This stuff is infinitely fascinating. The myriad of stuff Capcom have cut blows my mind. I can still remember all the 1.5 images back in 97. I'd love to see some cut enemies be involved in upcoming games. Highly unlikely. Still...
Cut content happens all the time, Capcom just let's it leak more often for example look at their cut games such as Maverick Hunter (the first person mega man x reboot thing that was canceled)
Played part of it The Man spider the Gorillas they had it like 75% done than trashed it i was hoping add them parts to remake 2 and 3 as well as well as the Outbreaks 2 and 3 RE remakes even 8 was a little dis appointing. Anyone notice Ethan W has Umbrella lvl 9 clearance In resident evil Archives lol.
@@joshpl5451 You do realize that 1.5 is not a full polished game right? It’s a beta version of RE2 not a full game
@@joshpl5451 dude imagine if they included the goriilas in re2... and they fought the tyrant...soryy i have a large imagination😓
I feel like they missed the brian irons story too much in the remake, the creepy sicko vibe wasn't there and I don't recall seeing anything about him hunting down surviving cops etc. just some of the characters don't match previous editions, like brad vickers seems to be handling things well in the remake (being useful and helping others) where as in older versions hes uncertain of things and on the brink of flipping out (only out for himself).
Exactly
yeah honestly irons s death didn't feel satisfying
Stick with the original.
Hell, the squad didn't nickname him "Chicken-Heart" for nothin'... Anyone remember how ALPHA got abandoned to begin with?
they even removed the journals of his secretary. Not only did those give you clues on some of the puzzles but also kinda got you thinking "Yeah I don't think Chief Irons is trustworthy". Also removing the subplot of the mayor's daughter also removed that too.
There's something that still bothers me, if Raccon City was under Martial Law when the outbreak started, and the whole city is in a lockdown situation where nobody goes in or out, how the hell both Leon, Claire and the truck driver could pass god knows how many checkpoints or military roadblocks to the city? hell, even in the news stated that the city was under a lockdown, and both Leon and Claire didn't heared nothing of this?
Apparently the roadblocks were taken down sometime after the first week or so, along with Claire and Leon not hearing any details about the city outbreak specifically; Umbrella and the US Government hid as much information as possible regarding the biohazard, fearing that any info could be linked back to them.
According to the SD Perry novels, which aren't really canon but are close enough, Irons had purposefully tried to prevent any outside communications (pre remakes Raccoon city was small enough that this was feasible) and Leon and Claire just managed to slip in right before the state government realized what was happening and started putting up a cordon.
Story goes the barracades failed or were abandoned. I thought they were just retconned as later games were introduced.
In the original storyline the military arrive after Leon gets there, the road blocks out of the city then go up on the 29th. Leon escapes through the Umbrella train tunnel on the 30th bypassing the blocks. A few days later on Oct 1 they decided to nuke the city just as Jill escapes. We know Irons cut all the communication with the outside but I've always assumed people were still driving into the city like Leon did and getting killed which is how outside authorities knew what was happening.
In the OG canon Leon was at a hotel that didn't have a TV and was on transfer road to Raccoon the blockcade wasn't set up by Leon arrival despite him getting there day 7 of the outbreak
I really wish they would have kept the lava pods. I wanted to see Ada unload a clip into Mr X's face in great detail!
They kind of did it with Jill and Nemesis in RE3 remake, they just mix and take stuff from the whole series and call them reimaginings 🙄
You mean the smelter? It was some type of small foundry used for something
Yeah, I forgot the exact term for a minute. That's been happening a bit lately, been bugging me.
I wish there was more time on the streets. When I first played I was thinking "Where is the police station? It could be anywhere and there are so many zombies. Oh, there it is. Literally around the corner from the start.".
This was a big let-down for me, too. Especially once I realised the gas station replaced the majority of the streets section. And the inclusion of the streets section between the RPD and the orphanage was terribly lazy.
@@arturdabrowski3976How on earth can it be regarded as 'lazy' if they remade it?
@@mrpussinboots4252 the street section between the RPD and the orphanage is lazy and uninspired as it's just an empty corridor space to pass through. You don't even get to revisit the area or do anything interesting there.
@@arturdabrowski3976 You don't revisit nor do anything interesting in the original either. It's running in a straight line until you reach the station :S
It isn't empty, it has numerous enemies and fills the gap between the RPD and sewers. My only gripe is the lack of corpses outside of Kendos gunshop where several schrimishes would have occured prior to Leon's/claires arrival.
@@mrpussinboots4252 my point is that placing this section mid-game after the puzzle- and enemy-ridden RPD creates a jarring experience. I would have preferred it if the route from the car crash scene in the beginning was longer and included this section, as it would feel less empty by contrast with the RPD.
In the original, the only "pass through once" section is the beginning, while offering an interim sewers section before the lab where you can also solve a few puzzles. The pacing in the OG was therefore a lot better. In the remake, the game takes a tumble after you leave the RPD and the fall continues until the end of the game.
