This film was fabulous. The Seven Tubs looks amazing and you really showed it off by the way you filmed it. I also loved the tag on the end. We do live in an amazing country. Thanks for all your hard work sharing these amazing hidden places that I would have never heard of except for your films.
Thank you Aaron I truly do appreciate your comments, feedback, and support! It means alot to me. Seven Tubs is a really unique place. It's also kinda difficult to film, I found. These awesome natural places bring me a real sense of peace and happiness, filming them is a joy, it feels like a blessing. And, God Bless America!

I watched this video when it came out, and this area made my list. I'm rewatching it now, I'm sure you know why. I just realized, when looking at Jim's book, how close this is to where we will be. I definitely plan on hitting this spot!
Just finished this video after starting it a few days ago. I'm glad I watched all the way to the end. I appreciate your observations of 9/11, and how blessed we are to be in this country! So many have it so far worse than we do!
Spring is my favorite time to hike. I love be able to see all the trees and flowers start to wake up from their winter sleep. To see all the tiny buds really encourages me to slow down and appreciate nature. The autumn colors are beautiful. And on a winters day to see the tiny icicles.
I had the covid a few months back, my prayers that you may make a full and complete recovery. Not being able to go outside that I love so much made me appreciate nature that much more.
You captured the beauty of the place so well! Pinchot was a very interesting person, learned a lot about him at Grey Towers in Milford, PA. He dedicated his life to forest preservation, very same forests that his family destroyed by heavy lumbering. BTW my favorite time of year to hike definitely 🍁🍂
Thank you Eva! I had the opportunity to tour the Grey Towers myself some years back, and it was a really neat place. Starting to seem some nice colors especially reds in the trees, this is a beautiful time of the year. I would love to have October last year round!
Beautifully done in every aspect. Thank you for sharing a place I never heard of. I grew up and live in south central PA along North Mountain. My brother, friends and I used to hike along a deep gorge with stream along an area called Nancy's Saddle to the top of the second mountain top.....hike a couple miles to Devil's Half Acre in the Edenville Gap. It was an awesome mass of boulders.....some the size of cars and the view across the Cumberland Valley to South Mountain was amazing. So many beautiful places to see in this state that get a person "up close and personal" with God's creation. Thanks
Beautiful comments Karen thank you. Pennsylvania is a beautiful state and it's been a real joy for me to explore various parts of it so far. In fact Devil's Half Acre is on my list of sights to see so you never know, maybe I will make a video there one day!
First of all … wonderful editing and presentation!!! Great cinematic shots…and the place? Aaaaaawesome!!! So much green all over! Definitely I will pin that in my Google map 😊
Absolutely Dave, all seasons have their advantages. I'm a big fan of cold weather myself. If I had to rank them I would go spring, fall, winter, summer!
What a wonderful place. Your filming and choice of music made it feel like a temple (and of course, it is.) So beautiful. Thank you, Gator, for this journey.
Great Vid! What an amazing area. I live on the West side of PA and need to get over there myself with my camera to shoot. - Fav time to hike for me is mid Spring. Still have cool air and the Daylight Savings time has changed.
Mid spring is pretty awesome I agree! I have the same dilemma with western PA myself. It requires a real effort to get over there. Hopefully in this coming year I can line something up to get out there. And yes 7 Tubs is pretty awesome place. Small but stunning formations...
I have seen many videos of people partying and playing in the water, and I know it has gotten a bit out of hand from time to time. I wanted to showcase the simple natural beauty of this place with this film.
Hello Walter! Came to your channel and subscribed after Cliff mentioned you in his video. What absolutely beautiful scenery! Really loved and enjoyed your video!
I like to be warm, so hiking in summer, too is OK for me. I like visiting in different seasons to see the way things change and note the beauty in the 'workings' of it all. I love Creation! Was the way you took, by the streamside, a real trail that I can find? or did you pick your way to those amazing spots? I need to go there! Peace & Prayers.
Some of the spots in the beginning I kind of weaved my way along the streamside, thought I stayed on obvious paths others had created. Seven tubs is super cool, but it has become very popular, and is used alot by people for swimming. I would advise visiting early in the morning or mid week or in cooler temps to avoid those that are there to party, and not appreciate nature .🙂
@@WALTERZOLNA I try to do things on Tuesdays, but people are everywhere. This is only an hour drive for me. Thanks for sharing this place. I will give you credit if I make it an episode. Peace & Prayers.
It's a very compelling place on many different levels. I can only imagine how invigorating that rushing mountain water must feel on a hot summer day. I was also impressed with the cascades, mini falls, and rapids, along Laurel Run as well. Very unique location for the region. Good luck in your ongoing travels my friend!
Being from out of state, we're getting to know Pennsy better through your work. Have made plans to see some of the places you have featured, thanks to you. Thanks also to Wandering Woodsman, for if he had not mentioned you in one of his videos we likely would not have found you. Would have been a regrettable loss that we may have never known.
Thank you Harry for checking out my channel, there is so much to see in the beautiful state of Pennsylvania. Woodsman is an amazing guy and a wealth of knowledge on the commonwealth's ecology, geology, and history.
