Man I watch this video and I get so jealous. I recently moved here from Utah and am going to school in Davie. I go to this pier like about every other week and never have much success. One night in february I went home with 2 keeper mangroves but that was it. I have tried all different types of bait as well. Do you have any tips on exploring new inshore spots for mangrove snapper? More specifically around here by the dania beach area? You seem to know all different types of spots, and me being new here I just dont know wehre to start. Thanks in advance!
Hey awesome man... I see you having fun catching good amount of Mangos...i love those northern piers. I was expecting you catching Margates, Bluerunner, or Pompanos which are more common in the north Atlantic area. But hell yeah ill take those! Oh it seems they lifted the bridge restrictions...finally!
@@FishFactsTV yeah can't wait till any of those piers are 24 hours again...i invested on a small generator with outdoor lighting...and man it's so comfortable to fish all night that way. Did that plenty of times and it's like you're camping on the pier. So much fun especially when there's less people there.
It all depends on current, water clarity and depth. Here it was shallow, not much current and clear. In that case I used a small yellowtail jig with no weight. If it there’s a lot I’ll used an 8th or quarter oz sinker with 2-3 feel of 20 lb leader
Hey man. I'm looking to get more into saltwater fishing. What kind of line do you have on there and what would the advantage be of having braid over mono for this type of fishing?
I really like braid for everything, but especially when targeting snapper. There are usually so many small nibbles before the bite, and the sensitivity of braid is crucial In my opinion.
@@FishFactsTV Thanks. Do you have a brand and strength preference? Would you change anything if you were targeting slightly larger fish like snook or jacks instead of snappers?
@@TheFishingNomad I have always been a free power pro guy, but lately I have been using some yozuri brand I got on sale at bass pro and I really like it. For jacks 100% braid. I think with snook there’s an argument to be made that mono is better if you are fishing heavy cover. I just use a three foot heavy mono leader. Jacks rarely try to cut you off so it doesn’t matter as much

Great vid. Definitely will watch the whole series, as you're doing the scouting for us. Tight lines!!
Many Thanks! Trying to make it out again friday AM

I’ve had good luck at the dania pier but the past month or so has been really slow. Only needlefish and filefish biting. Have you gone back recently?
Yeah I saw the same thing. We got one tiny mutton but that was it. ThT was august so it’s probably too cold now.

Would have liked a tutorial,,bait, line / leader size, your way to rig instead of just pulling them up which you obviously had no problem doing
I have lots of videos where I get more into the nitty gritty.
You makes it look so easy. Why do you throw them back. You can"t eat them. I wish I was living in FL
U have to throw back the small ones
Mangroves have to be 10" to keep. They are good to eat. I've seen Fish & Wildlife officers on that pier a couple of times.
Mangos...when they bite, they BITE
Can you save me some :D in your next fishing
