Y'all. Her mother would give her minimal food and abuse her if she came out of her room. She was meant to stay locked away abused and neglected. The paper balls are to see if she opened the door or not. If they fell, it means she opened it. That means trouble.

I had an alarm and a lock outside my door. The alarm was to notify them if the lock broke. I wasn't starved, I was let out daily but every night that lock was locked and the alarm was set. I went to school and did chores, ate, showered, and did homework. I was given a radio...but then to me the worst punishment was when I would get in trouble I had to stand in the bathroom and point at myself for hours in front of the mirror and repeat "It's all my fault."
I didn't think anything of how I was raised until I was in a group home and brought it up in group therapy. I thought it was completely normal to be treated like that. I was 10... I don't stand in front of mirrors longer than I absolutely need to, in fact I hate it... I rarely wear makeup just because I don't want to stand in front of a mirror 😒
Edit: thank you guys for the support but it happened a very long time ago. I'm an adult now with 3 daughters of my own and yes living a much better life now. I know others went through way worse than what I went through. My story has a lot more to it but this is as much as I will share. Again thank you all for the support. It's crazy how complete strangers can care more than the family you were born to.

The world is a mess.. On the other side of that there are parents who care so little they let their children do anything. Then those children go to prison or get into all sorts of various issues like having 3 children they need the parents to take care of etc. The lesson for me is having children needs to be a decision someone really really really thinks hard on. If they think they've thought it through enough, they haven't.

Ok so anyone who’s wondering, this girl got locked up in her room by her mother and her mothers boyfriend. They would lock her in her room for as long as possible and the cotton balls are for if she escaped from her room they would fall. One day she escaped and called 911 but out of fear she hung up and went back in her room. the abusers found out and got a belt and abused her a lot. It just got worse and worse until she decided to try to kill herself with the belt. (Around her neck)
The closet rack ended up falling because of her weight. Her “mother” finally called help for her bc of the suicidal commit. She ended up being put up for adoption and she’s all safe with a family.
I’m sorry for my false information, but she did try and call 911 while getting food bc I saw her vudeos

    The story:
Basically when she was a child her parents locked her inside of her room and the paper balls are to see if she open the door and one day she opened the door and went to the kitchen to get food and she went back to her room thinking that everything was OK but it wasn't...
Her parents then came home seeing the paper balls on the floor so they knew she opened the door so her stepdad went to beat her up with *HER* belt and left the belt with her and then she went inside the closet trying to *KILL HERSELF BY HANGING HERSELF WITH THE BELT* and she accidentally broke her closet then her mom heard the crash So she went to check. She saw the closet and her crying so she rush to grab her phone and called a mental hospital telling them what she's trying to do.
And i don't know what happened next but she's probably living a better life with a new family..

I remember when I was about 4-5, my parents favoured my older sister because she was more mature. So, they had no use for me and sent me to my room and locked the door. And a reminder that my sister WASNT RELATED TO ME! My own mother who birthed me and “loved me” neglected me until I started middle school. She says I’m a manipulator and I’m selfish. I wonder where I got that from. My mother also complains why I’m closer to my real father, well, if she’d payed closer attention to my trama and mental health, I would have gotten along with her more. My mother also abused me emotionally and mentally. Thanks to her I need therapy and I’m still trying to recover. Im glad my dad is here for me. I swear my father is the best Because he was there for me throughout these years of my life. No one can replace him. Oof, I got a little emotional there. Sorry if I made you cry 😅.

I was also abused by my grandmother. She wouldn't lock me in my room but if I was anywhere near her she'd start physically and verbally abusing me. So I stayed in my room to avoid confrontation with her. She would make lunch for my brother and sister but not for me. Fortunately after lunch she would take a nap so that's when I'd leave my room to eat whatever I could. This was from the age of 10 to 14 so I didn't know how to cook. So I'd eat anything I could and I tried to be as quiet as possible because if she heard any movement in the kitchen she'd come after me. And my parents telling me that it was probably because of something I did. That I somehow brought this on myself. They' d go off to work and leave us with her. This was convenient for them so it didn't matter that this woman traumatized me for years and the people that should have been protecting me did nothing to stop it because they needed her to babysit us. When I was 10 I had to spend an entire summer outside because we lived in a military housing complex and my parents were afraid someone would report us if they heard any screaming or yelling. They would wake me up early and I'd hang out all morning at the playground, at lunch my father would come home give me lunch and then I'd have to spend the rest of the afternoon back at the playground. So of course I grew up thinking I was a piece of shit and to this day I have to convince myself that I was a child and didn't deserve that kind of treatment. And even though I know this is true there's still a little piece of me that keeps believing that I somehow deserved this. My parents have no idea the damage this did to me. It has affected every decision I have made because I have no self-esteem and have exhausted all my energy. First because I needed to survive what I was going through and then because I've had to consistently convince myself that I deserve better. I have constant PTSD and feel like I will never be good enough.

