There were 50+ references to AI and ChatGPT during Salesforce's recent earnings call. The crowd didn't bite and stock price actually went down. Then a few days later, Benioff announced an AI Day during which they were going to discuss AI opportunities. Stock price didn't seem to care again. Now this guy is out and about doing interviews again talking up AI ...
At what point eagerness turns into desperation? It's almost as if he is trying to distract potential investors from something that may be happening behind closed doors ...
You could be on to something. I am with you...I guarantee they expected more lift from this. However, I think this is also, or even more so, a long term play for Salesforce. And I think it seems like they are approaching generative AI well. I'm excited to see future iterations of Einstein GPT.
@@SalesforceHelpClub I don't disagree that AI may well shape the future in ways we likely can't even imagine, right now. But this will take time. What we are witnessing now, however, with so many companies using the hype around AI to jack up their stock price on the basis of pure speculation, is beyond ludicrous.
Such increase in stock prices, and the market as a whole, is inorganic as it is based on sheer speculation and, often enough, ill-intended opportunism, not actual results of AI implementation.
