I have always loved BBW, but I honestly don’t think they have the quality of product anymore that warrants premium prices.

Walmart has three wicks under $5 that perform really well so why is B&BW charging so much more for theirs! Of course their packaging is more upscale but not 6 times more upscale smh. It’s getting ridiculous which is why I only shop candle day or SAS. Would never pay full price. Same goes for the body care.

Not greed. It is about control and their destructive climate Agenda. Ultimately the rich get richer. Any product that has to transport parts is impacted by gas prices. This Administration wants to slow consumption and needs layoffs in order to slow the inflation THEY caused. They also want us hurting so we don’t complain when they introduce more ESG and their FedNow card to control us. The “lovely people” unnecessarily killed millions of chickens because they were afraid of bird flu. Thank them when paying $5 and up for a dozen eggs. Stock up on anything canned you will need. Due to shut downs and flooding in China aluminum is going to be in short supply over next few months. Don’t know how serious the problem will be. We are be attacked by an octopus of many tentacles. Prepare.

When BBW had the nerve to have that $19 candle sale in December right before Christmas, I was fed up! 😡😤
Well, I’ll be using up my stash and then be very selective shopping. It’s been a while since there has been a scent in anything that I’ve absolutely loved and “had to have”.

Absolutely! I am going on a no buy and will just use my rewards. That's another issue, I'm not even excited to use my rewards, i like to get mists but now I can't even use my rewards on them bc of the price increase!

You're so right! I used to struggle to decide what to buy because there was so much to love! Now I struggle to decide what (or if) to buy because so much of it is just boring.
Bath and Body works prices have in years past been too high, but low enough with sales stacked on top. Now, they are so high that even with sales like %50 off it's hard to justify supporting the greed. The prices are in no way reasonable compared to how much it must cost them to produce any of the items.
This is the thing they are just being greedy and price gauging. I’m hoping to find a new just as good company. Let’s be real this is not prestige level candles or body care. It’s cute but not at prestige level especially when alot of thing are hit and miss
It’s not just the cost to make the product. Cost of goods sold include the entire supply chain and everything is increasing including trucking, manufacturing and labour. Bath and body works also has a lot of employees and are one of the best paying retail companies in North America. All of these things play a part in increased prices plus they also need to make a profit to stay in business.
I also own a small business and the cost of shipping and supplies for me has increased 25% in the last 4 months and I am closing my shop

It’s really hard with the price increase. I love B&BW but I notice the quality has gone down. Sometimes you get body cream with a barely there scent or a candle with no fragrance.
With the prices going up, there should be no inconsistencies at all. It shouldn’t be blind luck whether your $26.95 candle is going to throw.
Wait, are you saying that exact products/scents you've purchased before have dipped in aroma strength? Or that some scents just aren't potent?
Seems like it's wise to test the sample bottles, but I guess the sample could be fine, but not the stocked one you buy.
It irks my nerves when BBW just randomly charges more for a specific item and doesn't even bother to give a flimsy explanation for it, just leaves customers to justify it for themselves with lines like "well it's a special lid" or "well faceted is more premium" We know these variations dont cost them that much lol
Bath and body works are raising prices about a few times a year! That's ridiculous there's absolutely no excuse for that they are going downhill so many issues with the company

I cant justify spending that much anymore. Even the sales arent that great for me so ill be using up my stash and looking for other alternatives for everything. Once my free rewards go up to 16.95 ill use them then im out. I love BBW but i cant financially handle the price increases. Honestly this sucks 😕
i'm using my rewards and dipping too. hoping the golden mango lagoon is 1) out early enough for me to use rewards 2) as good as i'm hoping for and 3) not faceted
Yep. Almost $20 retail for a watered down fragrance mists and body washes is insane. I'll just use Olay body wash and buy high end perfumes that will actually last, unlike B&BW flavored water mists.