Try to not spend the second half of your life getting over the first half. Your trauma needs to be recognized and validated but outside of that it's already stolen enough from you. Don't let it steal more by over staying it's welcome in your thoughts. Recognize if a specific thought keeps replaying over and over and if it is tell it out loud. I remember, I did the best I could with what I knew at the time. I forgive myself and others and I deserve to move past this and not wallow in it. Then purposefully think of the positive changes you have made in your life now that your an adult and have control over it. If your not happy with how your life is going don't beat yourself up over it. Recognize what parts or behaviors are from your abuse and change it so you do like it. You spent a lot of time with someone making your life be miserable, don't be the person that does it to you now. You are worth it. Spread positiveness, just be sure to start with yourself first : ) I wish you well

Honestly, your response doesn’t sound healthy. Just because your abuse isn’t as bad as what she went through, doesn’t mean you are affected any less by the trauma you already suffer from. But if being grateful for what you have helps you through this, then I’m not one to judge. I hope you are able to get out of that situation soon, and once you do please don’t ever let your abusive parents convince you that it “wasn’t that bad,” because it is THAT BAD. As a person you should be treated with decency and basic respect. If you aren’t able to leave yet, know that you are important and deserving of so much more.

To add, I know each person is complicated and so are your parents. If you eventually leave, you can *love* them and also acknowledge how they chose to withold love from you and inflict pain instead. They need to change if they want any *respect* from you. I feel strongly about this bc I have family trauma that’s been passed down to me and I know what it’s like to have someone care for you but also disrespect you, it’s confusing and hurtful but there’s always the possibility to work on fixing that behavior and mending struggling family relationships.

So I know a person that got abused (my best friend)
So technically, my best friend was abused when she was little...
Her brother's father was very abusive and her mother would get hit by him..
So then her mother was done with all that trama and decided to leave his a$$ but without telling him... And when they tried to drive away her brother's father was looking at them and he got a statue and through it at the back of the car but the window was very strong and they kept driving away from him and there she meet her childhood home !
She has suicidal thoughts (so do I) and she would cut herself... I would always try to stop her but she kept doing it... (I don't cut myself)
So please know that your not the only person that was abused In your life!..

I was the third born out of 5 siblings and my birth mother hated me and she tried to lock me in my room and said the only time I could leave was to eat and go to the bathroom and I straight up told her if she did that I would scream out my window for help and if she locked the window I would break it or kick the walls and alert the neighbors. She said “you better not” and I said that I will, She didn’t lock me in my room after I said that becuz she was scared of the cops.

I relate to this. I was forced to stay outside in a camper without running water or plumbing with my brother who brought friend over who were very sexual to me. They would give us food but my brother would keep it from me. I had to keep water in jugs and drink from a water hose and pee outside. I rarely had bowl movements because I didn't eat. I wasn't allowed inside the house. It got so hot in there that I often opened the door just so I could feel a breeze but that was rare in the summer.

