Thank you soooo much for your useful synopsis! Did he mention how long he soaked, and did he use luke-warm water to soak them or something else? Here to save you time. Short answer is yes. Long answer is it varies by plant species by how much. Soaking the seed and starting the seed gives every seed that is viable the start of germination. If just putting them in the dirt they can quickly die to fungal or bacterial rot before they start gearing up and even have a chance to break the seed coat. As soon as the seeds touch wet soil, the race for life vs being consumed early starts. You are basically giving them a head start and the energy they need to burst forth from the ground. It also increases the sprouting speed. A short example: Sunflower Seeds, if not soaked, took 7 -15 days to sprout and a germination rate of 56% (100 seeds). Soaked in bowl overnight and then planted the same seed pack sprouted in 2 days or less and had a germination rate of 97% (100 seeds).
Doing part 2s or forcing people to ur channel just to see the second half of a 30 second clips is a big channel killer atleast link the second half in the comments and pin it 😂😂😂
Exactly…… on shorts we do not see the date of the recording so we have no idea of what time frame to search for the results. And yes part 2’s are a teaser turn off for me. Not interested enough to play games. Bye
I was able to get 7 cannibis seeds to germinate in 16-18 hrs by not just soaking them in water, but in a water & hydrogen peroxide solution diluted to 1%. All seeds began sprouting roots between 16-18 hrs and they were transferred to starter pots where in less than 24hrs they sprouted through the soil with the 1st set of leaves.
@@dong9514 not only does it help sanitize the seeds, but it helps soften the seed coat to allows the seeds to absorb more oxygen which speeds up the germination process. Soaking in plain water doesn't seem to work as well in my recent experiment. I was literally blown away on how effective this is. Before I would soak the seeds in water and then after 24hrs place them in a moist paper towel in a zip lock bag. While that works, it's not as fast as the peroxide method plus I now can skip the paper towel step & go straight to potting soil. When hydrogen peroxide is mixed with water, it quickly disintegrates into hydrogen & water & extra oxygen is released in the water.
@@nibeditaaa7296Hello, i do keep them in a dark place and only soak for 12 hours to not drown it. After that i put it on a wet paper sheet, wrapped in aluminium foil + I keep the dark place nice and warm around 22-24° Celcius, depending on wich type of plant. ( At least 20-21° Celcius) And depending on wich plant - under these conditions they mostly sprout like crazy in less than 30h for me. Oh and another thing is - I mostly used bottled water, not tap water for the germination process. Hopefully I could help you, grow your plants nice and strong.🤞Have a nice day!! ✨🌱✨

I'm trying to grow a wisteria bonsai. I'm pleasantly surprised that my first seed germinated in a few days on my first try. Hopefully this is a great sign!
I actually used warm water for my sunflower seeds. The Mammoth opened up completely within hours, the small sunflower variety did not. I was just experimenting.
I did a very similar experiment this year myself and found that my dry seeds with no rooting powder grew better than any of the seeds included soaked seeds with rooting powder.
This works with milkweed seeds, if you take a finger nail clipper and snip the pointy end of the seed. In just a few days by a window you will see it start to sprout.
to do this experiment fairly - the dry seeds should be planted at the same moment the you start soaking the others. the soaked seeds have at least a 24 head start.
It depends on the seed and how long you soak it. If you soak it for more than 24 hours it will hurt the seed if you do 18hours it will increase the rate.
I have got to say. Its never about germination process bit the quality of seed and soil. I have grown lemon and golden berry directly in soil. I never repoted those plants. They are healthy due to quality of soil sun and adequate water
I planted some seeds a while ago and they grew fast but they have to be in the shade they have to be constantly moist you can't leave them in the Sun or else they wont germinate as fast some seeds require light of our Sun to germinate faster however
In hydroponics, it doesn't benefit as much, in soil it benefits quite a bit as there is nowhere near as much water content in the soil as compared to water.

From experience with strawberry seeds ,soaking them until they germinate is the best way to grow them from seeds.
