Imma sure to keep an eye out for the PvP roll you mentioned. I worry that I deleted one already lol. I know it's a last season weapon, but do you plan on making a review on Sweet Sorrow? The high zoom on a 720 paired with Enhanced Tap The Trigger with the archetype's optimal TTK is something that I enjoyed. Not to mention Killing wind on this archetype pushes it past 30 meters.
I appreciate people like you and TV shedding light on the unique rolls like this. I'm totally guilty of just saying "if it doesnt have quickdraw snap then i dont want it" but you guys have done a good job of showing that sometimes a weapon doesn't need to have the "meta" roll to be worth chasing. I was so confused as to why ammo was going straight to the mag for the first few minutes of the video, but once you pointed out it was because of Overflow it all made sense. More importantly, it made me realize that maybe Overflow is a perk I want for a PvP sniper now.
Yeah if we’re talking special weapons in pvp in current sandbox, holster mods and any perk at all, mainly overflow, that will eliminate or shorten your reload is meta
The overflow/focused fury PvE roll feels good on console PvE right now, which is surprising because snipers in general need a lil help in that sandbox in particular imo. Here’s to hoping for some kind of seasonal Arc 3.0 mod that turns it into a legendary Cloudstrike
This weapon rolls a good counter to the ammo issues that snipers have faced since the special ammo changes. If you can get a shoot to loot + dragonfly roll with decent handling it will automatically grab it from the enemy after a kill and reload all your weapons. Very underrated for sure.
I actually crafted my thoughtless with overflow because I love this combo so much, the gallu quickly became something to look out for me after I got one with a reasonable roll and realized it felt great for me. Great video!
I think Golden Tricorn will have a place in Arc 3.0 when Flux grenade becomes available for every class. Precision kill, grenade kill, body shot until 8 resil. Very hard to proc but unique for sure.
I love that at 7:56 you, as always, encourage us to talk about the weapon down below, and at that exact moment you drop to the lower level of Anomaly! Great vid as always! :-)
Underrated pick for sure. I'm also a weirdo that likes to snipe with Ace of Spades, which can sometimes be a challenge trying to keep Mori up, but in the back of your head thinking, damn I really need to reload my empty sniper. This solves that issue. Can't wait to try it out (if I finally get an overflow roll...)
i went from not caring about this thing at all to being excited to check my rolls, the focus fury overflow interaction is amazing, thanks for shedding light on this gem!
Another bonus I don't think you mentioned about the Overflow perk in PvP: Because you don't have to worry about reloading, it frees up a mod slot on your legs if you usually use Sniper Rifle Holster (like I do) -- that's 4 energy, which is enough to slot something like Perpetuation instead, which gives you decreased cooldown on all your abilities when picking up an orb of power, something you may be doing a lot of if you're playing aggressively with Gallu when Arc 3.0 comes out. As for me, I've only gotten 2 rolls of Gallu that weren't garbage, and I like them both, but they're not what I really want: 1] Polygonal Rifling / Accurized Rounds / Heating Up / Dragonfly 2] Arrowhead Brake / Steady Rounds / No Distractions / Dragonfly What I want: Corkscrew or Polygonal Rifling / Tac Mag / Overflow / Dragonfly (Gallu is the only Arc sniper in the game right now that can roll with Dragonfly aside from the Blue rarity Damietta and I value Dragonfly personally because I have really good luck with getting collateral kills -- and I can't use Cloudstrike with the Huckleberry or Traveler's Chosen).
I just watched this video and immediately went to DIM to see if I had any of this sniper in the vault and turns out I had 3 all with overflow and snapshot. The best one out the 3 I found have Fluted barrel, Accurized Rounds, Overflow, Snapshot, and Handling masterwork.
I have been raving about this weapon since I got it at the beginning of Witch Queen. Only unfortunate part is reload masterwork which is literally useless with overflow. Such a good weapon.
this is my favorite energy sniper in the game rn. I got a bunch of crap rolls but still used them cause i liked the feel of the gun but just recently, i got the god roll of overflow snapshot and im loving it.
I levelled up my thoughtless exclusively in crucible and the early option was overflow, I was constantly surprised how useful it was in crucible. Ended up keeping it on the whole way. I’ll try gallu if I get this roll.
