    Hey Matt , thanks for the video. I have owned the hta 200 for a couple of years now. I want to recommend a tube upgrade of the the 2 very front tubes 6k4 . I replaced them with some ge tubes off Amazon, they are only like $15 a piece. I got a huge upgrade in performance. The bass is much stronger, it's clearer and overall has more omf I guess you can say. I recommend it someone and they liked it so much that they ended up getting some gold lions and saw even more of an improvement. I wanted to eventually change the rest but I haven't done it yet. But it's literally night and day. Thanks 🙏 and good luck

      @@BostonMike68 Thank you, I've been wondering about doing that. At that price I think I have to

      I was wondering if you could specifically point me in the right direction for the replacement tubes you bought, I looked on Amazon and there are many choices. I have never replaced tubes before, and I want to make sure I'm doing it right. Thanks in advance, no rush. Matt

      @@mattsrecordcollection Hey Matt, I used the matched 7 pin GE jan 5654w upgrade. It shows you all the tubes it will be compatible with. They are the front 2'tubes , the ge tubes are shorter but they will When I used to turn the volume up a quarter of the way with the new tubes is like turning it half way with the old ones and it sounds all around better. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to leave me a message 🙏

      @@MarianitoDaroya I'm not an expert but it out-does my old, 1980, Sansui. I don't have any complaints.

    Matt what is the turntable you have and your speakers are they plug in monitors or passive. Name brand and model. I am very new to the phono arena but I do know that a pre am with tubes should give it a lot of power and sound much warmer.

    • @mattsrecordcollection
      @mattsrecordcollection  Месяц назад

      @@ZAXNWOG The turntable is a Music Hall Classic belt drive with an Ortofon Blue cartridge, cost; $785. The speakers are a pair of passive Kenwood JL-790s with a 12" driver, 4" mid and a 3" dome tweeter. I only paid $100 for the speakers and updated the drivers with the Dayton Audio 12" classic.

    is the bass kinda weak from what your saying,if your big into bass this wouldnt be a good buy,i have 3 way dayton audio cabinets i built with ported 12 inch woofers so i do like my bass,any tips on maybe another brand,ive been looking at vintage pioneer and sansui but im scared of buying them and they werent refurbished but they said they were and i mean how long will they last anyways,so im stuck here should i be looking at the monster vintage recievers for deep bass,i mean i dont listen to rap,just lots of electronica,thanks to anyone for help

      I wouldn't say it's weak, there are bass and treble knobs. I did have a Sansui G5500 receiver before this, and I would say it handles bass a bit better when I wanted to play heavier music. I'm no expert though, just my experience. 😁 Thanks for the view and comment!
