Videos are super helpful but I wold love more examples with puppies that don't already just follow the command. Many of the puppies in the video obviously have already been taught the command but it would be helpful to see how to train unexperienced/first time puppies misbehaving (biting, barking, not following luring). I agree, I just got my poodle (super smart 9 week old baby), and she’s not following my lure right away and I’m panicking, but after 10x repeat she started doing it, so my expectations were just too high 😅

We have had our Aussiedoodle pup for 4 weeks now (got him at 12 weeks) and I have been bingewatching your videos. We have been trying to follow all your tips, but it's so tough to see what a whole day should look like while training a new pup. Some days are amazing, other days are overwhelming and exhausting and he is just so active and so bitey. He has started biting in anger and frustration when he doesn't get what he wants (usually when we stop him from getting into things). I wish I could bring him to train with you. He's such a sweet, smart boy, but the biting tantrums are stressful.
When he’s doing something naughty, say no, have a treat in your hand snd bring him to his bed, say place and give him a treat. Start teaching him place, and treat every time you put him in place, or simply lure there with a treat. They catch on very quickly. We have a treat container on a shelf right above our dogs bed in the family room.
I have a 12 week old puppy and we just started house training 2 days ago because we were waiting for him to be vaccinated. He still has his 4 month vaccines to get, but he’s less likely to get anything like parvo now than he was before his 3 month vaccines. We used puppy pads because you don’t really know what everyone else’s dogs have who live in the apartments. They’re really bad to use because it teaches them that it’s okay to go in the house and they see it as just another thing in the house, our puppy was peeing everywhere because he didn’t think he needed to use them. So that’s why I jump started it. You can buy grass patches if you want your puppy to be safe and still get the idea of using grass. But I bring him out, in the same spot every time. limit what he smells/licks and just wait. He’s only had about 3 accidents. I take him out every hour and a half. And in the middle of the night. You don’t want them to learn that it’s okay to go in their crate. Also if they cry in their crate, let them cry it out. Trust me our puppy SCREAMED for a week straight and we didn’t get in trouble because people here didn’t care. I just left a note on my neighbors door saying “sorry for the noise house and crate training new puppy”. I hope this helps♥️and your puppy grows to be amazing. We also bought a doggy doorbell on Amazon since we don’t have a doggy door!! And he learned to use it the first day.
Can you do one for biting? I’ve tried all of your previous videos, other videos, online articles, etc. And use a puppy that actually jumps and tries to bite??
Finding a collar to fit my chihuahua is so difficult. I finally found a harness to fit after trying several. I found a cat collar fits him. Is it essential to have a collar against a harness. I live in a rural town, Australia.
my nabour just got given a rottie husky mix, hes had no training and was taken at like 5 weeks old. I attempted to offer free help because i love training dogs and i spent a little time with the dog and he was extremely bitey and barky. The owner then decided to just not want my help becasue its too much affort apparently. Now i hear him crying every night in their garden and hes not bothering to train him at all. Big sigh

@@kaylirosales3083 very normal for puppies to follow you around especially during the first few weeks. separation anxiety is more likely to occur if they are used to being next to you every time you are home. teach the crate command and have your puppy go to their crate when you are cleaning or eating, or whatever you feel is appropriate. it’ll help them feel more confident alone over time
Crate training seems to be working for people allocating 100% of their time to the puppy. In fact, you need to get them out every one hour or two.. so this is not practical for people who work and have other things to do
If you're going to get a puppy, you should take vacation from work specifically so you can sort these things out with most of your attention from the start. Like a "maternity leave" of sorts. If you can't take your pup out every hour or two then you shouldn't get a pup.. get an older dog with an established bladder
You’re right, it’s not practical; so a puppy wouldn’t be a practical investment. Puppies are not lawn ornaments and you cannot “set it and forget it” in terms rearing. Puppies are literal babies.

Keep talking to them as if they aren't deaf. They can't hear the sound, but they can still "feel" your breath and you want to keep your natural speech. You'll probably end up using the leash more and use treats that's unique to training so they can associate that scent and taste with training. Keep within their line of sight. I know people use hand signals too, but I've never done that. Good luck!
I've got the peeing part down, but my puppy does not want to poop outside and when he does, he doesn't completely go and when I take him inside then he hides and goes, how do I fix that problem?
i had to accept it and keep my puppy outside even longer till i saw him go again then i would take him in again. put grass pads in your puppy’s hiding spots so he knows when he sees grass that’s when he’s supposed to poop
I have a question, what would be the best way to limit dog resource guarding? Our first dog who is a 16 month old malamute has been developing more territorial behaviors while we are at the dog park. She'll be very possessive of balls and other dogs' water dishes. Before she would just leave more aggressive dogs alone and find something else to do, but she's been reacting to them being more aggressive trying to be more dominant than them. She enjoys meeting other dogs and loves playing but once there are toys, treats, or other dogs are saying hi to us she'll be more aggressive to them being more dominant. Other than the resource guarding she's very sweet and pretty well behaved, just doesn't do well with trying to share or accept that other dogs can have their own ball or water dish. I was wondering what are some things I could do to help limit that behavior right now as well as what are some things I should have done when she was younger. So that I may know what to do with future puppies.
Teach her "leave it" command at home, get it solid then use it to move her away from other dogs/toys at park BEFORE a situation escalates. You have to be able to verbally guide her. Leave it, then "let"s go" and move away , not to leave the park but that dog/toy. Will take a lot of repeats. May need to keep on a ling leash at first so she can't fail, that is, reinforce old undesirable dominant behaviors.

Once they do go outside can they be out of the crate? Oh and say I take them back outside after 20-30 minutes of being out, take him outside and he doesn’t go. Does he go back in the crate?Thank you.
I walk around with the puppy outside until he pees and does his business, and treat with a little piece of chicken and lots of praise, then go back in. I never just send them outside alone at a young age and not already potty trained. Capture the moment they go, say yes, be happy, treat.
it's best not to give your dogs treats when they pee outside because they often develop "phantom pees" to trick you into giving them a treat, just praise them heavily and play with them! it also develops a better bond when you don't use food for everything :)

If you home cook your dog's food, please follow veterinarian approved recipes. The nutritional balance has to be correct. There's also fresh food subscription services that use human-grade food prepared in USDA inspected kitchens.
@@timothyevo It's not complicated to feed a dog homecooked meals. You look up what Dogs CAN"T eat first. Dogs need Meat and Vegetables just like Humans. Buying " human grade " food is expensive and un necessary. Food is food. There is no such thing as " Human Grade ".

Even the premium kibble brands are questionable. That's why I went with fresh food created in partnership with veterinarian nutritionists.

It means the food you're feeding your pet can also be safely consumed by humans. That's why I chose it. And "expensive" is relative term. For me it's affordable. For others, I always recommend getting the best quality food you can afford.

What do you do when your puppy will not take anything from you though?
I just only let my puppy eat from my hand the first couple days. Eventually he got hungry enough. After a few hours he ate from my hand.

Human Babies don't get potty trained until they are 1years old. Puppies will have accidents.
I think leaving the Poop on the ground will help explain that the Potty is outside.