Re3 is a demake... A shocking poor one.
Yeah. All my love for the series isn't enough to stop me from hating that piece of shit
@@albertdio420 true. Which is why i will never buy an RE game again unless Crapcom get their shit together.
@@hasangenc2922 Sure dude…
@@sonicmoore6196 Won't buy another RE game ever again, Capcom doesn't deserve it
Its fine for what it was
You're the first youtuber I have seen acknowledge how much was also cut out of the RE2 remake or changed unnecessarily. Thank you for that, I thought I was going to go insane.
If you do not mind the video’s monstrous length, Ruby of Blue did the most detailed and insightful analysis I have seen on the differences between RE2 Original and RE2 Remake: “Resident Evil 2: Wonderful Game, Wasted Remake”.
@@markcobuzzi826 I'll have a look at that.
I am mainly just amazed at the amount of unwarranted praise the RE2make gets. For example they couldn't even get the side Birkin gets shot in correct, and in getting it wrong it then fails to show what the G-virus does properly like it did in the original (which was half the point of the cutscene).
@@jimmydesouza4375
While I did not agree with all of Ruby of Blue's opinions, I thought he did a great job at articulating each of his points overall. As stated earlier, I highly recommend it, notwithstanding its long length.
Speaking of RE2 Remake's praise, I just told someone else that it feels like Capcom hired Professor Calamitous from Jimmy Neutron, who was brilliant but literally could not finish anything. For me, parts like these felt unfinished in RE2 Remake:
1.) The alternate scenarios for the A/B campaigns.
2.) The enemy variety.
3.) The new set of soundtracks.
4.) The Umbrella laboratory.
5.) Claire's classic costume.
@@markcobuzzi826 My biggest problem with it wasn't that it was unfinished as much as it didn't seem like the devs understood most of the original. For example in the original when Ada is shot by Annette they had Leon grab her with his injured arm as a visual way to explain why he couldn't pull her up. But then in the remake they have him grab her with his good arm for no good reason.
@@jimmydesouza4375
I see what you mean. I was just stating the main problem that I myself had with the remake.
"Why cut it???" I swear I seriously ask myself this any time I play either of these games re 2 and 3 remake. Why cut anything.. Why not just do what the fuck you did the first time with re1 and make these games the best versions of themselves and not just graphic updates on kinda the same games we grew up loving.. idk. Love the remakes could have just been so much more.. they were probably just so stoked to release it and let them both come out too soon and not finished truly.
Usually, time constraints and a limited budget
@@liamf2741 Exactlyyyy time constraints, budget, and engine limitations! i get why people want more but it annoys me how ScorPN goes "WHY CUT IT" as if the "concept" means it works 100%.
So, uh, who's fault is it exactly if there's budget constraints for a flagship franchise? Capcom. Who's fault is it if there's time constraints? Capcom. And what engine limitations of the REengine are you referring to since obviously you're referencing a specific limitation that prevented the cut content from being added, right? @@harutothefriendlyodst7639
The lack of proper scenarios was the biggest let down for me. The zapping system in the original was cool but it wasn't quite as seamless as it could have been, and they had an opportunity to rectify that in the remake, which they definitely didn't do.
For everything else cut from the game, this usually comes down to a couple of problems with development. The first is what's known as scope creep, where the over-addition of features or content to a project makes it so overwhelming and complicated that either the project takes longer to complete, doesn't get completed at all, or is full of problems. Another problem is not wanting to oversaturate the game with content that they could spread out to subsequent games. RE3make was lacking in content, but that game was created in parallel to RE2. I think RE3make could have been a much better game if Capcom had started on it after RE2 had been finished, so that cut content could have been added into that game instead.
Ultimately any question you make during the video about why something was cut from the game boils down to time and by extension, money. Concept artists aren't bound by money, so they can go nuts on designs. Think of it like a concept car. Concept artists model something that looks ultra futuristic with tons of cutting edge technology for a given upcoming model, but by the time the engineers who are in charge of actually building the car, and the accountants who allocate funds get their hands on it, the production design is usually underwhelming.
Wasn't RE3R meant to be DLC material for RE2? They use a lot of the same assets, the game itself was very short and Resistance always felt like more of a bolt-on than an actual part of the game.
@@Capt.DanInJapan I don't think it was ever meant to be DLC. The asset use is probably a product of the game being made alongside RE2. Both games takes place in the same location and around same time anyway, so I never understood the negativity surrounding sharing of assets between both games, why would they be different? It's hardly the worst part of the game, let's be honest.
@@StuTubed Never said it was the worst thing about the game, my complaints with RE3 were mainly about the length of the game, Nemesis' redesigns and the removal of the branched story options. The flash points where players had to make a choice that could really impact on how the story progressed and ended. It is more that the reused assets could give an excuse to use the stuff that didn't make it into RE2.