Lower prices, better quality, more coupons... we had it better then.
You have to discover other companies before they get too popular. And they start lessening the quality and raising the price to get more profit. Greed kicks in with too much popularity for shareholders.
I have to say as a bath and body works candle collector, I am really reevaluating my future candle purchase. I am loving Goosecreek prices and quality, so I think I am going to stay with them for now. Not paying anything over $14 for 3 wick. Loving my Scooby Doo candles!

I’ve always been very loyal to BBW…but I stopped adding to my collection with them about 6months ago. Nothing new for me to get excited about anymore. I am willing to try Goose Creek now. I love the body sprays, but will go through my stash before I buy anymore body care from them.
Goose creek is the way to go! Frequent sales, secure packaging on delivery, and the candles smell VERY strong! Have loved nearly every candle I've ordered
I love Goose Creek! 😍 Great throw and price. Creativity in scents is delightful. Some individuals are bothered by sooting but I don't notice or care.
Goose Creek customer service is trash and they take forever to ship. Also blind buying... And then the returns.
The part that gets me the most is we're getting doubly screwed. They're being greedy and expecting us to pay way more than this stuff is worth AND they come out with so few NEW scents.
Like, why should we pay more for just the same old same old?? I have bought so much less in the last year compared to years before.

The worst is when you think you are getting something new, only to find out it is a repackage. For example, sea salt and sails is now sailing in the Mediterranean. At least let us know in the description.
I'm only getting a among the clouds shower gel with my 1 reward I have. Not buying anything else. Going to use my 75% off sas gels.

As someone barely getting back into Bath & Bodyworks, I am only shopping 60% off and better sales like SAS because regular pricing was already too high imo and now its just not doable even at half off, I already have to do serious mental gymnastics just to justify candle day pricing and now 😵😵😵
I’ve been wanting to cut back on my spending at BBW , this will help me be selective about my purchases. I have 600 ish 3- wicks so using them will help. I think a lot of corporations are taking advantage of inflation and raising their prices to excess. Happy Sunday!

Between the candles...body care...wallflowers and refills...hand soaps and hand sanitizers...room sprays that I have on hand I literally do not ever have to go back into B&BW ever again🤦🏽♀️ I have my own darn store right here at home. So I'm with you....time to stop spending! That's the only way they will get the message and change those prices!
Yeah I have enough to last me all year…..at least til semi annual sale. If it’s not a $4.95 sale on body care or $12.95 for candles it’s gonna be a shop my stash sale 😂

Bath and body works can raise their prices to whatever they want. I’m not buying nothing unless it’s on sale. Problem is their quality is decreasing as their prices are increasing and that I have a problem with.

The selection is a joke, too. I went to my store today. They had eight body care scents for spring and only THREE of them were actually new. The other five were rereleases/repackages.
I don’t mind a repackage every now and then and I was glad we got the vanilla mocha martini and the whipped rose and vanilla back but strawberry pound cake is something that’s been on the shelves like 3 years straight like it’s a permanent thing why are they repackaging it over and over? Half of the stuff in the permanent collection are things I wouldn’t even take a second glance at like champagne toast, warm vanilla sugar, into the stars and into the night. Those are all scents I’m personally over and wouldn’t miss if they retired them. The really good scents that people go crazy for and actually love are the ones you see on the shelves for like 3 months and that’s it. Wrapped in vanilla should just be permanent staple. It was perfection even though the body spray was a little weird compared to the body wash, cream and lotion. And if you want wrapped in vanilla now you have to go on mercari. I find myself on mercari buying things like orange vanilla twist and chocolate covered cherry because who knows if you’re gonna get them again. I don’t know hopefully after these flops this month they will get it together by Easter.
@Xai Yu I totally agree. I just burned 2 brand new B&BW candles-warm sugar & coffee and whiskey. Warm sugar had no throw. Coffee & whiskey had a 5 out of 10 for throw. Seems I have been receiving duds, within the last 4 months.
@@xaiyu4104 Wrapped In Vanilla has a Christmas Cookies base to it imo. You can really tell in the shower gel. I never got to experience the cream or lotion because I resigned myself to only buying the FFM. When it was on sale I just got three bottles of it to last me with my Christmas Cookies and Sugared Snickerdoodles from last year. Now I LOVE my Champagne Toast and Into The Night but they can certainly get rid of Warm Vanilla Sugar (since it has no smell anyway) and Into The Stars because it just straight up stinks!!!! They could also get rid of Rose, Gingham, and Gingham Love, especially if they keep You’re The One. If they’re gonna be seasonal then bring the good stuff back when the seasons return!! Crap like Pastel Skies and Cloud Nine should never have come back. Strawberry Pound Cake needs to go away too!!! I’m sick of it. I have the mist in the faceted and it’s so weak it’s ridiculous!!! The cream and lotion smell wayyyyyy better though!!!