Great to see a video from you on this. I had one drop, red border. I never use snipers, but took it into crucible and and really clicked with it! I have snapshot now and it feels crispy
Something about the Omolon snipers always felt better to me. Idk, it feels like the bullets are wider or something. Not to mention the sound of these things is incredible
Got a roll with fluted, accurized rounds, overflow and snapshot sights. Gotta try it in pvp but I've completely forgot how to snipe in this game after so much time using fusions and shotguns, it's gonna be interesting :D
One of my favorite snipers from D1 was the Erina fr4 Omolon. It was specifically the low zoom Omolon scope that made things feel really good for me, and it being a high impact. Once people found out that it could roll final round it was a sniper that some used for that purpose. I hope we see that scope again since all the omolons that have been legendary do not have it as far as I know. I hope I get a good roll of this soon since I'd like to see if I like how this one feels.
I'm really surprised that you didn't mention heating up. It is incredibly strong to get 15%accuracy on kill for a sniper and bonus unflinching with the flinch changes, although less often, with two kills those effects are doubled. You talked a lot about it with the 1000 yard stare and that was before stability unflinching.
Gosh I love your content so much. When playing and trying weapons with unique setups you think like I do and I ask why no one is using these weapons. It changes up play styles as well with certain rolls which make the game refreshing. Overflow quickly became a go to when I first tried a snipe with one👍🏻
Excellent review. Succinctly explained, in a fairly logical manner, what the best rolls are for PVE and PVP and why they are the best rolls given this gun's intrinsic traits. I can't tell you how many other reviewers just say, "This is the best roll. You have to get it. Now watch me use it for 15 minutes while yelling at the game." Review of review = A. My only suggestion would be to add a final summary of each roll at the end of the video to wrap things up.
I literally just got it yesterday with overflow snapshot and I was liking it alot. The scope is really open to me and it feels snappy. But man the long walk feels so good to me.
My first roll of the Gallu was Overflow Snapshot and I love it. I never upgrade them to seasonal power cap as they are my general play weapons, I use them when I for Gambit, Control or Rumble for fun, and vanguard Op and I like trying all of them out but will find myself sometimes not putting them down in play sessions. When it comes to weapons especially craftable foundry ones, I look for values like this. But I love having these foundry weapons that give these types of benefits that are so unique and when you include their foundry perks, they can be super fun.
Was completing a red bar gallu a few weeks back and as I was sniping ads thought "dang, this sniper feels great" been on the lookout for a good roll since
I got a 5/5 early in the season as well, and I've loved it. Even after using Beloved, the feel of the gun along with the sweet sweet Omolon Sniper sound always brings me back.
Hey CoolGuy, this video got me curious about a unique PVE role on Beloved that I think you should compare to the Overflow Focus Fury Gallu. I'm certain that you already know that Beloved can roll with Enhanced Fourth Time's the Charm (FTtC) and Box Breathing (BB). The normal version of these perks don't work together because in order to proc FTtC, you have to shoot before BB is procced. However, the enhanced version of FTtC lengthens the window of time between each precision shot required to proc it, and enhanced BB reduces the time required to proc that perk. I don't know the exact time window for each enhanced perk, but I'm curious to know if that allows those perks to work synergystically. Icing on the cake is that BB is about a 30% dmage increase whereas Focus Fury is only 20%.
The only problem with that is that you have to wait for BB after each shot, so dps will still be lower most likely. Could be amazing for total damage if it does work though.
@@NotWhiteAdam Yeah, that is a considerable drawback to keep in mind. I'm curious to see how the DPS would compare to a Gallu with focus fury. I don't have a crafted Beloved or a Gallu with overflow/Focus Fury. I suspect Gallu would have better DPS, and I agree that Beloved might have some outstanding total damage with that roll.
As of 8/17/22 Banshee has an Overflow/Snapshot roll. FullBore/Poly, TacMag/Extended, stability MW (I think he'll have it another day or two before rolls reset?) I really enjoy Overflow on snipers, the not reloading is fantastic.
you also didn't really mention how overflow removes the necessity to reload in order to proc the origin trait, the stats given by the origin trait are no slouch, and all it takes is finding an ammo brick on respawn to fill up that mag and proc the perk instead of having to fully reload it in order to take advantage of the perk
*adds gun to wishlist* you are the bane of my destiny existence. So many guns that i wouldn’t ever pick up unless I see your knowledge and opinion on them because I’m a meta purists because I’m PVE player. Great video keep it up man!
I have an overflow, snapshot, with arrowhead and appended mag with a reload MW. This thing just lays waste in PVP. Clean, snappy, perfect recoil, and goes well with middle tree arc warlock.
I've been hunting for an overflow snapshot gallu for a little while now. I got an overflow dragonfly roll at the very first day of the season and took it to crucible where I realized just how mean overflow is.
