Patch version final www.romhacking...
This hack restores the crosses that appeared in the background of stage 1 and on the zombie’s coffin from the Japanese version, and it also changes the names of Asutaroto to Astaroth and Sardius back to being called Samael once again as well. It also removes most of the slowdowns, making the game much more enjoyable to play as well.

Power decrementation on hit (return to previous armor)
Weapon collecting and switching between them with the L/R buttons
Shields that will not break by blocking with them

Downgrading armor...what a delightful idea. It would make the game involve far less sphincter clenching. Take a key for coming in.

It’s wild to think what we put up with in those days because we were so focused on graphics and looking as good as possible. Makes me wonder why they didn’t do some of these later and reissue them as “remastered” or something, none the less props to the community for righting the wrongs of the past!
FastROM chips were expensive to manufacture back then, so it would raise the costs.
Even with romhack, its STILL SLOW AS MOLASSUS. Jesus Christ in a basket, i have no idea why this game is rated so highly. This SUCKS so bad. Genesis&Capcom Arcade version is so much better.
@@விஷ்ணு_கார்த்திக் it's slow (more like, deliberate) because if it was any faster it'd be impossible to play.
Look at Super R-type - maybe 5% of players can play this game WITH slowdown. How many people do you know who can genuinely handle it with the SA1 patch?
@@ShinoSarna I was referring more to the movement controls, Arthur in Super GnG is so sluggish compared to the original Arcade version, despite having a double jump it feels harder.
@@விஷ்ணு_கார்த்திக் Have you played Cursed Castilla? It's basically modern spiritual successor to Ghosts and Goblins and it has great controls.

I can't seem to get the Super Ghouls'n Ghosts Restoration patch working in bSNES. Do you have to use a specific rom for it to work? It doesn't seem to work with mine (Super Ghouls'n Ghosts (USA).sfc), I still have the default slowdowns. What emulator do you use? Thanks.
So professional difficulty didn't start with Resident Evil 4. Interesting.🤔
Oddly, the demon that kidnapped princess never shows again.
That's Satan and he's a recurring antagonist. He was a major boss in first Ghosts and Goblins. He is notably responsible for tricking the player forcing you to beat the game twice - "this room is an illusion and a trap devisut by Satan"

While I still think this a great game in the series on SNES, I really wish Capcom had kept in the 8-way firing there. Also, I wish it has been FastROM from the start and been better optimized too. With all of this stuff in there from day one, I think this would have been a top 5 game for me on the system. It still looks and sounds lovely.
So, here's a random request for a new ROM hack for #SNES Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts: Along with the #FastROM patch and stuff already in other cool GnG ROM hacks like the Super Arthur one, an OPTION to play as arcade Arthur with 8-way firing (and use the actual arcade aim direction sprites here so it looks correct).