I'm not buying anymore BBW, especially since they want to charge you the price difference if you do an exchange. They shouldn't have rolled out four different price points all at the same time. And so many scents are repackages :(
I am thrilled I boarded so many candles over the past three years… the quality of BBW candles were far superior before 2022. The constant price increases. The constant relabeling! So much less creativity in scents, no bake shop… I am really souring towards BBW. Kringle, Goose Creek, Homeworx… I’m thankful you introduced me to these brands. ❤
I definitely will be shopping goose creek and small businesses more this year. Also the fact that their shipping and online issues are so horrible. It’s just ridiculous.

In my opinion, they’re seeing the inflated prices people are willing to pay on Mercari and eBay and figuring that if people are willing to pay an arm and a leg to a reseller, then why not raise prices.

Faceted sprays are $18.95 and I almost had a STROKE and I don't even want to think about the $17.95 moisturizing body wash when the Vanilla Bean Noel I JUST BOUGHT has a $13.50 price tag. I about passed OUT
And they are so watered down, it's not even funny! I used to enjoy using my rewards on the sprays, but now I can't with the price increases. Ridiculous. I'm glad I have a large stash, I'm not giving them any more money.

Makes me really glad I have a huge stock pile of everything from BBW. I don't need anything so I will be using up my stock of body care and candles before purchasing more. I feel like the scents are not as good as they use to be. I was just swapping out seasonal candles and I have a ton of them from 2018. That was such a great year for candles.

I agree about the scents not being as good. Bonnie posted a video not long ago naming her top 15 scents, which got me thinking about my favorites. Almost all of them were from atleast 10 years ago.

The price increase will definitely slow me down, being elderly and on a fixed income and the price of groceries and medicine some thing has to give. It’s like a punishment to your older customers but no one seems to really care about us. Thank you Bonnie for your input, no one likes the raise and thank you for speaking up about it.

Bonnie I love your positive attitude towards the end of the video and all of your tips! I’ve cut back on BBW and I still have a HUGE collection. With the price increases I will not be buying unless I have coupons and there is a sale. I think it’s harder for those of us who have shopped BBW for years and now the prices have gotten so outrageous it can’t be justified. I will not be paying $17 or $18 for a body mist and I’ll enjoy the candles I have until I feel there is a good enough sale or I’ll branch out and shop elsewhere.
There are also local shops I love to support and I would rather spend my money there.

Yes girl it’s just ridiculous!! I went in store today to grab some wallflowers while they were on sale. I had a $7 body cream coupon and was going to use it on Pastel skies. I didn’t realize the coupon was only up to $17.95 and Pastel Skies was $18.50!! No thank you! Nuts!! I put it back and got Among the clouds. Still $17.95! After both coupons ($7 body cream and 20% off) I got it for $5 and change. That’s the only way I’ll be shopping with these increases. I was telling the sales associate and she said the employees were just talking about it. She said you should never charge more than $10 for some soap 😂

So many of us are on budgets and looking for ways to save. I appreciate you showing us the Aldi's candles. I think they are a good alternative for those of us that have small incomes and the packaging on their Valentine candles makes them good to give all year or for Mother's Day.

