    I’m a Packers fan, and is it weird to say I feel for you guys. Vikings are a very good team, you’d take a 14-3 season any day. But this Lions team is just insanely good, and to think they’re still dominating with all the injuries on defence. The Lions are just that good and there’s not much we can do about it, props to them, and their fans deserve it, they’ve been waiting for ages to enjoy some success.

Pay attention to a game in late Oct when you played LA and lost 30-20. Yeah, you got a chance though huh…. Ridiculous! Next year you’ll be locked in the North’s basement, right under Chicago. Let’s not pretend the Bears Packers game was legit. Bears played well, but the Packers rested some guys and then lost the rest to injury, had no game plan on purpose as to not disadvantage themselves in the playoffs, gifted the Bears all kinds of points, and played terribly, coached poorly, and yet…the Bears really still should have lost. No one care about the Bears winning outside of Chicago. Losing Watson is way way way more painful.

It’s good that it happened now and not in the playoffs. Vikings will respond after this performance. It’s the playoffs now so the best course of action is to forget about this game and focus on the Rams. Anything can happen in a win or go home 60 minute game. Good luck.

    Much respect to Minnesota. They are a worthy team. That said: The Lions left no doubt as to who is the king of the NFC North. The Lions swept the division. In this game, the Lions mash unit defense shut down the offensive "weapons" of Minnesota, exposing Darnold to be the journeyman/placeholder quarterback he is. I know it must be a bitter pill for Minnesota fans to swallow, but it is clear by any objective standard, Stats:The Lions have won five straight, and six out of the last seven games with Minnesota. Spirit: The iron will of the Lions, what Detroit calls grit, enables them to enforce their will on Minnesota, the Lions are the better team. If you can’t score a touchdown, you don’t deserve to win.

    Dude Paul sounds so much how I as a Lions fan sounded all through the Stafford era, every year I found a way to convince myself why the team would be good, I remember the 2014 season how I convinced myself we could beat Green Bay and win in the playoffs.Then the Dallas game happened. Or how every time we looked like we would beat Rodgers and the Packers the refs found a way to blow a call or something. I'm from Wisconsin and my best friends are Packers fans, and that was always so hard to watch and sit back and see them win. They lost a lot more in the playoffs than they won though, but they did bring home a championship, which i've never gotten to see my team do. So this year hearing all the packers fans complain about the refs and calls against the Lions, I cannot tell you how sweet that feels now that the roles are reversed.

    First props for coming out an doing this even after your team lost. Not a lot of fans would do that.
    Something I thought of that I wanted to share;
    So I watched the video you guys made prior to this, the one on the match up, and one thing that Paul said in that is Goff and Darnold were about even in this match up, which was a surprise to me, considering that Goff has been in many big time games and played in the playoffs, has several winning seasons under his belt, whereas Sam Darnold has never played in a game this big, has never had a winning season as a starter until coming out this season for the first time in his career basically. I know the stats showed that he was just a bit behind Goff, but you can't take stats for everything. I'm not saying he hasnt had a good season, but that experience in those big time games over the years adds up, and Goff is clearly the better quarterback, and he proved it again last night.

    Did these people really think that Darnolds struggles were over? Like Cowboys thinking Daks struggles end with $60M in his pocket? The key is ‘processing under pressure’! The great ones heart rate slows under pressure. Watch them when pressure rises, their pace rises too! And the game speed and their heart rate rises with the pressure! Look at their eyes! Mahomes eyes never change with pressure 👁️👁️ The great ones don’t!