I had to call cps and a girl who had her daughter locked like Harry Potter under the stairs, living in her own filth. The first time I saw her, she came out from under the stairs so say "I'm so thirsty." At the time I was visiting the house because my friend was staying there to avoid being homeless and the mother of the child was a family member, my friend knew she has a kid but had thought she was still in care and the fist time she saw that little girl in that house was in that moment. The mom promptly scooped her up with a look or rage and told her to never come out of the room if she can hear people in the house, before plopping her in the storage room again. She laughed and said she gets curious when people come around, I asked her her name and my friend answered for me. I said if she thirsty I could order us all some food. She said yes but only have me the list of food for what she wanted from McDonald's so I just ordered her daughter a happy meal. When me and my friend went up in her room she started to cry and told me about the situation. She told me she was terrified that she had no clue how long she was keeping her daughter in the home and that she thinks something is seriously wrong. I did too, from what I saw and how the mother/my friends family member seemed like she was holding back her anger with the child made me scared for her. Scared what it was like when no one was home. My friend wanted to call cps and knew she'd lose the house for it but didn't care. She wanted to stay in a shelter to keep that baby safe. So I'd hold her I would help her. I started recording on my phone while I held it like I was texting and proceeded downstairs with my friend to get the McDonald's waiting at the front door. Mum was in the living room downstairs and came to the door when I grabbed the food for her share, she ordered a drink and large fries with a big Mac. She seemed to be picking out small fries for her daughter and to eat and this was a red flag to me because I had a feeling she'd feed her the bare minimum even tho her daughter was thirsty from what I herd, so I walked straight over to the storage closet and opened it, I could see her mom in my side vision staring at me with almost a poised stance. The little girl just stared at me and I could then see the inside or the storage closet. It had a half empty box of pull ups in there with a bunch of dirty ones in a pile in the corner. A lot of 711 food wrappers, a hair brush and garbage all over, and a dog bed with a my little pony in it. I was honestly shocked and almost didn't know what to say. So I just pulled her toy out of the happy meal box for her and she looked so happy. I gave her the food and opened her milk for her and just told her to enjoy but she was staring at her mom and looked really scared. I was shaking at that point because ofcorse I knew how bad this was now. I nudged the milk into her hand and she immediately drank it and slowly shut the door. I stood up and tried not to look at her mom right away as I knew I would probably be obviously angry looking and if I'm being completely honest. I was trying to hold myself back from doing worse then look at her. "Isn't she just a cutie?" I said she was as she walked back to her spot in the living room. When my friend saw me shaking while I walked up the stairs, she asked me what was wrong. Thankfully I was carefully recording the intire thing. Every step I took up those stairs made me want to cry because only her and her mom knew how long she'd been down there and I was just walking over her. I showed her the video. And we'll. It didn't even take a day for foster care to take her away. It turned out that she'd had a problem with dr*gs and had neglected her before. The father's family took temporary custody untill she got sober. She had done treatment and was back at it the second she got her daughter back and that little girl had to live there ever since. The ministry believed that she had a a room for her daughter to stay but that room was the one my friend was renting and apperently she thought she could make some money like that while her little girl lived in worse then a prison. My friends mom actually ended up adopting her. But this video reminded me alot of what happened that day and I honestly don't think I was responsible for her having her happy ending. But I was happy to give her whatever care I could. Even tho it feels like there was nothing I could do besides what I did.

This is almost like how in lived. My parents would fight a lot and called the police 3times to stop the fight, evrytime this happend I locked myself in my room and cried,I would always say in my mind “I just want peace 😢”.all my other friends had perfect lives and where always happy.sometimes I had breakdowns and cry a lot at school, that’s when my OCD started,I kept thinking about my future more then what’s happening now , and that’s all !spread love everyone!❤❤❤

@@chung4256 yes, and if a child is acting cruel, it’s parents fault. Children come to world completely clueless and learn everything from their parents, it’s never child’s fault at the first place, it usually means that the parent did smth wrong

@@nemotheghost9196 One children don’t learn everything from there parents, surely you would know that. Many elements contribute to a child’s growth and actions. The parents are there guardian that’s there role. School is for education and that is where the children learn. They also learn from other sources too like social media. See when a child is bad and cruel is it the parents fault? In most cases no. But what most contribute to a child’s attitude is the influence of there friends and social media. Parents aren’t to blame for everything that happens to a child. Parents already have to do everything behind the scene they take care of children and give children The necessities that you need to thrive in this world. I believe parents can contribute to a kids actions but other children contribute more.

Sometimes I think I take how I was treated as a child for granted because I was never abused or neglected and I think when I realize that having a good childhood is a privilege I hate having to face the fact that I was lucky. I don’t want to say that either because not everyone got that and that is sad and just not ok to me to have to think about. Prayers and love to all.
