the country. Illegal immigrants increase poverty, homelessness, longer hospital delays and many other expenses on our country. Let me know if you need a link to the problems. Seventh after "17 months" of being our president, Donald Trump achieved and maintains the lowest unemployment rate in 49_years for blacks, women, veterans and other minorities whereas the unemployment rate for blacks actually temporarily got worse during the Obama administration. Eighth within less than 2 years while Trump has been president 4 million people are no longer taking food stamps and Obama also decreased food stamp usage but that same amount was over the course of 4 years. So Trump actions are showing more positive results.
Below I used mostly liberal links and a few neutral links, but keep in mind these are only some of the good accomplishments Trump has provided: www.bls.gov/web/empsit/cpsee_e16.htm

The fix to this is decentralization of food, housing, medicine,
People don’t understand that the system we are living in is the most unnatural thing probably in history. But it’s all we know so it’s seems normal.
We are literally paying to eat, paying to lay your head down at night, paying to live. You work all year just to have a one, two week vacay, then back to work.
You pay an arm and a leg to get a “college education” just so you can be on par with the other 10000s of workers and hope you get a job.
They got us PAYING TO WORK!
Even in death you pay, they got families taking out loans just to bury their dead. Even in death your debt haunts you, it just goes down the line to your children.
You buy a house but you don’t own it , you buy a car but you don’t own it.
People don’t even have enough time to spend with their families, their own children.
And you think this is Normal??
This is the FURTHEST THING from the way man was meant to live on this earth. Farming the land, working the land with your own two hands.
Growing your OWN FOOD, it will rock your world, the difference between REAL organically grown food, compared to the GMO slop they feed the public, it is night and day. But that’s what happens when a handful of companies produce food for MILLIONS of people.
Did you know the govt did a study that showed that If the power went out in America and stayed out, around 90% of Americans would die within the first 3 months, simply because we have absolutely no clue how to live on our own.
This is unnatural, unhealthy, and unsustainable.

Many of the people living in poverty are the people who choose to have baby after baby with no way to care for them. The boys/men get them pregnant and leave. The break down of the FAMILY is a huge factor in this. In addition, many of them are on drugs, or simply don’t want to work, and they live off the system. Now, with the work requirements, these women get part time jobs so they can still keep their benefits. Plus, we keep allowing more illegals to come in who allow businesses to keep wages down. That said, We DON’T make enough money. Even at $15/hour, unless too people work, it’s hard to support a family.

Unemployment is at it's lowest point right now. When you have little to no illegal immigration, companies hire the people who are in the country paying taxes and are obligated to raise the wages when they can't give $5-$6 to people. When ppl on say section 8 as an example good program n theory but its abused by both the ppl using it and the ppl that they rent from exploiting the state for a lil more $$ n over time rents go up or illigals can fill affordable housing living 1 legal and 10 illigals to a unit. After almost three years of digging and research into our economy, I have found that we are being fed a steady stream of rubbish . . . or as they used to call it when Joseph Goebbels did the same with the Germans during and prior to WW2, propaganda.
Here in California District 10, we voted out the corrupt republican Jeff Denham and replaced him with the centrist democrat Josh Harder. My wife and I just went to see him at a town hall last Friday. While he seems to be an earnest young man, whose great merit was he took no corporate PAC money to fund his campaign, seeing and hearing him talk has convinced me that we are only incrementally better off. His vote to adopt Nancy Pelosi's "paygo rule" at the beginning of his term ruined his reputation. Better him than the previous republican, yet we voters need to do better.
We will be voting for Bernie Sanders in 2020, if not him then Elizabeth Warren. If those choices are eliminated, I will vote third party. My wife does not agree with me about voting third party because she fears another Trump term, but we have to make a stand. Trump has really highlighted how bad things have gotten, in a way that Clinton would not . . . this is the only saving grace of the Trump regime. More people have opened their eyes, but it might get worse if people don't vote for a pronounced public policy change.

@Ashok Hegde "No one 'gives' money to the rich. "
The government does as does the FED. Billionaires get all the socialism they want.
They were given $29 Trillion in bailout money after the sub prime crash. They gamble for a living. They keep the profit when they win, but if they lose the lotto, then the poor and middle class need to pay for their poor choices. They used that $29 trillion to buy massive amounts of property and jack up rents, causing the affordable housing crisis. The rich are getting negative interest rates in Europe.
Amazon paid zero in taxes, and gets a check for $290 million. Every war we are in is about profiting the rich. These are all hand outs to billionaires.
      "They earn it."
No rich person earns their money, just as when the government raises taxes, they are not 'earning' more. The rich get money by taxing, just like government. Government taxes wages, while the rich tax labor.
"handing out free stuff to the poor only makes them weak"
You would rather them eat the rich and middle class? Working doesn't put a roof over the head and food on the table, but not working makes the rich billions.
"We have a severe problem with basic responsibility"
Yes, as the rich take no responsibility for the misery that they cause.
"too many poor people pop out kids and get stuck in poverty for their entire lives. "
Birth rates are dropping like a rock, and are below replacement rates. Having kids in America is not affordable for half of the country. The magic of capitalism is that it makes the richest country on earth, too poor to reproduce.
So all those that cook for you, wait on you, ring up your orders, and serve you, deserve to have their genetic footprint wiped from the face of the earth?
That is how you view your fellow man?
      That is your argument.

