I'd say intermediate. I went without subtitles.
Got most of the first part, a little lost when she started getting into the technicalities. Still could pick out some keywords and guess the meaning.

Hi. I love your videos. Maybe for another idea you could have a listening exercise about adapting to life in Portugal, especially after Brexit. It would be nice to hear about immigration, getting an apartment, etc. Just an idea. Good luck!
I'm from Madrid, and I understood everything she said. If it weren't for the strong accent, both languages , Portuguese / Castilian would be almost the same language
Total beginner but l recognised a few words 😉 l think it's very good to hear the 'spoken' Portuguese when you can also 'read' what they are saying

Mais um video fantástico e bem interessante. Obrigado Liz! Although she spoke really fast, don't forget all you Portuguese learners that you can slow down the speed to 0.75 or even 0.5 of the original. Her closing comment of "O objetivo é divertir-se" is great and applies to so much in life!

Liz, that was a really useful video. The level seems right to enable following of the conversation and the accent seems clearer than a lot of Portuguese that I hear speaking. Please can you do more of these. why not do a "day in the life of". A tuk tuk driver, a waiter or a zoo keeper at the Lisbon zoo. I suspect all of these would provide some useful vocabulary

A good trick for those of us who are not totally fluent in the portuguese language is to set the video speed at 0.75 or even 0.50, & play with > &

Great video. How about a baker video? What makes Portuguese bread so different? From dense like cake to light as a cream puff. Or pastries would also be interesting. We've already had friends in the Old Country ask for the recipe for the Chocolate Meringue Cake from Venham Mais 5 in Porto that we posted on the Portuguese Pro facebook page. Certainly there must be plenty of magical and unique sweets down there in Lisbon as well.

I am in the USA and here Brazilian Portuguese is more common to learn. My question is, when reviewing study guides/books, how can we tell if it is EU or BR Portuguese? Especially when it is not clearly marked as such.
I have read some really angry comments on Amazon where people bough language books thinking it was EU when in fact it was BR; one even had the Portuguese flag on it. Oy!
Couple of tips. European Portuguese is likely to use ‘a + verb’ when using ing in English.
A ler - reading (Portugal)
Lendo - reading (Brazil)
Also you may see the use of verb conjugation in the você instead of tu for Brazilian Portuguese. That won’t always be obvious but is they are using tu chances are it’s European.
Lastly the placement of the pronoun in Brazilian generally comes before the verb e.g.
Me conta - tell me (Brazil)
Conta-me - tell me (Portugal)
The last part won’t apply when using prepositions that attract a change of the pronoun such as já/não/ninguém etc

Can't you see where the book was printed on Amazon?

That's not that strange... but I don't know how the layout of Amazon website works, does the American books have always American flags?
@@lxportugal9343 The point of the AMZ reviewer was that it gave the wrong impression. If there is a Portuguese flag on a Portuguese language book, one would assume that it was EP and not BP. If it had the Brazilian flag on it, then it would be fine - it clearly lets the buyer know it is teaching BP.
My struggle, in the USA, is finding material that teaches EP. Maybe I should join Talk the Streets to learn EP. :)
Just had my first listen without subtitles and think I understood about 50% maybe a fraction more. Trying to decide whether I should listen again no subtitles, listen again Portuguese subtitles or read then transcript and listen again no subtitles. Help!
Keep listening without subtitles until you can’t catch anything new, then put the PT subtitles on. Transcript comes last to work through what you dont know!
She is using a lot of brasilian words such as " e ai" to say "and then" . She probably has a brasilian hot boyfriend or watches too many brasilian soap operas. Not a good example though.