  • @Charleybones
    @Charleybones 16 дней назад

    Lions fan here. Appreciate you guys bringing the truth. I expected a much tighter game, and although Darnold seemed to crumble to the pressure of a big game, some of the play calling by KOC ad the OC seemed really bad. In all of the goal line drives the Vikings had inside the Lions 10 yard line, , almost no run plays were called. Yes, the Lions defensive strength has been their run fence, but not challenging them with a few runs plays play straight into their 66% blitz game plan. Outside of the one big breakaway run, the Vikings almost never ran the ball in the 2nd half. Once the Lions Defence makes your offense one dimensional - which always seems to be the game plan, you are playing into their defenses hands. If Darnold had connected on just a few passes, the game could have opened up. But the Lions pass rush (which finally woke up in week 18) seemed to really get to Darnold confidence. Also, Hockenson was a ghost in this game. How can a guy who is getting paid $15mil a year be targeted 9 times and catch only 2 passes for 9 yards? No one wants to say it, but I think that Hockenson is scared to death of getting popped again by Kerby or Branch. And no, I don't think that the Lions D secondary is out to end anyone's season by going low. But as long as being allowed to tackle below the waist is legal, all Defensive secondary players in the NFL will try to tackle a player there when they are being outweighed and outsized by 50lbs and 4 inches, rather than try to hit them above the waist where they are at a huge disadvantage.
    All in all, a hard-fought game between 2 very good teams, and a showcase for the rest of the NFL that the Black & Blue Division is the toughest division in the league. Good Luck in LA.
    PS Many are interpreting MCDC's comments to KOC after the game about seeing the Vikings again in 2 weeks as condescension. Not at all. Listen to him long enough and you will see that he doesn't operate on that level. He sincerely expects you guys to be back at Ford Field in 2 weeks. You just gotta get there. And Darnold has to show up....

    Dude.. you guys are 14-3. That's rare air. And I hate to tell you this, I know you don't want to hear it.. but the Lions are arguably the best team in Football. They are legitimately a cut above the rest of the North, at the very least. The Vikings will lick their wounds and be better for it. This is NOT the same old vikings.. and that's coming from a die hard Packers fan who has ALWAYS referred to the Vikings as perennial bed shitters.

    • @lolnocody
      @lolnocody 18 дней назад +2

      Idk that you can say that, they could have the worst season ever next season just like in the past. Moving on from cousins was wise but Darnold shit the bed in this game hard and he will do it again. Can't take the seeing ghosts out of Darnold. Exposed.

      @eastsideleek313 you have to be mature and wise to analyze a team's chances independent of record. Poverty teams and franchises victory lap after the regular season (seeding and record). The packers made the playoffs but their season is over right now. It's very evident looking at their play. The vikings season is likely over as well. The lions are now the most vulnerable team because they seem invincible. How many times did the packers have the 1 seed and the best record and just lose. The Lions are counting their eggs now, just wait for the implosion

    • @lukekiefer5964
      @lukekiefer5964 18 дней назад

      On top of that, Darnold had one bad game. It came in arguably the most important game of the season, but players have bad games. It’s nearly impossible to play high level football 17/17 games. I have no reason to think Darnold won’t come out next game and play well.
      As a Packer fan, I thought our team was going to be at that top tier level this year and they just haven’t played that way. And yet, there’s always a chance to beat Philly. I think the Vikings are in a similar boat to us in that we played above realistic expectations for the team, we can beat anyone on our best day, and if we go deep in the playoffs, it’s awesome and if not, it won’t be nearly as crushing as it was post 2010 Super Bowl.

    Hey guys, I appreciate the genuineness of your show. As a packer fan I feel like you’ve built up a sibling rivalry with us as a two team fan base where we share our ups and downs and your ups and downs every week. I think you guys will go in next week and beat the rams. What will be interesting is if you make it to the divisional round can Sam darnold play like he did against us in Minnesota. If he gets out of pressure and makes the throws you can beat any of the 3 teams you would face. What sucks for us all is the lions built a culture where they play not afraid to lose. They’re all in and when lafleur or O’Connell try to emulate what Dan Schneider does it doesn’t work because the culture of being ok to fail isn’t there. Anyway keep up the great podcast I only listen to you guys now. I pray that you guys keep growing as your podcast is awesome. God bless!

No one remembers the failed Super Bowl runs except the fans of that team. I’ve seen the Packers win 4 SBs in my life, the SB I remember the most is the loss to Elway. He was Denver’s QB and Favre didn’t get the back to back SB wins. We lost 31-24 and were heavy favorites. Didn’t pan out.
