Yes, shouts out to Jason, shouts out to his mother for raising him by herself, and shouts out to all of the mothers for doing all of the work by themselves and shouts out to all of the fathers for doing all of the work by themselves, like Jason said, unfortunately in the black community there are a lot of single parent families and households where the mothers are raising the children and working by themselves and the fathers are raising the children and doing the work by themselves.
I really appreciate Jason telling the truth about his opportunities. Many black folk are talented but if you're not connected in some way to Hollyweird (his Mom, a cousin?) You ain't getting in so easily. Either way he has to be ready when opportunities came knocking. He also pays much respect to his Mother for her guidance.
I met him about 4 years ago. Really nice guy. Was super appreciative of me coming up to him and saying hi and not snobby at all. He even came back around just to shake my hand and say goodbye when he was leaving. I was working as a host at a restaurant in Chicago at the time.
I had the privilege of working with Jason on a play and I will say, he is consistently one of the most talented, kind, intelligent, empathetic, drama free and easy going people I’ve ever met. I pray that he has continued success and happiness!
I've followed Jason for years! I'm so glad that he's one of few child actors who didn't end up going in the wrong direction. This was a great interview. Jason is still so intelligent and engaging. I was impressed with his answers to Vlad's questions...very tactful and respectfully articulated!!!
very true, i never heard of him, i listened to 'love ambition' for yrs but never knew the artist. while listening to the song this interview came up in the algorithm.
I can tell that Jason Weaver is a great stand-up type of dude, he is definitely a living legend in my book and one of the greatest to ever to it; kudos to him and what he was able to accomplish in his amazing career thus far, keep it up my brother.
Salute to Jason, I thoroughly enjoy this interview. Jason word choice and articulation plus art of story telling deserves to be acknowledge. Appreciate it King!
He sang a song about being a Lion King but his talent & patience regarding the royalty deal made him an actual King ❤ His mom is INCREDIBLE for advocating for her son!!!
I've recently gained a whole lot of respect for Jason Weaver just off the fact that he's been in movies & TV shows that I watched growing up as a kid like: Drumline, ATL, Lottery Ticket, Lion King, Smart Guy, The Jacksons: An American Dream & etc but had no idea as a kid that he was the same person, especially with his role as Little Michael Jackson & a young Simba in Lion King until I got older and realized that all those movies that I watched with him in it was the same actor all along. I even recently found out that he did the hook on Chingy's song "One Call Away". He's truly a legend for sure and right now he's on my fave TV Show on television right now "The Chi"💪🏾.
Janet and Tupac visiting the set of the Jackson miniseries. To be a fly on the wall to see that or Michael’s disguise in person. Someone give this man a book deal. 🙌🏾
Awesome interview. I wasn't aware he was the singer for Simba's character in the Lion King. Shout out 2him. Glad he didn't get lost in the Where Are They Now episodes & his career is flourishing!
You get those actors and singers that are so good at what they do. When I was a really young kid I really thought that Angela Bassett and Fishburne was really Ike and Tina....they were just that good. And just like that I really thought that Jason was MJ lol. Life long fan of him. Easily my favorite TV miniseries of all time.
This is nuts. I didn't think very much about him or his roles, before this interview. After listening to this I'm fairly certain he slowed his career down, maybe for a more normal life. This is beyond smart, way beyond intelligent. He was definitely not limited to just acting, or singing. I would not be surprised in the least if he ran a couple of company's... MIND BLOWN! I think I'm going to save a copy of this interview, if you see him fumbling at an interview, or struggling to make points, I would know it's pretend. Unfortunately, being black sometimes we have to down play our intelligence. He's not down playing shit in this interview.. WOW!
I’m convinced RUclips and other sites add dislikes themselves because how can 21 people dislike this interview!!! Unless it’s just 21 haters hating for no reason 🤷🏾♂️
So 4 minutes into the video & Vlad throws crack into the equation just because it was a black single parent home.... I guess simply breaking up wasn't logical. Crack HAD to have some kind of effect of his family somehow! #pathetic
@@maxiphone2062 NO it was DEFINITELY NOT a normal question! Does he ask EVERY 1 of his guests that are Jason's age that VERY same question? NO. Does ANYONE ask AsianAmer. , IndianAmer., Caucasian/white etc. or ANY OTHER race than Jason's that DUMB ASS, stereotypical question?? NO & you know that.
Why is Vlad trying to play chingy ? You have to do research and if you are interviewing people that are different you just have to do more research. He’s not saying anything crazy . Chingy is woke. Shoutout to Jason Weaver for being a stand up guy and not feeding into the shade . 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Vlad be shittin on MJ. Everyone in the black community knows how MJ was always a target where he had to go into makeup for 6-8 hours just to be seen as a non celebrity and move about as "normal" as possible. Its sad to live that way.
I wish more people would be as well spoken as Jason & as relaxed during an interview as Jason instead of sitting there feeling pressure to come off as any type of way or feeling pressure to be entertaining... Like, just answer the questions
Man Jason weaver just told my story Same they happen with my father and myself crazy thing pops reached out i wasn't trying to hear it and months later he was gone i regret it now RIP 🙏 pops
Had the pleasure of meeting Jason Weaver in Atlanta in the early mid 2000s. One of the koolest, positive, most humble people you would ever want to meet. Side note, why would Vlad immediately assume Jason's father was on crack? 🤦🏿♂️
On a few occasions Vlad tried to get Jason to say something negative or to laugh at Chingy and his perspective and Jason just kind of weave that whole setup so nothing but love for Jason he's articulate smart knows how to play the game
Jason Weaver was my first celebrity crush after Michael Jackson... ironic right? Lol I'm talking about writing his name all over my notebooks in middle school... I watched the Jacksons an American dream so much my mother hid the tape from me. Then he was on other movies I was soooooo in love with him.
aww yay i love Jason Weaver - I just can't wait to be king is my go to disney song! He seems as nice as I thought/hoped he was. Thanks for the great interview
Vlad you have been in the game too long to still be constantly interrupting guests.. we click the link the hear them talk, not you. It was annoying hearing you constantly ask questions before Jason even finished answering the question. I have never posted a RUclips comment before, but please take this as constructive criticism. I understand the videos are edited some, but suggestion to stoo interrupting them.
The new Lion King was extremely good. Very engaging, pretty funny, and awesomely entertaining...I never been to Africa but this film took me there. And Im 50yo.
I can’t explain how important he is to my upcoming, I LOVED that damn “Jackson 5: An American Dream”, I watched it EVERY TIME. I’m finna watch it after this
Now this, what Jason's Mom did is straight up entertainment 101, everybody should take a course in this. Talk about better deals to form residual income and delayed gratification, kiddos to Jason's Mom. Good looking out. Everybody go to 40 minutes in on this to hear the message.
Shouts to Jason Mother for being financially smart and seeing the longgggg run.
Amen!