@@Capt.DanInJapan Sorry, didn't mean to imply that was your view, just I'd seen a lot of others complain about that fact and I never understood the anger behind it. I agree with most of all those points, with the exception of the Nemesis redesign. I think he looks more terrifying than he did before, but then he always gave off a comic book villain vibe with me anyway. I just wish he kept his humanoid form for a lot longer, he became 4-legged way too early, and his mechanics were horribly under developed in general.
@@StuTubed Not a problem. This isn't world-defining politics we're discussing, it's a computer game we both seem to enjoy and wish could have been better.
As with all matters of taste, opinions on Nemesis' design is subjective. I just kinda prefer the more restrained approach in the original.
The sadness of what could have been
I was still bummed out that no spiders were included in the game.
Yeah but no gas station shop is that big, the size they ended up with made way more sense.
Having each camera angle option would’ve been fun. Would’ve allowed people liking all game types to have fun.

you haven't been to Bucee's I see.
By that logic we shouldn't have Museum turned police station right you see buddy there's this thing with horror you can't scare people with realism.
@@Doralga How practical would it be to have an police department with an museum architect?

I'd love to see a "Director's Cut" version of 2 and 3 integrated into one game: You play different characters at different points, such as Jill first, then Claire and Leon, and then back to Jill (not counting the minor characters like Carlos, Sherry, HUNK, Ada, and the Ghost Survivors, et cetera).
Continuity between the two would mean extra items and such as mini-bridges.
Cut content like the Clock Tower, the enemies and scenes listed here? All implemented.
I'd pay for it.
This idea sucks I can't lie. Feels way too disjointed and all over the place
A real Director's Cut would let you play all 3 scenarios like in RE2 (you play them separated, "canon" order or not), add the costumes from survivors, add the cut content (that could fit in obviously), some easter eggs and references to cut or non-canon content if not outright adding them too, mercenaries, more Ghost survivors like Marvin, Sherry's mother and others, a one life mode where if you die, you will have to kill your first character with the second
Name it Resident Evil: Raccon City
stop dreaming
I loved re2 remake, it was a 9/10 but could easily have been a 10/10 with a bit more content and better B scenario
Yes you red my mind
Amen
Game sucked cock.
B scenarios could not only have been better.
The way campaigns are handled now is ABSOLUTELY dysfunctional for this game for obvious reasons.
BOTH characters runs are indispensable for the franchise.
Therefore BOTH are meant to be canon.
But that's simply impossible as they're conflicting now and so unable to exist in parallel.
@@pretenderxxx2385 your comment proves they got extremely lazy. We went from a bright police station with amazing soundtrack with the feel of no hope and loneliness to a remake with a extremely dark police station with a flashlight and no actual soundtrack. No Scenario also really kled this game.

Fun fact, if you put on no clipping mode there's actually a lot of rendered streets and even an alternative route to the rpd..
Its so sad seeing so much being cut. Honestly id much rather play the original over the remake.

The original had cut content as well. Maybe your not aware of how game development works, but not everything from the development stage makes it to the final product. This game has basically every area from the original minus like one minor location near the labs. Everything else is practically the same.
Resident Evil 2 Remake was great, but it felt incomplete. It left me wanting more. This video shows why. It was a HUGE mistake to cut most of this stuff.

The RE3make is going to be an hour long, so much cut content in that dumpster fire of a game.
Can you find cut content for RE3 remake as well, will be very much appreciated,
Keep telling everyone my biggest gripe in this game other then soundtrack itself is scenarios itself. Scenarios wasn't huged changed of story like in original Re2. For example Claire A as to help infected Sherry while in Claire B, Sherry never gets infected. Also too you leave certain items in scenario A to make scenario B easier. Hell in Scenario A you could have alligator escaped your character and you scenario B as dealt with it instead. Sadly seem like Re2 Remake was kinda rush on B scenario. Best you get is new handgun with special bullets you got find and character comes the back of the buliding instead in front. That and fighting final G Birkin which was not that special or impact like original. If they would've took little bit more time and release a with some these concepts.. game would been more interesting.
As a matter of fact scenarios are not working AT ALL in the remake.
Both, Leons and Claire's games are supposed to take place according to the franchise.
But that's simply impossible as they're now treated as alternate timelines of which only ONE can logically happen because they're conflicting.
How could they only implement such an obviously inappropriate campaign structure??
What a fucking shame.
@@pretenderxxx2385 Leon and claire barely interacting is also a huge issue for me, communication via radio was vital in the original...here they met twice at the beginning..then once at the end, leon says diddly squat on chris either to claire. Soundtrack was barely there as well. I know re had silent areas but they were rare.
They barely talked on the radio in the original. Them splitting up was pretty dumb too.

So much cut content for 2 and 3. The more I learn about it, the more I realize how little was actually put into these remakes in terms of thoughts for replay value.
These Remakes are lesser sons of greater sires...
Yeah, crazy how much wasted potential, especially on RE3, which was just a pile of shit.
