I'm using an Octillery in my playthrough right now, and I've just got to say, this thing's type coverage is absolutely nuts. Sludge Bomb, Energy Ball, Psychic, Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Mud Shot, Scald, even Bounce for some reason. And that's just a small part of the list.

My favorite has to be either Milotic or Gastrodon. Milotic mainly for its looks + I love to use it as a staller, and Gastrodon is my favorite of the water/ground pokemon besides Swampert, and I love to use it on my ground monotype teams.

I like Milotic's beautiful design, it's just pure magestic and elegant plus it's so bulky combined with Recover and leftovers can make it almost immortal. In my first platinum play through I caught a Feebas after unlocking the strength HM I went to Mount coronet to fish for a Feebas, and after a few eternities(few hours). I found a Sassy nature Feebas, named it Goddess. And it lived upto it's name and obliterated the elite four and Cynthia's God obliterating Garchomp with Dragon pulse. My moveset was, 1) Rain dance 2) Surf 3) Dragon pulse 4) Recover
I just started a cynthia team challenge and defeated gardenia with my budew. She refused to evolve beforehand so it was hard, but I couldnt be more proud of her :3
My favorite water Pokémon is Milotic! I remember playing pokemon sun (my first pokemon game) and trying to catch Feebas so I could evolve it into Milotic. I finally caught one after a few days and I got so excited! However I didn't know you needed to have it hold a heart scale and trade I sadly didn't have anyone to trade it to and trade it back to me. Still love Milotic and I hope finally get one when I'm able to buy Brilliant Diamond! :D
I'm doing a nuzlocke and so far, two of my water types have died to most unfortunate circumstances. First my poor floatzel to a HORN DRILLING ponyta in the underground of all things, which hit on the first attempt of the move too. Then medichamp in Iron island decides to crit a thunderpunch into my gyarados. If only I had remembered this thing gets elemental punches... My golem's love for me was the only thing that saved it from dying to a girafarig's future sight.

for the ice gym i used 2 tail glows with a many and 1 shotted snover sneasel and medic ham by outspeeding all of them but abomasnow kill manaphy cuz quad resitst
My favorite water type is probably Vaporeon, but only for the fact that Eevee and the Eeveelutions are all in my top 10 favorite Pokemon because they're all ones I'd actually love to own in real life. Not for the weird Vaporeon thing.
I chose the water type in 3,5,6,7 and 8. I guess I started liking the water type starters as the gens went by. But I wouldn't mind picking fire in 3,6 and 7 cuz they are good. I have NEVER chosen a grass type starter ever and am kind of thinking about doing it on my copy on Shining Pearl when it gets delivered. Brilliant Diamond is my main with Infernape.

My favorite water type is definitely Greninja. I love it’s design as a frog ninja and it’s typing is also cool, plus the anime with ash Greninja also adds to it and Greninja quickly became my favorite.
Psyduck isn’t only my favorite water type, but it’s my favorite Pokémon of all time. Has been since I was watching the original anime growing up. Misty’s was so funny. But anyway yea, I love that little duck. Not to mention it has a damn good shiny too lol
