Getting ready to do this on my 03. Needs a whole refresh. Gonna order the bolts ahead of time. Thanks for that! Also, I'm from Memphis and I could've swore you gents were too but then I saw the AR plates ;)
Awesome job, fellows! Looks like you guys are having fun and cracking up along the way (I’d probably be throwing a few things and yelling). I just watched part 1 yesterday and was bummed that you hadn’t published part 2 yet, and here it is. I appreciate how you guys are showing everything in detail (and the steps from the repair manual) and the struggles you encounter along the way (some of the other videos out there cut that out and it’s hard to appreciate what might come up). That front bolt on the leaf springs has been an issue in every video I’ve watched, and I don’t look forward to messing with that. One question-you mentioned pairing up numbers by pattern on the yellow bushings. I didn’t even realize those were numbered and already pressed mine in. What was the purpose of the combos? I can still remove mine before I start my install. Thanks, guys!
Thanks for your kind words and watching the video. I can’t find anything to suggest that it matters which number bushing you use. Maybe it’s a process that they do during manufacturing to ensure they get the right amount in a package. I just saw numbers and tried to rationally match them up. Sorry for the confusion!
Friends, I'm waiting on the exact parts you used. My truck is an 01. If you could tell me how buddies truck is doing. Is there anything y'all think about the front suspension? Is it too rough? Should I use the next clip down?
Mike says he wouldn’t change a thing. He just needs new front tie rods, bushings and such. I rode in it and it was absolutely not too rough. The last clip made it very hard to get the spring compressors out of the springs, but it was possible.
@@budgetprojectsbydavid5263 yeah I plan on doing ball joints and bushings as well. I watched a good number of videos and y'all's is the best one. Thanks for getting back to me.
I haven’t heard anything but positives out of him. It’s not his daily driver, though. I reached out again with your question and i’ll get back to you. Thanks!

Good luck with the project! Make sure to check the comments about the ball joints. Definitely something to consider. We’re practically neighbors!

Thanks! We tried. Feel free to share your experience with the group after your project.
Good.
Thanks
where did you purchase kit?
Ebay - 4 shocks from one listing and the coils / leaf springs from another listing. Total of about $1,200 back in March.
What engine does the truck have?
I believe Mike’s Tacoma has the 2.7L 4 cylinder.
He likes the performance and everything seems good? Thanks for the great video!

Everything’s good! He’s happy with it!