I blame that piece of shit known as Resistance it probably hindered the devs to make the remake they wanted without also having the obligation of getting the Multiplayer market on board, they lost focus slightly

Honestly both remakes RE2 and RE3 felt lazy. Too much cut content and lack of potential ideas. RE1 Remake got it right.
It could have been a lot worse. Look at RE3.
They should have added more to B scenarios and also plant 43 boss fight would have been cool orphanage enemies also would have been nice addition

RE2make...Big hype, big disappointment.
A lot of this is why the original is still far superior for me. Remake 2 is half a game and just lacks the heart of the original. I still believe that REmake 2 should have been its own title instead of a remake focusing on other survivors of the outbreak or even the standalone Hunk game everyone is still waiting for.
It's not a remake.
@@giovannigiovanni.7220 it's a remake.
It's why people diss it as a Reimagining this game didn't even include the damn music yes they included the classic soundtrack but when people in 97 are working harder then people in 2017 is seriously telling of modern game design
Go play it then its not going anywhere. Remakes arent meant to be shot for shot. Because that would be pointless if they did that.
@@Doralga its a stylistic choice for the music.
And this isn't nearly as blasphemous as what they did to RE3.
One thing I will say, I'm really surprised but happy the RPD range from Re1.5 made it into the REmake. I was not expecting that; seeing *more* things from that build of the game (besides the Elza costume for Claire) would've been interesting.
Starting off in a renovated, more modern RPD precinct like we saw in that game and *then* moving into the older art museum portion, fighting the cut enemies like the gorillas (which do exist in the canon, sort of, already), exploring more of the city streets (I do appreciate that the A Scenario streets bits are split up with Leon and Claire when the exit the Precinct); hell, making Elza a minor supporting character would've been cool in and of itself.
I still enjoy Re2R, it's still what restored my faith in Capcom after Re7, but it could've been so much more.
Same here. There's also the shutters, the way Leon holds his pistol and damage on the characters from 1.5.
The museum portion idea sounds alluring. It would have worked undoubtedly.

Im guessing it's just insanely expensive to make assets and locations for the RE engine, so they just couldn't make a lot of stuff and had to cut the scope.
It is a shame that there was a lot of cut content from this game, it was still a fun game but it really feels like there were missed opportunities that could have been implemented if they had more time to properly iron out the game. I believe that the real challenge was keeping to strict deadlines holding over the developers by the higher ups so they had to cut corners wherever they could to keep the game on time and on budget lest they face the wrath of their executives.
They had 4 years and they didn't even manage to create 2 different and therefore complementing campaigns which would have been absolutely indispensable for this game.
In comparison, anything else was secondary.
I loved playing the re2 remake, but I still recommend playing the original RE2 and RE3.
How? It is not on Xbox Series X or PS5.
@@lilith1647 I know. That stinks. I'm sure you can play them on Steam still. If not, you'll have to get an older console to play them.

After all those, we never got the remake we wanted exactly. Not even close to RE1 remake.
@Emo Gamer R Yeah. It’s not a bad game. So It’s just alright. I feel the same with RE0, mainly because the plot felt kinda funky. Both could use some slight fixing personally.
@Emo Gamer R It’s missing of course the B scenarios and enemies from the old games. But most importantly, it is also missing the charm that the OG has. I’m not a fan of the dialogue when they’re constantly swearing, it’s not charming to me and it stains their character traits. And finally, I hate that they sorta altared their personality clearly. Leon acts wimpy and Claire acts like a tough brat.
@Emo Gamer R Its always about updating for the modern audience of course. Makes me sick thinking about how things work now.

I wish they did more with Chief Irons and the orphanage. His back story is terrifying.
As someone that suffers from a phobia of moths, I would have loved to see the giant moth enemies and giant spiders to boot, in fact biohazard game had far too few enemies and B.O.W for us to kill
When I played the game my first impression was that it was unfinished, it felt as though it needed 6 months of extra development. B missions were essentially non existent and something was missing overall that I couldn't quite put my finger on. I think it was the immersion.
From what I've read, they originally planned to have only one campaign per character but fan feedback made them change their minds at the last minute. As for the lack of immersion, I'd say the next to no communication and meeting up between Leon and Claire throughout the game contributed to that.
@@daveweaver3886Why would Leon and Claire communicating increase immersion? 😂😂
'something was missing overall that I couldn't quite put my finger on' whole lot of nothing.
What shocks me the most is how little they got done in four years.
And how re3make managed to get Even less in almost the same time.
If they wanted people to sympathise with them as to why the game is so changed and short on "The situation which was far beyond their control" They should have made a special "documentary" of the project.
You'd be suprised how many fans are suckers For documentaries like that.
To, atleast explain what the hell they had been doing For four years.
The only pathetic excuse i could find with the development is issues with the engine, which makes me wonder... Why is the engine a joke? In order to put a texture in the game they would have to scan it first and that is a really dumb idea, as it would take too much time, storage and money(Atleast the optimization is good).
