Apparently they’d bonded during the time after his injuries, and eloped together, leaving me behind without as much as a note. Since then I've tried to contact them to figure out what happened, but I still haven't gotten in touch. Long story short, if it hadn’t been for cotton eye Joe, I’d have been married a long time ago. Where did you come from, where did you go? Where did you come from, cotton eye Joe?