I’ve been hunting for a niche pvp roll, Snapshot+Shoot to Loot, ideally I’d get a pick and then shoot the special with my second shot in order to deny the other team ammo
I feel like a shoot to loot primary with explosive rounds would be easier and better for that use, but pulling it off in PvP using a shoot to loot sniper would be prettt memey
I love my no distractions, snapshot role. I will scope down a lane for a sec then with high resil, unflinching mod it basically makes sniping on easy mode. Getting shot only kicks the reticle a little and am able to get shots off I normally wouldn't be able to get
Buddy of mine pulled Overflow / Snap and he was going on about how he never reloads anymore. Pulled No Distractions / Snap myself, but don't lane hard enough to get much use out of it.
got a snap+ overflow, accurized, fluted and range mw in day 1, used it lately and this sniper really just works, and it works hard, never got to use a snap Uzume but im imagining it was smth like this
Yup, I've tried this out myself, have a fully masterworked one with handling and smallbore, accurized, overflow and snap. It definitely does feel good. The thing that makes me reluctant to try and use it during the upcoming Arc 3.0 meta though, is riskrunner is also in the same slot. With how many people I'd expect to see hopping on the Arc bandwagon next, I'm betting that RR is gonna see a huge uptick in usage. I mean, last year with the stag/landfall meta in Trials, it was incredibly effective to teamwipe with a riskrunner or two. I'm curious to see if/how Bungie plans around this shutdown tool
Took me a little while, but I finally got the roll I wanted for this snipe. Arrowhead (perfect recoil), ensemble, harmony and handling masterwork. I will use it with Lumina and sometimes Thorn and Crimson (although with Crimson steady hands is better). Ensemble and Harmony with Lumina and Boots of the Assembler will work really well together. Set up an empowering rift and boost both team mates. You’ll have 30 extra handling with ensemble even and if you take out an opponent with Lumina or heavy you get another 15 handling and 20% damage bonus. I’ll be on Arc warlock with arc soul rift so when you have Lumina buffed you’ll do 2x84 crits and 2 arc souls hits at 11 each get that damage to 190.
I have a snapshot no distractions on this sniper, and I have the overflow snapshot thoughtless fully crafted enhanced. And I gotta say, thoughtless takes the cake every day of the week. Had no idea this could drop overflow, will be watching for it now :)
First drop of this that I got was fluted/steady rounds/overflow/snap with stability MW. It's a beast and feels incredibly powerful against flinch. Highly recommend searching for a roll on this gun.
I got a roll with Heating Up + Dragonfly. I also got a roll with Steady Hands + Focused Fury. …And these are the only two perk combinations I ever get from this sniper. @_@ Thank you Bungie.
another sniper I would advise for arc 3.0 is Tranquility from the moon. When it launched it was kind of bad because of the perks, but now that snapshot is not as essential and stability is actually helpful on snipers it is kind of juiced in terms of stats. Especially if you get an elemental capacitor roll, (why it's good for arc 3.0) which gives it 100 handling and up to around 60 stability plus the 3rd column perk which can be things like no distractions, underpressure, or even tunnel vision. Also, the Aim assist stat isn't bad and the Sound on the weapon is amazing.
I got the snap/overflow roll last week and I really need to try it out, I love overflow on PvP special weapons for just the reason you describe, just not having to worry about whether or not it's loaded is a weight off my mind when I'm trying to do other things. See if it dethrones my Uzume - I do love the Omolon scopes.
Please consider giving The Long Walk a try. It's an aggressive frame sniper that has overflow snapshot. The fact that its an aggressive makes it possible to hot-swap to your HC and potentially 2 tap.
I tried auto loading holster on the frozen orbit with the same idea in mind. It can work, but it's not as good. It keeps you in the fight, just with a different weapon while you reload in the background.
mine has arrowhead, steady rounds, no distractions, snapshot, stability masterwork. it's not at all as aggressive as the one in the video, but i think it's pretty neat for the changes to flinch :p
I've got an overflow snapshot that feels pretty great and a heating up snapshot that feels a lot better than I expected it to, I wouldn't overlook heating up if it drops!