I Will give some credit where it is due. The gameplay is longer than the original(the original's Gameplay time is about twenty five minutes, if you could skip doors and all cutscenes), however... For 2019, and for a game that initially cost 60 euroes, it is still short(Yes, I know the original cost 60 euroes at its launch, the trouble is it was a different economy and a smaller gaming market).
I thought I was the only one who thought this. Either they were in development hell or they weren't actually working on it 100% of the time.
What disappointed me the most was how much was cut and how much could of been added. RE3 was the worst and I wished I never bought it for full price. But 2 I loved it and still play it, well when I have my computer set up in bed. At the moment it’s not set up. But it always irked me about what else I could’ve been doing in certain areas. The missing spiders and crows sucked, no good reason to leave those out. The gator also sucked, you just run from side to side, boring.
The plants that are walking around, that take from memory an enormous amount of damage to put down, which I hated. I actually had a vampire dream of one biting me, it’s too bad I don’t remember the dream itself. I wrote it down that’s how I know it happened lol. I write every vampire dream down, since their so rare and yeah cause I love them haha. Don’t want to forget them obviously.
Wait a moment, going over my memory of the playthrough of 2 I did when I got a lengthy flu years ago. Wasn’t there also giant moths? that was a shame to leave out too. Birkins older forms were also cooler, the 3rd form I think was amazing looking, but in this boring. Yeah really thinking about it, goodness me what a waste.
Well this is interesting I wished those elements concepts enemies moments locations and ideas and scenes should be included in final version this would make more interesting terrifying scary exciting challenging and awesome
Yeaaaa.... Initially the game was a good experience on my first runs... But it was infinately dissapointing to find out that scenario B was just the same... I kind of was mad to be honest with you but finished the run... And over mulling over it for a year or two, the game cut waaaaaaay too many corners and really tried to condense the experience wwaaayyy too much... I really think they saw $$$ and wanted to just cash in early instead of trying their best to deliver a quality REMAKE like RE1 Remake.... The city should of been longer, the station should of had more rooms, the Arkley Cable Station should of been added just like RE1 Remake added more to the Cabin... They just really cut corners and I have to agree with you Score - I will never ever play this again because it was so short and I am always left with wanting/ wondering if there was more we could of had... (unless for ppl's sexy costums of Claire/ Ada lol) And it was good this game was a sucess at the time, but it really didn't add/ show to Capcom how to hanlde the RE3 Remake - RE8... Those being really short and watered down experiences as well.... It didn't help future installments because it showed Capcom RE that they could get away with doing less and getting more $$$ from us... RE4 on the horizon was a bad move... They really should leave it alone beacuse its good as is - They really should of remade Code Veronica - much much much more interesting story and has sooo much they can do with it.... But whatever we say right lol - we're just a bunch of cry babies to them lol
And yes please. RE2 and RE3 DIRECTOR'S CUT would be MUCH welcomed! But I guess it won't come true.
Perhaps someday.
If I had to hazard a guess about the orphanage, I'm thinking seeing cages in an orphanage might have drawn some controversy.
This game really upset me because there was so much they could've added or fixed but it feels like they took a shortcut especially with the stories. Like I wanted to fight the alligator with Claire and vice versa. Mr. X's design felt lazy too and the concept for the inventory looked so badass
To be honest I loved Mr X’s design, I had so much fun trolling him and he scared me so many times. Fond memories, I’d still be playing around with him, if I could sit down, but my computer is now in storage. I can play in bed, but at the moment the distance to my monitor is too far and makes me really tired having to squint to see small details. I’m looking at buying an over bed table in the future for the monitor. I have no idea how that’ll go honestly, but for other games it’s a necessity and will just have to give it a go.
The condemned enemies look like that sleep deprivation experiment person
"why cut it" because it was never made in the first place. Concept art is just that and while it's a shame we didn't get all this cool stuff that's just what happens when you run out of time.
I'm not going to lie I really hope one of these days we get a director's cut for the remix and we'll get to see what could have been but until then I guess all we can do is just see what they could do next because of what I've been hearing apparently for the Resident Evil 4 remake is they want clear to be in the game which I think it would be interesting to see Resident Evil 4 turn into a different game where it's not just you taking care of the president's daughter but having all these other characters involved that might make the game changed a lot more better and apparently they want to make the game a lot more longer but let's just hope it's for better and not for Worse
You mean Claire you called her clear and i see what there doing its too appease most of us for not getting a code Veronica remake i just hope they learned their lesson and not cut content for the sake of ReaLiSm cuz that RE3make was terrible
In RE4 Ramake they should make Ashley a combatent NPC, much like Alyx in the Half Life 2. Usefull, with a set of skills and programmed in such way she does not became a nuisance;
This game doesn't need a directors cut. It is fine as it is. RE3 remake needs a directors cut because they actually cut important locations from the original.
It's great to hear from you buddy. Always LOVE your content. This video is no different. Thank you for a look into the cut stuff. I NEVER would find the information you show us on my own. 🤝🤙
Resident Evil 2 remake could have been the best horror game ever made, but sadly you can tell it was unfinished
- A/B scenarios - the biggest letdown and missed potential
- cut areas like marshalling yard and unrealistically looking lab, instead of the factory look from the original. Not to mention both characters visit the SAME areas of the lab.
