Hey guys, lots of people in the comments asking about jobs.. There are jobs yes. Maybe not the job you want though. If you are an electrician forget about it, the oil and gas industry is slow right now and a lot of people are out of work, especially electricians. However, if you are determined you will be successful. I know a story of a guy from India who came here with a degree in Information technology and could not get a job, for months because he had no "Canadian job experience". So he volunteered his hours to anyone who would take him, he worked 6 months for free getting experience so he can put it on his resume, now he is an IT manager for a large IT company. It might not be easy because there is competition but I'm pretty sure the opportunities are greater than in countries like India where the population and competition between graduates is so high. You might need to work fast food or service for a few years and may need to upgrade your education to Canadian standards, we don't always recognize foreign education especially if you have no work experience. A lot of educated immigrants work in the service industry to feed their families.
just fyi, that method is illegal. If you are volunteering (free) for a job that is free, you can be fined loads if you are a citizen and your work permit can be revoked if you are on work visa.

Calgary is an amazing city! It's boring people say? Man, a short drive and your in Banff, or Kananaskis? And it's got a great atmosphere, with really good people. There is a lot to do, especially if you love the outdoors.
its great for jobs if you are white. Doesn't matter from where just color was important. But living in Calgary, i do miss the local fresh beef and goat that I would buy by butchering the animal at the farm. But recruitment for colored new grads folks who are citizens is way lower. and yeah the mountains are great to visit but even with a job, it gets pretty boring here.
Fellow Scarbarian who's now living in Calagry. It's a much different world out here and I sometimes miss being in Toronto, but then i come back for a visit and can't take all the people and lifestyle...if I do go back to the GTA it would be further outside than inside. The small town feel has really grown on me especially when you have kids. Peace!

We visited Calgary last September for four days and I really like the place. I really want to live there, hopefully we can move next summer. We have too much traffic here in Toronto and houses are very expensive and even the rent for two bedrooms apartment is almost $1500 now. With your $$$1500 for mortgage in Calgary you can get a very nice detached house. And for those people who does’nt want cold, well Canada is not for you.

i recently moved from calgary to europe after marriage and i cant explain to you how much i miss calgary. canada is the best country and calgary is the best city in the world....no joke. i am so homesick. i miss everything about my beautiful city :(

@@tonymontana4929 i graduated from the u of Calgary back in 2014. and struggled to find work in my field. because at that time the companies in calgary were working at capacity. It sucked and felt sh--ty. I came to ottawa and in under 3 months i found a job and had few other offers lined up.

Really nice video and a cheerful one! Given the rental rates across top major cities in Canada, the rents in the two prairie cities, Calgary and Edmonton are still one of the lowest. Therefore it would be much cheaper to rent than buying in most cases.

Hi Igor, I am near Toronto now, but I was at Calgary for close to 3 years for work. I agree with you that life is better there, and Calgarians are the best/nicest for sure. Lake Louise is nice, but I always went to Banff because it is much closer. Calgary has it's ups and downs, both economically and the temperature (Chinook). For the working class people, I suggest to go to Calgary with at least 1 friend to help split living expenses. I also suggest to get an hourly based job, especially in the construction industry, stay away from piece work, the back charges are ridiculous and not worth it. Cheers!

Hey Igor, I enjoy your honesty and indeed, it is tough in some provinces within Canada. I was born here and still struggling. I tried to make something better for myself, but it's very difficult when you come from "Quebec". You should visit Quebec one day and PLEASE, make a video about that particular province....they are obsessed with language here, and they discriminate! The "only" positive things about Quebec is that it has more of a european feel to it, and the rents are cheaper.
