I bought dozens of knives from Knifeworks over a three year period about ten years ago. They had the best prices, and if I ordered before 2pm, it shipped that day. I don’t buy many knives these days… I really like your setup there. 👍🏼👍🏼🇺🇸
Well thank you, and I appreciate you commenting. And yes, KnifeWorks is my new favorite place to order from, not only because they offer the engraving service..but because they have great prices like you said, great customer service and are knowledgeable about their own products. Great place to order from! Thanks again!
There is a product called Emnu that we used to touch up our insignia in the Corps. It was like a thick black epoxy paint. If you can find an old jarhead who still has some, that would work to fill in the engraving. Sadly, I don’t have any. Only place I ever got it was at the PX on whatever Marine Corps base I was on. But you have probably already finished with it.
Hello Survival of the Fittest nice informative video, I also have the Esee 6 in black with the stock sheath. I have my Esee 6 set up with the Khaki molle back and with a black accessory pouch. I also have the Winter forest handles on mine all from the Knife Connection. If you get a chance look up SPEC-OPS knife sheaths and their sheaths are also show up on RUclips reviews. Their sheaths depending with knives you have with fit a variety of different knives lengths with just one sheath all made in the USA. Man can never own to many knives. Thank you for sharing you video for all of us.
I like your set up there but it looks brand new, I love knives with some good use on it. I paid almost $300 for my Esee 6 here in Canada, of course everything is expensive as Hell here. I've been using that knife every day since I got it. As for me, I don't mind the stock scales on my Esee as well as the sheath but I do like the clip plate that comes with the stock sheath, I wouldn't mind that on a custom kydex sheath. I don't mind the coating on the blade and I find that Esee has the best coating on their knives around but since I use mine quite a lot, the coating is just starting to wear so I might strip it. I'm just happy that I finally got an Esee 6, it's been my dream knife for a few years now, I still haven't put that thing down since I got it. As soon as I get home I fiddle with it out back or in the woods.
Yea it was relatively new at the time, plus oiled, but yea it remains my favorite ESEE..thus far. It does suck that ESEE's are so expensive out of the states..cause one of their biggest appeals is that they are 'adventure-ready' knives, at an affordable price, widely available to every price bracket. Buuut..that seems to be true only in the states, which kinda defeats the point of these knives, everywhere else. Either way, they're still well worth it, and once you buy 1...you're set for life, thanks to their amazing warranty. I also like their coatings, and coatings in general, cause I like to color match my gear, personalizing it, making it unique and mine, something different than the other millions out there, and set to my color scheme preferences, which are usually dark earth tones. Also, it helps protect them, and I notice no difference in use. Great knives all around.
@@survivalofthefittest409 I totally agree. I have my eye on either a junglas or an RTAKII 125th anniversary edition which comes in a green, molle compatible nylon sheath, not the typical bland black sheath with the insert. I don't know what's going on with OKC, if they're done or what, but I can't get my hands on any OKC knives here because they're out of stock unless I get it off ebay, but I lucked out on a 125th anniversary RTAKII which I'll order in a couple days here. I pretty much use my Esee 6 for everything, I just need a bigger brother knife to hack through bush and some batoning. The Junglas will run me almost $400 Canadian whereas the RTAKII will cost me almost $300. But I really want the Junglas so I'll get that one next month.
@@survivalofthefittest409 if The Esee 6 is the budget friendly version of the Chris Reeves Pacific knife, then I sure hate to see how much the CRK costs here in Canada
Don’t worry about making something new for video , I don’t care if 1000 people did a review or a video on the same subject , I enjoy listening to videos on the same subject , this is how we all learn , from everyone different point of view and perspective on said subject or item . The more videos on the same thing….the better IMO , 👍
If you're talking about the orange liners, they are part of the scales, which come from "The Knife Connection". Pretty cheap too. The blade at the end is a Dark Timber - Honey Badger (Gen 1). Best place to get them is actually Facebook groups lol, but they're not cheap 😬 but worth it, imo.
Thanks! And if you're not careful it could..but it's not been a problem for me so far, and I've had it for years. There's no retention on it, so when you un-snap it, it will go wide open, out of the way of the cutting edge.
I bought this one from Knifeworks.com, but if you didn't see any on the site they maybe be out of stock for a moment. There are lots of other sites that offer them, i.e Amazon, KnifeConnection, DLT, etc...but knifeworks is the only one I've found where you can order an engraving with your order, another words..you don't have to be physically there for it. Email them, they have great customer service 👍🏻
Nice setup you got there. Esee may not be happy about using their logo, I was actually told I wasn't allowed to use any of them for my etching due to copyright issues. That came from Mike perrin also. Hopefully they don't say anything though.
That's surprising to hear, usually they're pretty cool about that. I didn't think they would particularly care, since it was used on their product 🤷🏼♂️ Hopefully they'll let this continue, cause this makes it possible for everyone to have exactly what they want. Thanks for watching and commenting though!
@@survivalofthefittest409 you would think so but just going of what I was told. Again, hopefully they don't care and if you haven't heard anything from them yet, I'm sure it's ok.
Fallknivens are definitely great knives. Both will serve you well, its really a tastes choice. I'm more of an ESEE guy, but I'll acknowledge it's a great knife.
@@survivalofthefittest409 Bark River Knives provides the exact same unconditional lifetime warranty for their knives but in addition they also cover the sheaths whereas esee does not. It’s not a big deal but it’s still enough to make BRK’s warranty better imo.

@@survivalofthefittest409 Does Knifeworks do the old ESEE skull logo engraving still? Or was that a temporary thing they use to do?

Who made the sheath?
"The Knife Connection"
They make a ton of aftermarket parts for ESEE & Becker, scales & sheaths!
I've used them a ton, great company.
where did you get this awesome sheath ?! :-) greetz from germany
The sheath is from "the knife connection". And thanks for watching! 😊
Do you even use this knife or have you invested so much into it that you just stare at it?
In that video, I had only just got it not long ago, it was still brand new. Since then, I have used, but not abused it.
Hahaha , that's hilarious . I personally would have just framed a knife that looks this good 👍
The thought had crossed my mind lol

I'm not sure what comment you're referring to, but I had the black version for years, loved it, but sold it to get this version recently.
I like the look of that although the blade going in & out is exposed to the strap that goes around the handle? Looks like it would cut through that?