- changed personalities
- Cut soundtrack aswell
Maybe the reason they cut out zombie spiders in Resident Evil 2 Remake was because bunch of people, who worked for Capcom, have Arachnophobia, 'cause that would be too realistic for them to be in the remake version.
Not a remake.
That sounds like a lame excuse tbh. I mean, the game is supposed to look scary.
@@hasangenc2922 It is it's just you kid
No because apparently we need realism and hand holding in our games. 😒
The RE2 remake was way better then the RE3 remake.
Agreed
@@lilith1647 I wasn't born in the 90's so I was expecting to see scenes from the original. But they cut out half the game. Then there was the gross Drain demos scene, was that cutscene really necessary? 🤢 Also why was the cursing so forced.
A giant plant tentacle with a mouth.😱
Can anybody else here say Gravemind?🤔
Great way to shut these fake fans up with a clear fact and at the same time, prevented them from using their most ignorant excuse as a weapon. These peoples are the exact reason we got a pathetic piece of a trashfire that is RE3 Remake in the first place.
"iTs NoT a ReMaKe"... yeah, I hate when they keep saying that too
From what I heard RE2&3make were supposed to be shipped as 1 package with the stories being intertwined and crossing over but ultimately this got scrapped because of Fabiano having a different envisioning of the game thus resulting in extra drama for 3make regarding game direction.
Bruh re 3 remake was trash
Capcom cutting really good content from the Resident Evil 2 remake:
We do it!
Us: But it was really good cut content.
Capcom: WE DO IT!
No gonna talk about the cut helicopter crashing scene in the original. Remake you just hear it crash...lame.
Damn this is sad to watch... What could've been. And that's all we'll ever say, same thing with the upcoming re4 remaking... Man what COULD'VE been.
Love this game the 1st two REmakes are my all time favorites
The thing i hated most with RE2 remake was the NEST lab. It was so boring and soulless, looked like spaceship. Why didn't they design it after how the original lab was?
I like the NEST lab design :)
It's so hypocritical from the original RE2 team when they said the 1.5 police station was too modern and wasn't scary. Hell, even the 1.5 lab was bigger, scarier and looked liked it belonged in 1998. The Nest is simply lazy, boring and too modernized for 1998.
I always felt they made these more for speed runners than for those who like to explore, investigate and search each areas with a fine comb. They did lose the soul of the original in their efforts to remake it. They could’ve added so many new elements
I loved the remake but it is a shame they didn't add a bit more and also a shame they cut out some parts
-We only got to play as Ada an Sherry once instead of twice and I wish their sections were a bit longer
-They didn't add in Extreme Battle mode, that would of added lots of replay value
-Claire didn't even get to deal with giant Alligator even though she does in the Concept art lol
- They could of done DLC chapter of Ada escaping Raccoon City like she did in Umbrella Chronicles
But those sections are easily the least fun for me. Especially in the OG one.
They could of done better with the cut parts of the game
Arachnophobes, the lot of them, these new developers :P
05:02 - No offense but this face/image has been on the Internet for years.
I'm not sure the original source is the Resident Evil to remake concept art...
It's the Russian Sleep Experiment Creepy Pasta picture thingy just edited/painted.
Probably to fool people.
I think the condemned was scrapped because when you think about it, the line that people won't cross is giving players the ability to kill children. Even though they are zombies, it is something many people aren't comfortable with doing.
Random question but what do you think of the Left4Dead series?
7:07 too long? Too long????? Thats a good thing though. The cardinal rule of making a videogame is "the longer, the better." More stuff to do and more fun. I dont get it thats just silly. And yea the beginning of the b scenario really dissapointed me
The answer to your "why" questions is all the same- they had their budget cut because Capcom doesn't care of an RE game gets finished these days- they know it will sell regardless.
There are many things I wanted:
Brian Irons: Like Irons is a monster, not just an asks hole who barely has a character.
More Claire and Leon Scenes: They didn’t have any scene from RPD until the end, which is odd since, you know, they should care about what’s going on and they should have walkie talkies (maybe at the gate part?).
Marvin: I wish maybe they would have had him biten after Leon/ Claire meets up in scenario B; maybe he went outside to help Brad and that’s when he is bitten and he comes back in as Leon gets there.
Sherry: I felt they could have gave her a better part, maybe she Is alone when we first meet her and when Claire and William first fight, we have a part where she has to push a button to get Willam to away from William or something. And maybe make Irons and her have a more scary part (I mean Irons is a rapist).