2023 is the year to shop my stash. I have plenty to last me a very long time. I have gotten to where between the price increases and the exchange policy change, I am not excited to shop BBW. Even at 75% off $17.95 you are still paying $4.50. I feel like I am getting a good deal when I am paying in the $3 range, like last SAS. If there is a good sale and I have a coupon I might take advantage, I don’t know…just not fun anymore. Your fun, Bonnie. I will continue to watch your channel regardless of my feelings for BBW.

I do not buy shower gels anymore at bath and bodyworks unless there is a sale and sas because I have other bodywashes that I can pair My Bodycream and or lotion and fragrance mist with I Started that 2 years ago It help save me some money
And sale price is all its worth anyway so passing bbw up is very easy

Yes they have already lost me as a shopper on reagler priced items. The quality has gone down and the price way to high. I am only shopping sales. But have to say most of the stuff now stinks it might smell good for a min but not worth the high price.
My sister makes these candles in the factory they cost no more than 5 bucks to make so yeah kind of a rip off asking almost 30
So they make all their items what 200+ days in advance. So they are marking up their stuff months ago. BBW I hope your team is reading the comments. I will no longer purchase with you guys anymore. Y’all are being shady!! To price increase SPC as a freaking re-package??!! Then on top of it the new horrendous return policy!! Y’all should have NEVER let people return empty products for full size items because the loyal customers get screwed in the long term!

With how strict the return policy is now plus the price increase, I just wont be shopping there as much. I love BBW but I just won't pay $17 for a body wash, that is just insane. And the customer service at my store is just terrible, I always dread going in store because the workers and the managers especially are so rude.
I still remember when the candles were 20 bucks a pop they’d have a sale every other weekend and the 3 wicks were 10 dollars. On top of that they would be 8.95 on semi annual. It’s crazy seeing them raise to basically double the cost over the years. Don’t get me started in the body care. I do sales only and semi annuals I’d never buy regular price. And lately the scents aren’t as good.
I've only started with scented candles. $10 sounds so GOOD. They had a good sale last week on 3 wicks. I got a $50 gift card from an organization months earlier, and I also went on the newsletter for the 20% off coupon, then loaded up. I made sure to sniff them in person beforehand. These ones I went with are so potent, they scent the air of my living room without me lighting them. Do ya think they'll weaken if I keep em uncovered like that a long time?
I seen on FB that the facet bottles were raised to $18.95. They are raising prices on repackaged body care and candles but the quality is going lower lower.
Hey Bonnie. I love watching your videos but no thanks on these prices! BBW changed the return policy to 90 days. I stocked up on berry waffle cone candle last year and one of them was a dud. Customer service said I cannot even return or exchange. Rediculous! With the price increase I can get a high end perfume and cheaper candles that have better performance. The scents are getting weaker with every price increase as well! No thanks bath and body works! They're just over charging us for pretty packaging. Rediculous!

Not only are the scents getting weaker, they are becoming repetitive. How many eucalyptus smells do we need? Or coconut? Do we really need coconut scents in the deadass middle of winter? (And I say this as someone who loves coconut) It's just lazy at this point.
I think you totally nailed your prediction about BBW spending habits for me as a casual collector. I have toons of stuff and I am very unimpressed with their new prices. I don't think I'll be buying much this year. If I do come in and buy a lot it will be SAS for 75% off.

I honestly hope this is not a permanent price increase and only a temporary for either new seasonal items. If it is permanent I would hope they’re putting more effort into ingredients. Otherwise i don’t think B&BW would last long. I started shifting my money towards goosecreek and yankee candle.

I got them also and it was my first time getting coupons. I was pleasantly surprised.
I used mine today. I got a Sea Salt and Neroli wallflower refill along with the Sailing in the Mediterranean 3 wick candle, another Whipped Rose and Vanilla mist, the Lavender and Vanilla pillow mist, the pink hearts wallflower and a soap holder for the gel soaps that's really pretty and used the 20% off on all that and ended up spending $34.18 total so not too bad but I am out otherwise.