@Ashok Hegde "You wage is based on the scarcity"
Wages are set by the company. There are few market forces involved. An employer decides what the pay is and if he doesn't fill the position then it stays empty. An employee isn't in the position to negotiate. That is the entire reason unions were created
"If your wage is so low that you can barely afford your essentials, while you share rent, then by no means are you competent enough to parent."
You are describing 164.5 million, of the 329 million Americans, as incompetent, because of their vocations.
"We want less than replacements rates."
Not a typical racist republican, I see. Libertarian?
"f the US indeed suffers a shortage of unskilled labor, then and only then will real wages rise."
pay doesn't rise with shortage, unless the shortage is abrupt and catastrophic, like with a strike.
"The truth is, we have too much labor on the planet. We have no use for at least a third of the population"
Soon there will be no need for 100% of the population. AI will replace most high paying jobs jobs in a lot shorter time than people think. The singular idea of using GPU's got us to this point in just a few years.
The problem is the game, that has people as just resources getting nearly free labor. The last people standing are not people with any skills, just the ones who were in charge and decided that only they had value.
"Just let market forces work, and you won’t see such price inflation"
Markets don't work much with capitalism. Capital buys up the properties and sets rents high. Capital has no real pressing need to fill those units. It's an asset on the books they can borrow against, and the losses are a deduction from their tax liabilities. A corporation can loose billions a quarter for many years without issue.
That is the magic of capital, and why markets don't matter to capital.
Too big for markets, is a thing.
The investors are not competing against each other, rather, together against the renters.
"Govt employees can’t keep up with the brainpower to top tier banking brainpower."
That is true, and why they offer percentages of fines to professional whistle blowers that make cases for them.
"Get govt out of housing and no more housing crashes."
They were pushing home buying by giving out NINA loans, used by house flippers. When the interest rate reset they all went into default. That created the crash, and that was the basis to get the bailout that let them buy up all the foreclosed homes in a crashed housing market. More top tier banking brainpower.

43% of U.S. households can't afford a monthly budget that includes housing, food, child care, health care, transportation and a cell phone.
Skilled and married people can't afford children when they are at the lowest risk for birth defects. There are Doctors who can't afford children, because of student debt on top of malpractice insurance. There are married doctors living in their parents basements.
Is the goal of capitalism to spread misery and poverty? That is what it is doing, so you can talk about markets all you want, but stepping back is required.

He kept complaining that the problem is that people are getting evicted or housing is too expensive, but he just skims over why housing prices are at a certain level. For example, I have a housing property that serves a low income area and the rates are kept inflated mainly due to the government's involvement, in that there are a large amount of people living in properties they could not afford otherwise without the government covering part/all of their rent each month. This means that the supply of tenants who can accept a higher price point has been artificially inflated; and if this is the case then why would property owners ever lower their rental rates when the government is ensuring that they have no need to put forth a lower price to keep their buildings filled?
This is just one of many issues that can be addressed to solve housing issues for the masses, as others like income disparity are important, but it is one that I have seen continuously ignored in discussions on this topic.

If people didn't keep trying to live above their means, this would be a much, much smaller problem. When times are good and you're making money, you should save some of it (beyond saving for retirement) to handle emergencies. Instead, most people buy new cars, go on vacations, and buy more clothes and toys to take up all the income they're making, and then borrow more on credit cards. And then, how many thousands of people have children when they can barely afford to support themselves?

There was a study out of UCLA anderson school of economics that showed around 50% of the housing costs in California are directly linked to government regulation. The cost to build a home is: cost of land + cost of the structure + cost of permits/regulation approval. The cost of the land is also influenced by regulation. When you adjust for all the factors. 50% of the housing cost is directly linked to regulation. For example, in California large portions of the state are off limits to construction due to environmental protections. In other parts of California there are laws which restrict how big of a home you can build on the land. While other parts require extensive costs for environmental studies, traffic studies and noise studies. All of this adds to the cost of building new homes. So ultimately what happens is people get priced out. A certain portion of the population will basically be required to live in their car/on the streets because there is simply not enough actual bedrooms to house everyone. Even providing housing vouchers and assistance will not solve the problem because rents will push up higher and force a different set of people on to the streets.

Normally, people will move to a place they can make a life/get a job. But for sanctuary states, it is another story.
No matter how much money gov't or anybody pours in, such as UBI, it is just fueling inflation as if the housing market can't provide enough renting houses/apartments meet people's demand. More buildings, fewer people swam in. No other way unless there are limitless buildings for rent. Needless to say, to build any infrastructure is expensive and complicated in the US.

I feel like there is no incentive to make housing plentiful just to lower the prices of rent. Real estate developers and landlords would rather purposely limit the supply of housing just to keep rent up. People may say 3D printed homes will help solve this in the future, but I don't see it happening. Companies that 3D print homes will be bought out and used to construct rental property sparingly to keep the supply of rental property low.