This one is for 3
Brad: He should have gotten infected by a zombie, but he is still alive, until Nemesis comes and does his thing like in the original, but Brad isn’t dead, just very infected (like when Jill gets infected by those gig things in the power plant). So when he meets Marvin, he’s turning and tries to not bite him, but looses control and bite Marvin. That ways Brad looks like a hero and it doesn’t betray the original.
definitely needed more brian irons scenes, like he knew way more about what umbrella was doing and being bribed to do so... it seemed odd that he knew about the locket... i woulda figured he knew sherry was important but not her locket. (also it made more sense that the locket HAD the gvirus sample in, not just the key since it would explain why Mr X was chasing them... although leon being chased wouldnt make sense, unless he WAS programmed to kill any survivors as well but which objective took priority?
considering how open the RPD is, its almost impossible that leon and claire would not bump into each other... but i suppose thats where reality comes in, how are you going to explain an AI leon rescuing you from zombie horde if youre stuck in a room? (unless it was scripted ofcourse)...
i know leon wouldnt have a spare radio on him but that doesnt mean he couldnt grab one earlier on the off chance he found claire again (there was CCTV showing her waiting at the gate... Ooh, better grab her a radio too) they pretty much cut the game in half since both plots are near identical (at least A and B had different paths... even if 1 is canon over the other, it was fun 'what if?')
marvin was attacked before Leon and claire came to raccoon city. If he got bitten after claire and leon arrived, then the infection would have taken longer to take effect and not had claire or leon worried. unless you made the infection out to be quicker for some... or maybe he get so weak that he cannot fight off the zombies and eventually is torn apart, leon/claire 'saves' him and then HE gets up too... (but i suppose that would defeat the fear factor... unless you make it like a jumpscare deal like, 'he's torn apart and he STILL moves...' (if jill can be unconscious for like a day or 2... it wouldnt be too far fetched that marvin could also be a slow progresser for infection)
sure him getting bitten by brad was like a lesson learned deal that had impact for leon or claire... but it didnt have to be brad... it wasnt even brad in the OG... it was just some zombie during the outbreak files since he evacuated people before staying behind in the RPD.
RE3 was rushed though so it was odd that marvin was unconscious in the room despite there being multiple zombies that would be feasting on him. (which are just wandering... heck, the door was wide open too)
Jill should have been the one to enter the RPD.... hell, you could even make her a cameo in the outbreak files... she passes by because she needs to see the RPD locker for stocking up, and to 'coincidentally' hear from her colleague about some radio transmission... (they didnt have to completely rewrite, keeping some elements in would be better. Less is more)
although considering how tight the RPD was... idk how youd be able to battle the nemesis properly... well then again in the original you could run to another room if you wanted more space (or touch the shelf).. and if there are other officers in the station (which there would be during the first days of the outbreak)... how are you going to have nemesis and Jill alone and no other officer to help? no sane cop is going to listen to jill and say: 'dont split up! we all fight it. or we run'
although in outbreak files, desperate times? marvin did help a few survivors escape and supposedly he was alone in the RPD... and thats when jill entered and he passed out from the wound... so maybe Jill CAN still be alone in the station... or maybe Jill decides to stay behind to help (even though it was her time to escape)
honestly, they had... so much time to rewrite the history and lore of RE2, RE3 and the outbreak files... plenty of space to work with and they left their cards on the table in plain view... good luck rewriting stuff capcom, we'll point it out immediately.
as for Brad: he WAS bitten by a zombie in RE3 OG.. but it wasnt really too bad since he still made it to the station, probably early infected feeling but still had humanity... and it would make sense that he could not outrun nemesis being weakened.
if you still wanted him to bite marvin, then youd have to rewrite desperate times so that marvin never got bitten... but then why would he stay behind knowing he could still live? he stayed because he knew he would die so he wanted to help anyone who came in.
this whole things a mess and ive been rewriting my sentences for ages.... i give up.
edit: oh and that reminds me... Jill was on 'house arrest' just before the outbreak. so she couldnt really go to the station, except when the outbreak occured, and even then some random officer would pick up on that.
I really disliked the over the top nature of Irons. He was much creepier in the original where he was more subdued in the way he spoke. He was unnerving, but its not in your face like the remake is. The same for Nicholai in RE3 remake.
The whole Kendo & his daughter thing is also another zombie movie cliche that goes all the way back to Romero's Night of the Living Dead. The laziness in this game is astounding. Clearly all the effort went into showing off how impressive the graphics & RE Engine is.
@@filmbuff2777 100% agree! Capcom made a mess
@@filmbuff2777 facts.
It’s ashame that as these new consoles get stronger and the games Get more expensive the creators get lazier and lazier with half ass games with little content and only focus on graphics really. RE2 remake should’ve brought in a lot of these unused concepts and monsters and environments but instead they cut corners
As much as I love re2 remake I wish we got to see more of it.
Holy shit you are wrong about everything...it's impressive.
I absolutely loved RE2 remake but I wish they hadn't cut so much content.. I seem to think that with all the current RE's 😭
Originally i gave it a 10, now i give it an 8 just cuz of the content that they didnt put in it. Still a good game , but not as good as it could have been
According to rumors, the developers cut spiders because the producer had arachnophobia and was afraid of spiders. But these are just rumors, I don't know the exact reason why spiders were cut from the game.