I will be buying less. I have a feeling the typical sales will be more ....like 12.95 candles might be 13.95 or 14.95 when they have a set price candle sell. The 5.95 body care flash sales I think will he rare or maybe increased to 6.95. So basically not sure if a "sale" will even be a sale at this point. I have plenty to use and if it all gets used I'll find other alternatives this is not a need for me . I enjoy it but not a need

These are huge increases in a very short time frame. I’m going to shop my stash and buy only at SAS and the lowest price of the season sales. I won’t buy 3 get 3 because it’s essentially 50% and the sticker price is too high.

Don’t get me wrong, at least it increased but what was the point of increasing rewards value to $16.95 when you can’t actually get most of the products with that reward amount? I’m not liking the direction I’m seeing BBW’s pricing going anymore

Buy 3 get 3 is NOT a good deal, it's only 50% off and that's Only if you buy 6 of the same product type. The price increases are getting to exorbitant levels, I don't think the sale prices will be worth it. From now on it's only SAS for me, maybe a flash sale. Fortunately I have a mini 3 tier cart full of body care to use up. And I have a nice stockpile of candles too. I bought tons of great items this SAS and I'm just going to enjoy using my stash and go on a no buy for the next 6 months. I will use my rewards and that's it. I'll be exploring other fragrances and body care. This makes me sad bc I love B&BW but the quality doesn't match these high prices. 🥺 Regardless, I will still support you and your channel Bonnie! 💗💗💗
If their prices are going to be going up they should make their candles have a good throw,and their body sprays etc too have a strong longer throw scent

I’ve started buying Nest candles instead. I can’t order from BBW anymore because if I order online and don’t like it, it’s a pain to return now. Too many of mine were barely detectable this year. I was a die hard BBW candle addict but I have been successfully rehabilitated. Lol
Check out Opalhouse Candles at Target - 10$ and the new Blush Plum scene (2 wick) one is great! :) Cheaper price and the wax is also burning evenly this time around. 🎉
I plan to use up what I have and not buy candles unless there is a spectacular deal on them.
12:07 04/12/2022 was the first mini sale I have noted for last year. Price was $2.95.
I definitely will be shopping the set price sales at Bath & Body Works this year. I will say the fact that they have been doing so many repackages has saved me money, so that is one positive way of looking at the repackages.
My overall thoughts on the price increases at Bath & Body Works is somewhat negative. I understand 2020 has caused almost every type of business to adjust their prices for different reasons. Bath & Body Works seems to continue to increase their prices and in short periods of time since 2020 to the point it feels like they are taking advantage of customers. I don’t see a benefit to customers from these price increases… Tons of repackages, customer service (via the phone) is definitely becoming less helpful/knowledgeable, some associates in the stores that are newer are not as helpful, knowledgeable or friendly as in the past. I don’t feel like this money from the price increases is being used to improve the customer experience. This last year (2022) has really left a bitter taste in my mouth and I hope Bath & Body Works makes an effort to correct some of the issues I have noticed over the past year or two.
I'm losing my cool with BBW. Now and the fact you can't even get a mist with the rewards anymore?? And now they jack up the nightlights and pedestals soo much you can't even get a decent one of those w/ the reward anymore, which actually makes the value of the reward less. I've been shopping more at alternate places now and rediscovered my new love for Walmart and Target scents/candles. haha.
BBW use to send out a 20% off with free shipping if you spent $50 if you complained about a shipping issue/damaged product. Now, it's only 20%. You are stuck with the increased shipping that is now $6.99 versus the old shipping cost of $4.99. I'm just done done done.
Bath and body works is really starting to out price their customers 😅 I am so happy I hauled big for SAS because the price increases are insane! I get 50 cents but multiple dollar increases is to much for me!
Actually got a Vanilla 3 wick at Walmart , nice container, smell is awesome and burning clean and long- $6.95!! A BBW 3 wick I have of frosted coconut snowflake? Is sooty and burning so black I want to trash it, luckily got on candle day- never buy full price BBW👍🏻
Bath and Body Works is pricing themselves out of the market. I did my first Goose Creek order. Prices are great, but wrinkled labels on a few candles, and uncentered wicks. They weren't gifts, so I am ok. Love the Scooby Doo and b/w stripe and polka dot designs/scents. Kringle, always perfect, and when they have a sale...wow, just gorgeous candles. Also, Homeworx, always spot on. Yankee when on sale. Unless it is a really special scent and sale, I am over the price increase at Bath and Body Works. $10 off is just dumb lol. Thanks for your great videos, as always. Appreciate your enthusiasm and reality check. This is the first year I didn't even buy a candle at Candle Day, too many repackages.
I loved BBW for a long time, but the cost increases and the decreased or hit or miss quality of their products is making me question ANY future purchases. What has kept me on this long was their AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE and a few powerhouse scents. I feel ripped off when I end up purchasing a mist that's mostly alcohol or a candle that you can't smell. It surely does not make sense to try anything new/unknown. Not sure how much I like GCs scents but they are making more cents to me more than BBW.
Enough is enough! As long as we keep buying they’re going to keep raising prices. What they’re trying to do is get their projected selling price through sales; they know damn well we’re not going to pay full price. So sale prices like $10 off is still pushing 20 for a candle. Body care is way too expensive especially with their inconsistencies and hit and misses.