Am I the only one looking for a Shoot to loot/Dragonfly roll? Gallu is the only special weap in the game that that can roll with both so far. I do have some overflow rolls, but there are many times where I can't pick up a brick during a fight. I'm pretty sure the explosion from dragonfly counts for shoot to loot, so as long as you hit headshots and the enemy has ammo then you get a bullet back. (almost like Revoker but hitting your shots)
Ive got overflow snap on my gallu and long walk. Very good, but I havent used long walk this season. I really like the Omolon snipers and now I have a good Gallu with me
I'm not a big sniper guy especially in PvP but I have a few Gallu rolls that I'm going to try out just to see how it feels to use. Who knows, maybe this will get me into the world of learning how to snipe
I’ve used an overflow/snapshot Long Walk for a while now and I always find myself going back to it. I honestly think overflow is better on special weapons than primary. I’ll definitely try out overflow on Gallu if I get one
I got both the overflow and snap shot roll and the overflow focused fury roll they are great picks but i got a friend that works at bungie and they said that its highly likely cloud strike will be in the meta for both PvP and PvE with the buffs it will be getting and the catalyst it will also get making it synergize with arc 3.0
i love the gallu I have been farming it to death. I got a overflow snapshot fluted accurized with a handling master work. I got a snapshot no distractions. but the roll I like the most is overflow dragonfly, not the best in current meta but I adore it.
I now understand why I couldn’t get silicone into my playstyle despite having a next to perfect roll. It’s just not good at my sniping playstyle. I loved uzeme and love beloved. I hope when I get a good roll for this sniper it feels good to give me some options
Just got a overflow harmony ...im using hawkmoon too so its been great after landing those op shots and then the BIG KA KAW shot o swap to this and its already overflowing and has a damage boost. Its pretty nice
I think Thoughtless is extremely underrated, especially Overflow and Adagio, but this may be something I'll look out for. Overflow on snipers feels really great especially with the new ammo economy
Such a shame that it's a world drop... do you have one? What do you think?
i have 2 over flow snap rolls ...only a few days ago i tried them since i was using a heating up snap ..
u have a better chance in the crown of sorrow since u can get world loot only with umbrals...i love the fact i dont have to reload ..slide into a brick and rip a face off

I got the overflow snap and overflow focus fury.. ive been farming this sniper since the season began
I got overflow focus fury with a backup mag and appended you get 14 shots it’s basically arc thoughtless
I have the same roll except for Small bore on my barrel..

I crafted a thoughtless with that, and was incredibly underwhelmed. What made you fall in love with it?
Snipers are so bad in pve! Absolutely love cloudstrike in pvp
Yessir i got a overflow/snapshot that shoots like a dream in PvE & vP

It also has the snap heating up combo. I never got that roll on the dungeon sniper so I’m glad I got it here
First drop of this that I got was fluted/steady rounds/overflow/snap with stability MW.
I must be actually absorbing what I learn from these vids. I had already kept an Overflow/Snapshot and Overflow/Focused Fury. 😃
I have always loved the omolon snipers. I just got a drop with Arrowhead, Accurized, Overflow, Snap; I'm excited to give it a try now!
2:12 Man i love crucible spawn points, Totally fair and fun.
I've got an overflow snapshot that feels pretty great and a heating up snapshot that feels a lot better than I expected it to, I wouldn't overlook heating up if it drops!
Cheers Cool Guy. hopefully I didn't previously delete the overflow snap roll without thinking about it properly lol.
Literally just got an arrowhead, steady rounds, no distractions, snapshot with handling MW. Close to the god roll that Banshee sold a few weeks back.
Overflow was clutch during my comp run. It actually made me enjoy snipers for once.
I've been checking every drop I get to see what roles it has, thankyou for the video.
100% better on specials
I got a nasty snapshot, no distractions, accurized rounds, fluted, and handling. It's crispy.
You know you’re doing well when you go after the same combos as CoolGuy. Sweet!
Since I got one with Overflow/Shapshot I haven’t used another sniper. Quality of life on the instant reload is amazing.
You're videos are magic, I watch one and find it in my vault!
Banshee is selling an overflow snapshot roll rn
I got a 5/5 with snap/ no distractions and its become my favorite. Especially if you pick up enough green to get the perk going.
You need to try the long walk with overflow and snapshot with fluted. Thing is literally nuts
i love the gallu I have been farming it to death.
I have Fluted, Accurized, Overflow, Snapshot and Range Masterwork. Love the feel of this thing but haven't taken it into crucible yet. I will now. :)
My overflow snapshot long walk is my fav 6’s sniper. Such a good combo
I really gotta consult the cool guy archives before a dismantle from now on, I straight up had the overflow snap roll and didn’t see the value lol
Been focusing engrams on the hunt for the Overflow Snapshot roll since the beginning of the season. No luck yet
i dismantled a fluted barrel, accurized, snapshot, overflow, handling mw.... why am i seeing this now
Awesome video! I only have one but it's overflow, focused fury! Would have deleted otherwise so thanks!