Damn i would've loved to be able to play the game in the fixed angles like in the original, me and my friend wanted it SO bad.
the amount of good scrapped content and enemies is very frustrating to see, you'd think they could use it for RE3 remake but no, that game is even shorter and has less content than RE2 Remake, i liked it but it was still a very disappointing game
And i don't know why they decided to make Scenario B almost identical to scenario A, that was also disappointing because a 20 years old game did that feature better than the remake.
And don't get me wrong, i love the remake but it could've been so much more..
I gave up on Capcom a while ago. I just play resident evil because ima fan but the developers really lost their edge on how to make a true survival horror zombie game. I just wish they listen to fans and stop doing stuff they feel would make it better. We miss the originals. We miss the original soundtrack and areas.
I feel as if Capcom took advantage of the fan base because they wouldn't have done it if fans weren't doing it themselves and the high demand for it. That said, they should have respected the source material and made it for the fans and not change it to appeal to modern new age gamers. It makes business sense yes but again they only remade the game because it was in such high demand. They nailed the graphics and gameplay aspect but that's where it ends. They botched everything else that made the original so great and legendary.
About the Condemn enemy, I think it's because they want to avoid killing Sherry, or at least make Sherry death scene less violence, that they switch to Irons.
Sherry is also invincible when she follow Claire though the lab.
It's a reimagining they were just saying remake out of habit
Alot of stuff that would make the game "too hard" gets removed now a days, game makers want the weakest gamers to beat the game instead of making them get better
unfortunately all gaming companies nowadays are plagued by the evil called time constraint, in the past it didnt matter if a game had to come out in 7 years, they would do it
Also much more expensive to develop modern games.
Tbh I hope for remix/director cuts of both new remakes
RE3 remake deserved the most exploration.
That condemned enemy could have possibly been removed due to it looking too much like that creepypasta picture, like the one about the sleep experiments, it's almost like a direct copy in design in the face. It also just doesn't look like it would fit into the game, if anything they should have gone a more lisa trevor look with the enemy. Not too sad to see it go but if it got re-designed and reworked I would have liked to see what they came up with.
1:04 they literally ask "can we call it a remake" even they are unsure
Really glad we didnt get exploding wheel chair zombies, or some of that other weird stuff. It wouldnt have fit, and made it feel pretty differnet(more arcady). At least for the main story.
Too bad they totally messed that up with 3 remake though, downgrading everything, for a super linear, very short story.
The original RE3 was already short and linear tho, as much as the remake. All of the resident evil games are short (except for RE6 with length) and linear af.
@@Garybarry111 I dont think you understand what linear means. and yeah for a speed run thats different.
I was really excited about the RE2 Remake when it first came out but I wasn't disappointed with the game even though they cut out stuff I still enjoyed it and I still like replaying it from time to time. Same with RE3 Remake.
they didn't even cut that much... how this argument is still happening 3 years later is beyond me. RUclipsrs like this are just knitpicking the game to death at this point. The stuff "cut" from the intro of the OG? wasn't really cut at all, it was just moved to different points in the games timeline... at most the biggest issue was the slimmed down scenario B, which was unfortunate yes, but somewhat made up for by the fact that Claire and Leon both have completely separate story arcs with Sherry and Ada.
@@jslaughter95 Exactly. Some of these comments are just ridiculous because they complain about stuff that not even the original RE2 had. And a lot of stuff got cut from the original as well. Sure there are some missteps with the B scenarios and zapping, but those things are not core to the game. I'm much more glad that they took to time to work on the zombie AI and gore, as well the enormous improvement of Mr. X.
@@lukeprimo4672 Agreed! Though i will say if they given his AI to Nemesis in 3 as well as having Nemesis "set pieces" for the action portion, then Nemesis would have been absolutely perfect imo, a persistent terror through the Raccoon city streets
have these people ever just played a game and enjoyed it for what it is?
@Stellar Infinite yeah there is nothing wrong with that at all, but some of these comments are absurd.
rarely seen anybody who actually disliked this remake, your contempt shows a lot and you calling the game linear 80 times got very boring listening too 😭
awful narration
"thats what makes it not feeeel linearrrrrrr.....at all." bro has a hard time reading
You should check out the leaked plan for RE3R! It has so much cut content which was so disappointing. I think you have to download the file (it’s safe)
no no they can call it remake or redo or what ever u want call it thats is not a resident evil 2-3 .. and thats not how u remake games .. cutting and changing contents is a re imagining .. it will be remake only if they stayed faithful with the old contents and adding new extra things like what they did with RE 1 .. not changing and removing .. if they think its a remake that dosnt mean its really a remake .. they r Japanese they may not know what is remake exactly means correctly in english
I was gonna say the same thing. So what's the uploader's idea of a re-imagining then?
I didn’t like the remakes unfortunately. They felt like resident evil light to me. But that’s just me I’m glad a lot of people did.
