All it means is that you go to CCD once a week, you get a few sacraments, and then you go to church twice a year for Easter and Christmas Eve. Some people like my mom and grandma go every week, but most Catholics couldn’t care less about theology and identify with the faith superficially, as a kind of vague cultural attachment. This whole “trad Cath” thing only exists online. Catholic Mass is the most boring service imaginable.
Because you grew up at a modern Catholic parish. Attend the TLM for a few months and get involved with the parish and you’ll see a stark difference with what you’re talking about. Traditional Catholicism is not just online. There’s plenty of parishes globally that use the traditional form of the Mass and give orthodox preaching from the pulpit, and they all have a thriving parish life with a young demographic