This is a gem, there is not much info on Jason and he has been an important part of pop culture.
I met him about 4 years ago. Really nice guy. Was super appreciative of me coming up to him and saying hi and not snobby at all. He even came back around just to shake my hand and say goodbye when he was leaving. I was working as a host at a restaurant in Chicago at the time.

Kim Ber Lee he did an excellent job. Very intelligent and articulate!
I COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT BETTER MY SELF🤝
Well he clearly was lucky enough to have a mother that was actually looking out for him, instead of pimpin him out for a quick check
He had a great mom that made sure the industry didn’t damage her baby! A lot of these parents don’t care they only see dollar signs…
very true, i never heard of him, i listened to 'love ambition' for yrs but never knew the artist. while listening to the song this interview came up in the algorithm.
I hope this interview puts Jason on the radar for a lot more to come his way.
Agreed. I haven't seen him lately.
Me too!! God bless em...
Definitely
Yes
He will.. we in talks for my latest film UNLAWFUL DUTIES. Stemming from a hit short film on Amazon prime.
He is so underrated, such a amazing talent and individual
He plays Rashaad on The Chi now
I can tell that Jason Weaver is a great stand-up type of dude, he is definitely a living legend in my book and one of the greatest to ever to it; kudos to him and what he was able to accomplish in his amazing career thus far, keep it up my brother.

Mr. Jason Weaver
God bless him
Jason is a STAND UP MAN. Mom job well done. Well spoken, professional and just simply respectful.
Very humble dude, deserves more respect, and will always be marcus to me! #smartguyalltheway
The most positive interview I've watched on this channel. Jason is a great interviewee
This guy should have been just as big as will smith in my opinion.
Facts. Maybe he can still get there as he's only 40.
He is big as will Smith and better in a lot of black folks mind
Will Smith does it all in the movie business.
Kenah Wallace what black folks?
eric archer How?
Positive interview much Respect To Jason Weaver
This really was a refreshing Vlad interview
Vlad act like all single parent black homes had to have a person who was on drugs being the reason why the family didn’t work out gtfoh
Exactly
Jason: I was raised in the 80s.
Vlad: ...and so your parents were on crack.
SMDH
😂
I was thinking the same thing, that had nothing to do with nothing
I noticed that. He tried the shit out of Jason

