As I understand it, Bitmain prices their products based on what the ROI is. If BTC goes up, they raise prices. If hashrate goes down, they raise prices. If electricity costs of their customers goes down, they raise prices. S21 is a significant amount more efficient, so I think the extra price is justified. Especially with halving coming, they know that many miners will have no choice.
