I've nothing against buying experience as long as they're not injury prone. We're currently paying Lawrence, Matondo and Davies big wages. They all spent most of last season and beyond injured. We've just released Roofe and Jack who were always injured. Buy experience over guys who never play any day.

Matondo is on £28,000 a week and has played less than 1200 minutes in each of the past two seasons. At least Tavernier, love or hate him has hardly missed a game in 9 years. Our issue is getting someone to take injury prone players on big wages. I just hope Clement doesn't lose patience if he doesn't get in the players he needs.

It's when we have shit defenders in the centre, is when Tav gets caught out more. I think Traore and an experienced midfielder like McLean and we have a team in an *acceptable* (not great but acceptable) state for this season. It still won't be enough but it's a healthy platform In regards to wages; if I was Nils Koppen, I'd be offering to pay for a portion of the wages for Lammers, Goldson, Lawrence and Cantwell if the upfront cash is good enough. Our wage structure, while misused and bloated, is still very strong and we could take the hit because we need the fees. 13.5k pw for Lammers for the next 2 or 3 years is better than 27k pw!

That level experience ain't winning us leagues, cups & able to really deal with Europe because it's been proven year on year. See buying good experience players that are still playing at their top level is always going to cost more money, with not much to be made when that player leaves. That's basically how players get experience is by age & aslong as they are doing that with good numbers to their game & experienced European level. That costs money. Sima is worth more because he is good but young. If he was experienced too, along with his age & skill level. His value would be even higher than it currently is.
