I'm work in an lab doing R&D and on multiple occasions I've caught myself mentally list-writing while all hazmat/respirator suited up handling nasty chemicals. But so far I've survived!
It would be great to have impetuous one, impetuous two, impetuous three. Impetuous one only fails on a one impetuous two only fails on a two or under and impetuous three fails on a three and under that way, you could fine-tune it.
Feel like a good fix to Impetuous would be that they only go charging off if they outnumber the potential charge target. With pistoliers, having a light cavalry shooty unit decide to run off and charge a big block of heavy infantry isn't hotheaded, it's self-destructive! If it was a little unit of chaff or a war machine, that makes much more sense.
Impetuous would be way better if instead of having to charge on a 4+, it's instead "half" frenzy where you never have to charge, but you always have to overrun the same way a frenzied unit does. It fits orcs, pistoliers, dragon princes, etc a lot more and stops impetuous from ruining the playavility of some units Having to overrun is sometimes worse than having to charge (no one cares if their pegasus knights gained impetuous) because it let's your opponent bait them out of position after combat, just not into a suicidal charge but
Liked the choices you went for with the missing units (at least in the competitive stuff). I guess these are mine: 1) Combat heroes on foot. Perhaps a boring one because we all know why. And of course we do see some, but so many of the best models ever made are pretty much redundant as things stand. Even Dwarf heroes aren't on foot in the only army where everyone is! 2) Orcs & Goblins. Orcs. Goblins. The list has been written to exclude them and it's rubbish. Things that involve Night Goblins are unlocked by fielding Night Goblins, but the same doesn't apply to things that involve normal Goblins. Why? Orcs seem to be OK in and of themselves, but not there because Black Orcs can be core (why?) and Night Goblins (who should have got their own army in the arcane journal and more of a minor role in the main list). Impetuous gets cited as a reason too (nobody seems to want an Orc and Goblin army with the supposed flavour they've been given), but the orcs at least would usually want to charge if they can. 3) Andrew did well to avoid the obvious and go for Miners instead, but Slayers. Need something to make them worthwhile. Ward save, some kind of access to additional attacks, maybe don't get pushed back as part of unbreakable, not be so expensive? And some clarity on Motley Crew so we can work out exactly how bad they are in the first place wouldn't go amiss (I may be missing something on this front, please help if you can!).
The ranking talk would make me feel the absolute need to stop playing nice fun lists, Especially a ELO system. my lists would need to be hardcore all the time, no more making sure my opponent gets to play against something fun for them too. Just hardcore meta lists all the time.
I feel like this happens in tournaments anyway, we dont have any real ranking system and people are already taking the piss. But with the ruleset currently where it is with some standout strong meta I get this could make it a bit worse. I feel the players that want to win with a strong meta will always take that to a tournament no matter if there was an organised global ranking system or not.
As I alluded during the episode I do agree with your fear. I can definitely feel my competitive juices flowing looking at the rankings! Hopefully gommo can get enough non competitive elements to interact with the interface to give the sites more dimensions
@@NewyDad8076 yeah I agree that a lot of people already do. It’s my personal opinion that this would increase the meta/power lists by 20% or so. I know because I’m one of those people. I’m casual until you start tracking my games over long periods of time and posting them for other people to see. Then I’m driven to play hardcore.
@@NewyDad8076 I feel like it has to happen, but I wish there was a better way. The absolute best answer is have really strong comp rules and then play hard-core. That’s my actual favorite. You throw in 33% max characters and the rule of two, rule of one for characters. Maximum unit size 40, maximum unit width 10. I’m all in for rankings
The largest problem in the entire game is 50% characters.
Agreed. But can we spend every week banging on about it? 😆

Haha gold
"I work in an lab doing R&D"
Any rats involved?
You only take a panic test for fleeing through *FRIENDLY UNITS* if you flee through enemy units it a *PERIL TEST* (4+ each model avoids a wound.)

That's great idea, and very fluffy

0:03 no way every army gets everything, not until legends armies are officially picked back up if they are

Spot on haha. I was going to say slayers but like you said its too obvious.
"R&D" - Sounds like something Clan Pestilens or Moulder would do

Hard comp for hard competitive. I like it
