I wholeheartedly agree with your philosophy on thrifting...I feel that way about thrifting my clothing. That way if I don't love it, I can take a $4 loss much more easily than $40! What a lovely home you have, and so meaningful. I think more of us need to be like you; and surround ourselves with things that bring us joy, rather than the latest trend. You look stunning today, dear...all tanned and sun-kissed : )
Much of my furniture is made by my dad. He was a talented wood craftsman. He didn’t start until he retired and it was his hobby. The majority of the rest is second hand. I’m not into trends, which change quickly. I chose what makes my heart sing, fits in our budget and is comfortable. My heart was fluttering when you were showing your platters and plates. My passion/obsessions are platters, bowls, linens and throw rugs!! LOL. I could care less about diamonds-give me vintage platters and tablecloths!! 😂
I too love used it passed-down items; that way my home looks unique and not like everyone else’s or like a picture out of a catalog. Your home is so cozy and welcoming!
I love thrifting, too. It is fun to brag about how little I paid for something. Or finding something I could of never afforded if it were new. Thank you for sharing. 💐
your house is charming, I love the secondhand items. Over many years of homemaking I`ve had buyers remorse many times. New furniture isn`s as sturdy as the vintage.
I love a mix of new and second hand. They give homes so much character. My favorite furniture piece in my home is a card catalog my husband found at an auction.
I love that quilt!💜 You have some great treasures & I love your way of thinking. There truly is something so special about thrifted items or hand me downs from family. Thanks for sharing & have a great weekend!🌸🌞

Thank you Pamela. I really do find joy in all my "treasures" I use around my home.
Love this! Thrifted/second-hand/vintage finds always make a home so cozy and welcoming.

Yes I have notices that with the new pieces I have as well. There is just something about a vintage chair or dresser.

I think those card catalogs are so unique. How fun!
@@DaveeKilian They are great for storing small items like batteries, keys, flashlights, charging cords, etc
You have created a lovely home!

I love it!!! Your dresser is beautiful! Thanks Davee for sharing.
Your decor looks beautiful! I also too love thrifted items.
I plan on doing this when I move out and my parents think I'm crazy got wanting to
Second hand has such a collected look and saves so much money. It is the way to go for many things.
I don't mind using second-hand items if they don't come with a smell. It's hard to get rid of it
Very true!