The best interview vlad , such an important person to the culture
This guy was one of my favorite young comics back in the 90’s. He was funny as hell in, Thea. That sitcom was great!! He should do a podcast.
I remember him in "Summer Time Switch" from Disney with Ryder Strong from Boy Meets World. He was dope on thier too, as well as Thea.
@@nlee4566 Yes! Summertime Switch is where I started crushing on him hard! Classic!
Yo just seeing this dude face bring back memories lol. shout out to him man blessings 🙏🏽💯
Yeah Vlad every black family wasn't on crack in the 80's and every black family is not fatherless.
Thank you.
Yo that shit was annoying wasn’t it… 🤮
I wish Jason woulda called him out on that
Righhhhhtttt
Awesome interview. I wasn't aware he was the singer for Simba's character in the Lion King. Shout out 2him.
Glad he didn't get lost in the Where Are They Now episodes & his career is flourishing!
I like him. This is the 1st interview that I've seen with him as an adult 👌🏾
Dope guy and great interview! Loved his song love ambition back in the day! Glad to see he’s doing well. Get them royalty checks!
He's just got good energy... Ive always like Jason....
This dude right here is just an all around WELL-ROUNDED talent. I'd buy all his music.

Facts and Laurence Fishburne is Ike btw😆
damn, Jason's mom the REAL smart guy.
This interview should have way more views. Weaver a legend tho.
Respect to Jason Weaver! A veteran that should be a more recognized figure in film and music.
Been waiting on the full interview for a minute now. Finally I can watch the whole thing 😀
Great interview! I love Jason Weaver! He is always so positive.

Shout out to jason weaver. Super raw talent, and standup guy. God bless.
He is so intelligent! Truly underated in all areas!
Loved this interview, he's a very likeable young man. And a very talented young man. Continue success to you.

Glad to see him back on TV on The Chi. Mega talented brother.
Is he still on
So 4 minutes into the video & Vlad throws crack into the equation just because it was a black single parent home.... I guess simply breaking up wasn't logical. Crack HAD to have some kind of effect of his family somehow! #pathetic
I was thinking the same shit u said it dam Vlad
That really kissed me off and I’m so glad Jason corrected him by saying drugs were not a problem with his family.
It was a normal question and crack was in the 70-80 everywhere..

Well spoken....Jason❤
Mom did her thang!!🤷💝🙏🙏🙏
What a lovely well spoken man. He speaks like he has some sense amd is actually answering the questions.
He met Michael Jackson and Elton John and worked along side both before he was even 16 years old. Talk about a fucking lit child hood
I still enjoy watching this interview. Salute to mr weaver
Respect to a legend!!!! Great interview, Jason Weaver!!!

Vlad~"i love going places and not being recognized" that's easy to say when you never show your face lmfaoo 💀😂😂😂😂✌
Had the pleasure of meeting Jason Weaver in Atlanta in the early mid 2000s. One of the koolest, positive, most humble people you would ever want to meet. Side note, why would Vlad immediately assume Jason's father was on crack? 🤦🏿♂️
Because it's fucking Vlad.
The only reason im watching this is because there aren't a lot of in depth interviews with Jason but Vlad is definitely a culture vulture
On a few occasions Vlad tried to get Jason to say something negative or to laugh at Chingy and his perspective and Jason just kind of weave that whole setup so nothing but love for Jason he's articulate smart knows how to play the game

I absolutely love his role on The Chi…
He’s one of my favorite characters
Jason is such a charming and relatable guy
I like how he gave Oprah her credit. People tend to forget how much she has help the black community.
Oprah is so dirty behind the scenes…
This really was a refreshing Vlad interview. And Jason’s energy and character is just top notch
Hes a talented and classy brother.
Jason Weaver seems really cool and funny. I love his reaction to Chingy's clip.
"Oh, ok! Okay!" 😂😂😂😂😂
And shout out to smart business mothers......ain't no Gary Coleman shit going on over there lol. So smart.

This guy played the best older black brother in a tv sitcom for me as a kid. “Smart Guy” was the best!
Yo I've always liked this dude but now seeing this behind the scenes interview on him elevated him for me so much
He seems like a really good guy. Grounded, level headed and FUNNY!! 47:05