I think you are right about the prime weeks for hiking or any outdoor activities in the NE. However, it has a lot to do with the clothing and boots you wear and how prepard you are. I'm 75, which I can't believe, but seeing you hike alone made me think of myself. I also hiked, biked, boated and walked a lot of places alone when I was young. However, I have come to appreciate the fact that you shouldn't do anything anywhere alone, be that in a city or in the mountains. Why? Stuff happens. The other person is your safety net. In a city, they can deter crime. In the mountains, they can see what happens and help, or go for help. They can also stop you from doing something dumb. We all do dumb and sketchy things. I looked at you walking aroung the rocks of the Seven Tubs and thought, what if he slipped into the steam, broke a leg, and couldn't climb out? You might die and they might never find your body. I personally know of many examples of people dying after slipping. Take another person along if you can. If you can't, stay away from edges, wet rocks, loose gravel and soil, tight spots, and anything that looks dangerous. There is only one you. You have to look after yourself like you would for your kid or wife. It also would not be stupid to wear a helmet. I saw a video of a woman hiking with her kids. One kid slipped and fell, hit his head, and they had to get out and find a doctor. Not usually easy in places like you hike. Get a light weight helmet. Just sayin. Happy hiking. By the way, one of my classmates fell off a cliff at Minnewaska and died. I do not believe he was rock climbing, just hiking.
I appreciate your message here, it's a good one. Hiking with another person isn't really an option for me most of the time but I understand the jist of what you are saying. Slip and fall, is potentially fatal and one of the only concerns I have when going out into the woods, my biggest fear of all being the lowly tick. I was wondering upon my recent trip to Minnewaska why the park doesn't open till 9 am. As I took in the views from cliff after cliff it occurred to me that perhaps it's simply an issue that the park is too dangerous to navigate in the early morning or evening. I'm not surprised at all to hear about a slip and fall death there.
@@WALTERZOLNA I think Minnewaska isn't open until 9AM because it takes time for people to get up there, and sometimes the weather can be a problem. The slip and fall thing might account for an hour. I don't know. I heard of at least three slip and fall deaths. Yosemite, the decomposed granite underfoot caused someone to fall off El Capitain. A person climbed over the wall next to the road of Storm King Mountain to take a picture and slipped on black ice and fell 500'. A young photographer fell off Cannon Mt. in NH when he got too close to the edge and fell off. I will not get close to the edge of a cliff. Why do it? It would be my luck that a rock that has been there for 12,000 years would finally give way with my weight and that would be it. Granted these deaths are rare, but usually they are stupid, needless, deaths. Regarding ticks. My wife has a huge fear of them. However, it is rare that they kill you. I was a teacher and had a number of students with severe cases of Lyme Disease. They had to drop out of school. They did recover though and eventually return. As you know, untreated Lyme Disease can lead to horror stories. I'm sure you know the precautions, cover your skin, spray deet around any cuffs and exposed skin. My brother got a mild case. He got a shot and it was over. I was bitten and found the tick 12 hours later with no ill effects. It was behind my knee. I was gardening and kneeling down to plant plants. I was wearing shorts. Stupid is as stupid does. (Forrest Gump). Ticks are another reason to have someone along. You need to be checked all the time. Many of the trails are through woods and do not have underbrush, like Minnewasks, but many do. I sent you a video about a guy who got his foot stuck and died. There was also that guy who got stuck in a slot canyon and cut off his arm with a pocket knife to save his life. (Ouch!) The longer you live the more you hear. Hear is another one. People you meet on the trail are usually very nice, but there can be assholes and criminals out there too. Many years ago there was a case where two young women were killed on a trail in California. Then there was the Atlanta Bomber, Eric Rudolph, who was in the mountains for at least a year. There was anothe story of a young woman who was hiking alone, raped, and then cut up. They got the guy. He was an actual crazy. I have seen guys with rifles stapped over their shoulders. Why they needed rifles in the summer in the East was beyoned me. They kind of freaked me out. If someone gives you weird vibes, just keep going. To us, the woods are a wonder, beautiful, God's miracle, and all that. To locals, it is nothing unusual and some assholes may use the remoteness and cover to commit thefts, and other crimes. Someday, just for fun, stop at a State Police station and ask them a few questions. I think they can all tell you stories, which rare, did happen.
PS. I had childhood friend who became a cop in the Adirondacks. He once told me of two friends of his, husband and wife, who were traveling and camping across the south. They were murdered in a State campground in Alabama. I don't think they ever caught who did it. My wife is afraid of guns and we do not own any. However, if I had a different wife, was young, etc. I would buy some king of handgun to just carry in a holster. If someone sketchy came up to me, I would make sure they could see it. I was thinking a 44 magnum, but they are pretty heavy. On the other hand, one could stop a bear. A Glock may be a better choice for hiking. Yeah, this is pretty far out there and may take away from the experience, but you carry other things. Do you carry an emergency beacon device to contact people to rescue you?
