Film 🎞️ Fact 🥃 : Farewell, My Lovely is a 1975 American neo-noir crime thriller film directed by Dick Richards and featuring Robert Mitchum as private detective Philip Marlowe. The picture is based on Raymond Chandler's novel Farewell, My Lovely (1940), which had previously been adapted for film as Murder, My Sweet in 1944.
Liam Neeson? Awesome. Neil Jordan? I'm sold. However, you know the sayings of Tywin... a movie that bothers to say "I'm a Noir Classic"... probably won't be one.
I love the concept. Return of a good "film noir". Daddy and I watched them. He saw silent movies, vaudeville and was a chauffer/bodyguard to "Industry Heavyweights". I just hate Liam is so unhappy he's aged during the last year. 😔💔😭 If only he'd find a new "Tash"--someone who will love him when the cameras aren't rolling. Tash was his TRUE LOVE. She LOVED the man not the "Icon". She can NEVER be replaced or forgotten but Liam deserves happiness. His UNICEF work makes him an EXTRAORDINARY man. Loving the CHILDREN OF THE WORLD--not just his two boys Tash gave him. Liam has raised them as a SINGLE PARENT. They've turned into fine young men. Tash would be proud. 💋💚🌹
Watching this trailer for Marlow as we speak, I'm a of Liam Nesson & I enjoy watching movies with him in. Despite the R rating the storyline is Great 👍. ❤❤❤.
As much as I liked Farewell, My Lovely, my first thought about this is "Isn't Liam Neeson a little old to be playing Marlowe?" Next thought is "Why did they have to call it 'Marlowe,' like the James Garner contemporary version?"
Just an FYI - this isn't based on Farewell, My Lovely. It's based on an official continuation novel released in 2014 called The Black-Eyed Blonde, by Benjamin Black. It's a fantastic book so I hope the film can do it justice.
my eyes glaze over whenever somebody complains about an older actor playing marlowe (and they always do). what is he supposed to be, the forever young detective?
Neeson as Phillip Marlowe is the STRANGEST choice. His gravelly, deadly serious voice seems so off putting for the world-weary, devil-may-care private eye. I'm willing to give it a shot but boy oh boy that's an unusual choice.
Does anyone know the song and who sings it? The one that plays after the scene where Cedric kills his boss Lou Hendricks after he smashes the mermaid? It says something like "I'll find a new baby....badoo badoo bye" and sounds like an old time record player song.
Liam just doesn’t come off American enough for this role. And definitely not L.A. enough. Phillip Marlowe is a sympathetic character. Neeson doesn’t have that kind of relatability. But we’ll see.
Guys, Is it just me? Or is this upcoming film in 2023 inspired from Rockstar Games' 'L.A. Noire'??? I just watched the trailer and I, honestly, couldn't help but see the similarities of this movie with that video game. Even Liam Neeson's character, Detective Philip Marlowe, have almost similar traits with Detective Cole Phelps, the main, playable character of that game. Still, I'm going to take a shot of this film as I have a question in mind to answer: In the end, will Marlowe meet the same fate as Phelps???
Looks okay...but the voice is no comparison to the original. Even the narrative seems dry. But watching Liam punch people in the throat is as good as an old school Oasis concert.
Just saw it last night. Good dialogue, good mystery, has to take a few steps on the Woke side, which unfortunately is mandatory for films these days, but other than that good film. 👍
In The Big Sleep, chandler wrote that Marlow was 38 years old. Liam is 70. Why does Hollywood keep casting geriatric men in leading man roles? Esp. tough guy roles?
I like Neeson, just not as Marlowe. He's playing a guy who was in his mid thirties when this takes place, has an accent from the wrong side of the pond, and his style just doesn't mesh well with the character.
Hahahaha the chief plays such a good olden role its not even funny. Wether it's a mobster or directive. And I think it was an episode of star trak ds9 that did if for him. With the Orion Orion syndicat.
Jesus Christ called people everywhere to repent, so if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe with all your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved and inherit the kingdom of heaven and eternal life. To this, people would accept Jesus Christ in life in their hearts and told other people how good he is, how he saves, heals and frees and gives eternal life for free
A movie with Liam Neeson is always worth to see, he is a great actor.
You liked A Prayer for the Dying?
He's no Huntz Hall, but Mr Neeson indeed is one gifted actor.
except for the ice road trucker movie, he did. that was terrible.
except The Marksman. also terrible
Liam neeson is one of those rare men who seem to get more vital the older he gets.
I love hard boiled detective novels. I'm definitely watching this.
Liam is the White Denzel. Even if his movies seem like the SAME, they STILL strike your interest.
😂😂😂
You Nailed this statement. Well done.
Facts
😂😂😂😂 The white Denzel. That’s a good one!
prior to Taken, he was a romcom dude
Liam Neeson + Film Noir = Awesomeness
Hurray!!!!! Jessica is back on the silver screen!!!! 😍
Jessica Lange on the big screen in 2023 with both Marlowe and Long Day's Journey Into Night. This is *thrilling*

