Skyeship Base is actually quite popular among those arriving from the east. It's 10-15 minutes closer than the basin (access road) or even Bear, and it has close parking. Ride up both stages and you're at the top of Skye Peak, at the heart of the resort. Great Eastern is the longest trail at Killington by far, and you can even start it off the top of Killington Peak by taking Bear Trax and Snowshed Crossover. This is called Peak to Creek on the trail map. I always try to ski it at least once on the days I'm there. The only issue with Skyeship Base and Great Eastern is its short season. It didn't open till January 21st this year, and usually closes at the end of March or the first weekend in April.

Yes I agree! That’s where my dad and I parked for the day and we were so happy with the simplicity of the whole Skyeship setup.
