It will definitely pull just fine BUT I really suggest trailer brakes if you are going to pull anything with a TJ. There are some mountain roads I ride I would not want to depend on ALL TJ brakes to slow me down or stop me.
What's your engine I'm guessing 6 cylinder engine. I have a 2009 JKU and a teardrop trailer is on my bucket list . Mine has the 3.8 But some upgrades on the engine and of course having some plans for more power to pull down the road . Great video ! I'm also always carring my Flyfishing gear and my Photography Gear . #wildlife #Flyfishing
Yes, its the 4.0 6cyl...I like it well enough. Problem is, once you go Hemi...its hard to go back (my Grand Cherokee has the Hemi). I had a 2014 JKU.....it would pull a sub 1,000 pound small trailer. My suggestion is look into trailer brakes. The brakes on my JKU were not very good for emergency stopping a trailer. I need to get into Flyfishing. I enjoy fishing alot but have never really fly fished.
I'm looking at a Jeep Wrangler 4.0 / pop up camper combo and your vid showed me what I needed to know. Thanks!

Vman1313 Adventures Shouldn’t a ‘14 JKU pull at least a 2500# teardrop?