I'm glued as Liam Neeson is in it.
The Supreme, Jessica Lange!👸🏼
Yes she is!!! 😉
I always loved Humphrey Bogart as Marlowe. Mr Neeson’s take on him looks interesting
What about James garners take on Marlowe
@@isaaliu1615 he was alright. Bogart is just that much better
IMHO Bogart was the best Marlowe.
I used to watch the HBO series with Powers Boothe as Phillip Marlowe back in the 80’s.
Hell Yeah. That and Mike Hammer with Stacy Keach
Powers Boothe is still the definitive Marlowe for me
Powers Boothe did a superb job depicting Marlowe in that HBO series!
Liam Neeson is an amazing and outstanding actor… My total respect… 😎
I certainly have a notion to second THAT emotion !
Liam is incredible actor
I agree 100 per cent.
The perfect Marlowe (after Bogart, of course). Marlowe with a Brian Mills attitude. Super cool.
reminiscent of "LA Confidential," but close to a cigar with "The Untouchables"
Nothing reminiscent about it. More like it tries to be L. A. Confidential. Very Lame looking.
Liam Neeson is always incredible actor 🤟🔥
I heartily concur.

I love him.
Oh i see Chief O'Brien back on the Holosuite playing Detective. I wonder if Baschir is with him.
I wonder how Liam Neeson will use his "particular set of skills" in this latest movie... as long as Neeson wants to blast bad guys' trachea, I am in!
I hope no bad guy kidnap his daughter
Watched it today. Absolutely amazing!
Very few movies take the trouble of showing some facial likeness of Mother & Daughter, like Jessica and Diane.
Satisfacción por la película, muchas escenas se han rodado en localizaciones cerca de Barcelona!!!
noone cant stop Liam
Good cast
Watching this trailer for Marlow as we speak, I'm a of Liam Nesson & I enjoy watching movies with him in. Despite the R rating the storyline is Great 👍. ❤❤❤.
I love Liam and his movies
That voiceover just doesn't sound '40s LA like the Bogart wise guy street talk.
@James Moran - I agree with you; not Chandler's dialogue at all.
Idc about noir, but Jessica and Alan are in so I think it would be fascinating
Awesome. I can't wait to see it 👍
I love the Philip Marlowe radio show so I'm in
!!Liam = the best!!

Must watch with Liam 👍

I'm willing to give it a shot but boy oh boy that's an unusual choice.
They were going to name this movie something else but the other name was Taken.
If it’s half as good as Chinatown, it’ll be great
Diane Kruger from Mr. Nobody??? 😮❤❤
Beautiful movies
I'm all in. 🍿 🍺
Bogart in The Big Sleep this ain't. Formulaic.
I'm in! A must see for me!!
Ehh, if they wanted to do film noir they'd tone down on all the future cyberpunk lighting.
Looks good
Funny that Ras Al Ghul is playing the "realistic" counterpart of Batman. (Philip Marlowe and Batman were created the same year - 1939.)
I’m excited to watch this. There should be a remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo and have Liam Neison play the investigator.
I will give this one a look at .
LA Noir meets Devil in a blue dress.
This man plays the same character regardless of the decade 🤣
I cannot see Liam Neeson as Philip Marlowe
Bogart IS Marlowe, Mitchum close behind - let's see what Neeson can do, but the accent doesn't help
Bogart for me too but I think Liam will be good. Will watch mostly for Jessica Lange..
Does anyone know the song and who sings it?

25 dollars is just crazy
Please don't be bad as Blacklight
The budget seems higher
Black light was hood fuck are you talking about fam.

I feel like he's playing the exact same hard nosed character except teleported back to the '30s 😜
Just saw it last night. Good dialogue, good mystery, has to take a few steps on the Woke side, which unfortunately is mandatory for films these days, but other than that good film. 👍
Racist
it is good stay woke.
Jaw Dropping!
Fiona Goode and The Axe Man 🪓🥰
Reminds me of Chinatown
In The Big Sleep, chandler wrote that Marlow was 38 years old. Liam is 70. Why does Hollywood keep casting geriatric men in leading man roles? Esp. tough guy roles?
I want you to find my love who disappeared. Who really cares these days about the disappearance of someone who once called MY LOVE?
wait & see movie in cinemas action clasic the marlow
If its half as good as..
Murder My Sweet
I'm in.
Schindler's List now on color!
Reminds me of Devil in the Blue Dress

Most boring movie ever made.. don't waste your money.
🇹🇿🇹🇿🇹🇿
🤮🤮🤮🤮
wish he wouldn't be a smoker in the movie... he is a role model for many
Ugh I love Liam, but it's a period piece.....not my jam

What 😆
Huh what?
Jesus also bade his followers to readeth a room

Watched it today. Absolutely amazing!