Hold on to your BBW lids and use them on the Aldi candies. It makes them feel identical to BBW for a lot less. Then you can toss the lid that comes with the Aldi candle that fits awkward.
Yes, it will make me buy less BBW candles. I smelled the Among the Clouds 3-wick in store and I could not detect a scent. As much as I want to buy that candle because of the packaging, I won’t buy an unscented candle that is advertised as scented. I’m waiting on burn reviews.

I also didn’t find the new items to be special enough for the price point. The packaging is stunning but the scents aren’t wow enough for the price point. The faceted is $18.95 like huh 👀 and these new ones don’t even have any lasting power
SAS,mini's sales,bodycare day events,candle day and 5.95 sales and pocketbacs at 1.95 are my only option...with food prices skyrocketing-theres no way with BBW current price increases...I'll stash money on a gift card monthly and save for sale events.
I feel like it's not entirely the prices going up but the quality of the products & how it's the same scents over & over. I think I'm good til summer SAS at least I have a bunch to use up haha
So glad I was able to get 3 At the Beach moisturizing body washes at SAS for 75% off…it’s my favorite scent and form of body soap! Will NOT be paying full price at BBW for anything at this point 😮

I've been purchasing my candles, soap and body care from BBW almost exclusively the last few years. I think I'm going to look for better deals elsewhere and check out smaller brands this year. I don't think the prices are worth what you get.
This next year I am going to have to be a lot more discerning about my purchases. Buying one instead of the whole set of bodycare. No doubles of candles. Only scents I love.

Yeah, I am loving my Goose Creek, and Kringle candles, so worth it.
They're doing this BECAUSE THEY CAN. There will always be some people who will pay full price or a ridiculously high "sale" price for these non-necessities, so they are seeing how much they can squeeze out of us. They are also doing this because they know certain consumers will only shop 50%/75% off, (SAS, B2G2) so they are increasing the base price so they end up with more money at the end of the day.
The only way it will slow down/stop is if customers stop buying. If this happens maybe they will reconsider, but I doubt prices will go down - they will just stop increasing the price of everything so quickly. I haven't witnessed much slowing down yet, based on being in the store recently seeing people not take advantage of the "sale" to get the extra item (B3G1 where they were just like "nah, I don't need the 4th item"), and also based on this haul alone, where you didn't notice the price until after you already bought these items (which many people do so no offense meant - at least you are able to monetize your reviews to make money back!).
ETA: also these prices are not a "supply issue" or inflation related. They are seeing record PROFITS, which means their COGS didn't increase, the profit margin did, so they are still selling the same crappy stuff at 10-20% price increase.
